Friday Funny – the certainty of global warming and warmer, er colder, winters

From the “children just won’t know what snow is” department and political cartoonist Rick McKee of the Augusta Chronicle. He drew this in 2014, but with all the scrambling by climate scientists to explain our current record cold snap, this is still germane today.

US and UK weather has been sabotaged by Russian hackers with all warm air moved clandestinely to over-there.
Record warm weather for this time of year was recorded in Moscow, said Evgenij Tiskovec expert of the meteorological centre Fobos.
“It is a result of a subtropical warm wave coming from the Black Sea region, temperature rose to +3.7 degrees Celsius in the mid Russian plains beating the 42-year-old record ” said Tiskovec.
Not totally unexpected, presidential elections are due there in the new year, what’s up with the west’s hackers, are the ‘snowflakes’ asleep? s/c

Yes there is a sharp kink in the jet stream that’s allowing warmth to be pushed up north.

lt looks like it could be the UK’s turn for cold and snow as we move into the next weekend. As a area of low pressure looks like tracking along the Channel and drawing down cold air from the north and east.

I remember seeing that snow in the sierra was to become a thing of the past according to the experts….
…. Meaning the ski resort owners in the sierra must be really, really ignorant, or they’re not so dumb after all…

“One of the biggest jumps in spending is taking place at the snow-covered peaks around Lake Tahoe, where resorts are in the midst of a spending splurge of more than $100 million over the next five years.”

Somehow, I suspect that the weak La Nina pattern is somehow contributing to the current weather in the U.S. Here in Colorado Springs, we’re right on the edge of the cold — it moves in and out from the northeast. Yesterday, it was 68 degrees, but Sunday night it is forecast to go down to 4.comment image?w=1000&h=780

Danish Met office keeps a chart of the average temp North of 80.
Over the past five weeks, it has been well above the mean curve. Could be some El Nino hanging around?
What will it be like when North of 80 gets to the mean?

Wondering how a campaign of sending anniversary cards to these prophets of doom would go. “Congratulations Mr Alarmist! its now x decades since you said that NYC would be under water, just thought you should know”
Would help keep their lies and stupidity to the forefront , and maybe provide some funding for an enterprising sceptic
