The Guardian reports that Australia’s new climate alarmist Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, has not renewed outspoken skeptic Maurice Newman’s appointment as head of the Prime Ministers Business Advisory Council.
According to The Guardian;
… Former prime minister Tony Abbott appointed Newman as one of his first acts after winning government in 2013.
Newman has used a weekly column in the Australian to expound private views on climate change, including that the world was ill-prepared for a period of global cooling and that the United Nations was using debunked climate science to impose a new world order under its own control.
He also called for a government-funded review of the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) to “dispel suspicions of a warming bias” in its temperature record-keeping, something freedom of information documents have recently revealed was under consideration by the prime minister’s department.
Turnbull’s spokesman said the new prime minister, who has strong personal links to the business community, was still considering whether he needed a formal business advisory council. He said Newman had not been reappointed. …
Releasing outspoken skeptic Maurice Newman from his advisory role seems unlikely to help Turnbull’s credibility on climate issues. Prime Minister Turnbull has publicly stated that he wants to continue with Abbott’s climate policies. Given Turnbull’s track record as a fervent supporter of carbon pricing, this commitment to continue with Abbott’s climate policies, is not considered credible by at least some leading Aussie skeptics.
The Australian public voted overwhelmingly for Abbott, and his anti-carbon pricing manifesto in the last election, so there seems to be some sensitivity at the top levels of government, about creating a perception that putting a supporter of carbon pricing in charge of Australia’s government, will lead to the current government embracing carbon pricing.
A simple approximation of the net effect of all ocean cycles, combined with the V1 sunspot number anomaly time-integral when compared to a 5-year running-average of measured average global temperatures, produces a near perfect match of R^2 >0.97 with the 5-year running average of measured temperatures since before 1900. No influence from CO2 was used or needed. http://agwunveiled.blogspot.com
542 million years of life on land demonstrates CO2 has no effect on climate.
It’s unfair to call Turnbull fervent on ‘carbon pricing’. He wants to tax energy that has carbon in it. He’s fervent on ‘taxing’, not ‘pricing’.
We are not all idiots or fervent communists like ceist8 who simply wants to destroy the democratically elected Australian government, as he will find out at the next election. I am voting Nationals next time regardless and hopefully the senate will be stacked with conservatives who are skeptics and will keep the parliament sane. Lets hope Paris turns out to be the debacle it is promising to be.
