Guest post by Steve Goreham
I’m announcing a new on-line quote list resource for journalists, writers, and authors on climate change, global warming, energy, and the environment. You can find the list here.
The list contains more than 450 quotes and 20,000 words from political leaders, scientists, environmentalists, and news media headlines. It currently includes more than 30 quotes by or about the IPCC, more than 30 quotes by recent political leaders, and more than 60 quotes on energy.
The compilation of quotes is a collection from my two books on climate change, but will grow to include additional quotes in the future.
Citations from books, technical articles, news media, and web sites are provided. I’ve stated the original source of the quote wherever possible.
To help user search efforts, the quote list is divided into the following categories:
· Atmospheric CO2, Greenhouse Effect
· Carbon Taxes, Business
· Climate Change, General
· Climategate
· Energy, Biofuels

What an excellent resource, as is the one linked to Appinsys earlier on in this discussion.
Just one point…doesn`t James Hansen warrant a section of his own?
Dreams do come true! Johnny’s, for example:
And now he gets 4 more years to push his glorious vision(s)!
Falling into a ditch comes to mind.
Phil Jones said:
“Any work we have done in the past is done on the back of the research grants we get – and has to be well hidden. I’ve discussed this with the main funder (U.S. Department of Energy) in the past and they are happy about not releasing the original station data.”
This means that the U.S. Department of Energy is the main funder of the CAGW hoax. The U.S. Government, in other words.
One can ask why? It will be guesswork, of course.
One theory is War on Terror;
They want the U.S. to stop sending money to oil producing arab nations. Better send money to China.
Hello Steve,
Yesterday I sent you an attached Word file containing lots of quotes I’d gleaned from WUWT. It was in two parts. After I sent the second part, I received a non-delivery notice from your end. I hope you didn’t block it because the first part contained macros. I use a few of them to help me quickly reformat the material I copy in from WUWT. They’re harmless. Please e-mail me back.
Here are my critiques of two of your quotes (from the last, “Great Quotes,” section):
“Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.” —Dr. Carl Sagan, Cosmos, episode 12, PBS, Dec. 14, 1980
Sagan popularized this, but the originator was Marcello Truzzi. Wikipedia states, “He is credited with originating the oft-used phrase “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.””
“An extraordinary claim requires extraordinary proof.”
— Marcello Truzzi, On the Extraordinary: An Attempt at Clarification, Zetetic Scholar, Vol. 1, No. 1, p. 11, 1978

“For every complex problem there’s a simple answer—that’s wrong!” —Henry Louis Mencken, American journalist
Actual quote: “For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong .”
Al Gore is the new televangelist preacher raking in large sums of money and preaching hell and damnation on those who flirt with the devil CO2.
