December 7th, 2009…a day that will live in hypocrisy

It will be remembered as the day the greens bombed Copenhagen with limousines.

Picture updated at 12:30PM – Anthony

From the Telegraph, the tale of elitist excess begins:

On a normal day, Majken Friss Jorgensen, managing director of Copenhagen’s biggest limousine company, says her firm has twelve vehicles on the road. During the “summit to save the world”, which opens here tomorrow, she will have 200. “We thought they were not going to have many cars, due to it being a climate convention,” she says. “But it seems that somebody last week looked at the weather report.”

Ms Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up on Thursday and ordered another 42. “We haven’t got enough limos in the country to fulfil the demand,” she says. “We’re having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden.”

And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among that number? “Five,” says Ms Jorgensen. “The government has some alternative fuel cars but the rest will be petrol or diesel. We don’t have any hybrids in Denmark, unfortunately, due to the extreme taxes on those cars. It makes no sense at all, but it’s very Danish.”

But wait, there’s more!

The airport says it is expecting up to 140 extra private jets during the peak period alone, so far over its capacity that the planes will have to fly off to regional airports – or to Sweden – to park, returning to Copenhagen to pick up their VIP passengers.

As well 15,000 delegates and officials, 5,000 journalists and 98 world leaders, the Danish capital will be blessed by the presence of Leonardo DiCaprio, Daryl Hannah, Helena Christensen, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Prince Charles. A Republican US senator, Jim Inhofe, is jetting in at the head of an anti-climate-change “Truth Squad.” The top hotels – all fully booked at £650 a night – are readying their Climate Convention menus of (no doubt sustainable) scallops, foie gras and sculpted caviar wedges.

I don’t think there’s too much to come for here, from what I understand all the cars will be running on Bio-fuels made from straw, patented by some Danish company. I would advice against making too much furore about this one.
I think there needs to be some sort of political expose on the food-price increase that will come as a DIRECT result of farmlands becoming biofuel land – unless the biofuel is a byproduct of say food production.
I’m based in Copenhagen, and I was walking around town today. There are plenty of stands promoting the CO2 scare, but only one paltry ESA stand on the science. That science is outdated and distorted to the point where I did not find anything I couldn’t find fault with.
If anyone has need of men on the ground during COP15 for whatever reason, let me know. I plan to do what I can myself and as a minimum show up with the truth for the dec. 12th demonstration.
Keep fighting the good fight.

A quick note.
A friend just called to say that a debate on global warming is scheduled to be on CNN at 5 this afternoon. If it is true, I wonder how objective it will be. Has anybody else heard of this?
Yesterday, CBC showed, yet again, Al Gore’s film for I don’t know how many times now. So much for Rex Murphy’s 4 minutes of fame.
Business as usual at the CBC.

1 journalist for every 3 delegates. No wonder the MSM tried to keep sceptics under wraps. 😉
“…140 extra private jets..” Now that’s what I call a ‘low’ carbon footprint. :o(
“…the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier.” What’s wrong with public transport or sharing vehicles?
DO AS I SAY, DON’T DO AS I DO.
Watermelons also have to get a piece of the pumkin pie. HUMBUG!

Oh dear – lying to oneself is spreading – so leaked data actually supports your position, that’s a novel interpretation 🙂
“Jonathan Pershing, the Deputy U.S. Special Envoy for Climate Change, told a new conference in Copenhagen Monday that the emails would have no effect. “My sense is that the large volumes of data released since the story broke supports the incredibly robust science behind the research,” he said.
“The tragedy is that scientists who have dedicated their lives to this cause are now being pilloried.”

Plato Says (06:05:53) :
“Ed Miliband [Environment Sec in UK] just had 40 minutes of sceptics asking questions.
The view of callers was ‘its the Sun’, ‘why if its so important are we building another runway at Heathrow’, ‘what about the damage biofuels are reaking’, ‘what proportion of the CO2 is down to humans rather than the rest of the planet’… I asked about the MWP, but it was ignored 🙁
The presenter [the excellent Simon Mayo] said that there was an overwhelming view from the texts/emails/calls that people were sceptical.
There were no supportive callers or messages read out. As this is the BBC, you can be sure that if they could find a positive, they’d have given it airtime.”
You can listen to the Simon Mayo programme at the link below. Note how pally the BBC’s climate change man, Roger Harrabin, appears to be with Yves de Boer, UN climate change chief!

