Chaser

The oil company fired back and cancelled meeting reservations. Then the mayor of Whistler did an about face and is trying to suck up to the oil company.

That is such a nice shirt story; more power to the people and less to those on the other side of the hill

If I ran an oil company I would not be taking this stuff lying down. People need to be reminded what fossil fuels have done for humanity.

Stop sucking up to the green blob.

Grovel, grovel. There mere fact that he thought it was worth having a go shows just how arrogant alarmists have become. Well, fact, Mr Mayor, Whistler was once snowless. Also, give us some proof of your slimy assertion that Albertan oil companies are responsible for something that you cannot even show has happened. FFS Mr Mayor, start thinking for yourself. Don’t be an organic bot.

The liberal mindest has real trouble when actions have consequences. They feel so superior it comes as a real shock when reality smacks them in the face.

It is a form of extortion and it is great to see it shot down by reciprcation.

And if it snows more, will they have to pay compensation to the oil company? As we KNOW, global warming causes more snow!

Technically it is not the oil company that produces the co2. It is the consumers of the oil.

The oil company is not forcing the buyers of its product to actually burn the oil.

The ski resort needs to sue the correct party, meaning sue the ski customers that arrive in suvs.

So the Clime Syndicate made an offer that could be refused. One small battle won in the $122 trillion shakedown war.

Hilarious.

Just like the celebrities with a personal carbon footprint the size of a small country telling us we have to reduce our CO2 emissions.

According to Wills’ analysis of the “Social Benefits of Carbon” the oil industry should send the mayor an invoice for the benefits awarded Whistler as a result of Climate change.

A few years ago, Whistler-Blackcomb posted a self-produced video on their web, site lamenting man-made climate change. As the video was hosted on YouTube, I posted a polite and structured comment arguing the main reasons why there was nothing to worry about. My comment was promptly removed. It’s telling of the power of the global warming meme when even ski areas are promoting it. Here is another example of a ski area promoting man-made climate change, from the Aspen resort web site. Take note of the irony of the CO² graph :

Funny that Whistler did not send a bill to Metropolitan Vancouver for having the largest coal export terminal in North America. Vancouver is facilitating the use of coal. Surely Vancouver should pay?

Oh I’m told this coal is clean, green, BC-eco coal.

Alan is right, go to Banff. One July while in Calgary on business, I went there and took the Forestry Trunk Road north to Jasper and got snowed on. I don’t recommend that road unless you like thrills, dust, and incredible scenery. Oh, don’t tell the car rental company that you did it….. 😉

“Whistler’s flirtation with the hydrogen highway has come to the end of the road. The municipality accepted 20 hydrogen fuel cell-powered buses to showcase the technology in the lead-up to the 2010 Olympics, but the program comes to an end in March and the buses are being replaced with diesel.”
(2013 article)
The hydrogen was shipped in from Quebec.

“Andrew Gage, a lawyer with the firm, said the goal was to start a conversation about who ought to pay for the effects of climate change.”
Fine, and CNRL finished said “conversation”. LOL.