Making fun of the hypocrisy in Copenhagen is so cynical.
Remember the luxury dachas of the Party elites in the old Soviet Union? You must realize that what seems like a wasteful perk was really a necessary fixture in their selfless and dedicated service to the people. It is irrelevant that their system collapsed. Theirs was a just cause. They just didn’t try hard enough.
Being common working people and not New World Government elites, you cannot understand such complex concepts. The incredible expense and massive CO2 emissions are necessary to achieve the greater good. You must trust them to do what’s best for you.
Shame on all of you.

Of Cop15 head Climate Moron, Connie Hedegaard, said it was “the defining gathering of a generation”.
And;
“Let me warn you: Political will will never be stronger. This is our chance. If we miss it, it could take years before we get a new and better one.”
And;
“If we are going to have nine billion on this planet by the middle of the century then we better find more intelligent ways of running our world. Even sceptics must acknowledge that this is the challenge. We are working towards that and leaked emails will not derail us because we need to act and the longer we delay the more serious will be the economic consequences.”
And;
“There are many reasons to act, even for climate sceptics.”
Wow. The “DEFINING” gathering of a generation, meaning, I assume the baby boom
generation, born between 1946 and 1964, although the latter part, from 1954 is sometimes referred to “Generation Jones” (as in keeping up with the Joneses). Since she was born in ’60, she is part of the latter subset.
As a pre-Gen Jones baby boomer, I strongly object to the idea of the Climate Circus Hokemhagen, whose only effect on humanity, if so allowed will be to cause economic hardship for many, and yes, even death among poorer populations as being our generation’s defining gathering. No, it would be far better to characterize Woodstock in that manner.
“Even sceptics must acknowledge” there are “more intelligent ways of running the world”. Meaning, we Lefty Loonies who know better how to “run the world” take your money on the basis of a huge fraud, and you sit there and shut up about it, or else. Yes, that’s Lefty Loony “intelligence” for you.
“There are many reasons to act, even for climate sceptics.”
This is dumb on so many levels, even for a Climate Moron like Connie.
Action, then becomes an end in itself. Never mind if the action is in any way intelligent, or even harmful.
So, no, Connie, you do not get to rope climate sceptics into your idiocy. We not only don’t agree, we strongly object.
I notice she did slip, though, and said “leaked emails”, not stolen, for AGW/CC troglodytes will strongly castigate her.

“Record numbers of stretch limos and private jets are descending on Copenhagen as thousands of CO2 belching, caviar scoffing, prostitute molesting, hypocritical climate crooks prepare to orchestrate the next round of mass raping in pursuit of their much cherished world government and its handmaiden, a global tax on carbon emissions.
In another stark reminder that these globalists couldn’t give a damn about CO2 emissions, only eviscerating economies and the middle class, their own behavior is completely at odds with how they are indignantly demanding other people live their lives.”

“COPENHAGEN (AFP) – Prostitutes of a Danish sex workers association will offer their services for free to delegates of the United Nations climate summit in Copenhagen, an association official told AFP over the weekend”
So not only do they rip off the tax payer they also rip off the sex worker! Will prostitutes be subject to carbon tax? They do make their customers breathe harder – exhale more CO2…

Roger Knights (07:33:54) : Please do not use the word “anointed” which translated into classical green literally means CHRISTOS.”

Did you mean “classical Greek”? In English it just means dabbed with oil in a ceremony that consecrates the daubee. In other words, someone who has been elevated to a higher status than the rest of us by virtue of his holiness. That common meaning was the one used by Thomas Sowell in his 1996 book, The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy,” meaning the mindset of the haughty, dirigiste elite. Here’s a link to it on Amazon:

The villian of the piece is the Copenhagen Mayor distributing postcards “Be sustainable: Don’t buy sex.”
How dare he /they poke their nose into every bit of peoples private lives. And how do they assert that prostitution is not “sustainable”? It is the oldest profession after all and likely to last long after fossil fuels have been exhausted.
Maybe the mayor is getting confused because he is having problems with being “sustainable” with his own sex.

Roger Knights (10:22:26) : Yes I meant “greek” instead of green. However, in the new meaning you give, all these greens are “self annointed” ones, that qualifies them to use undeserved limos, to eat “never untasted before by them” caviar, and, last but not least, to make use of donated sexworkers services.
They won´t even remember what they signed.
