It seems the uncertainty about Copenhagen is growing. When Al baby pulls the plug, you know it’s hosed.
From Berlingske: Al Gore cancels lecture during COP15

Looks like they will get a refund though. Might be worth more as a collectors item in ten years though.
I wonder how many people have shelled out $1200 to shake Al’s hand? Maybe not enough and he couldn’t cover the expenses for his private jet?
From the Washington Post:
“Have you ever shaken hands with an American vice president? If not, now is your chance. Meet Al Gore in Copenhagen during the UN Climate Change Conference,” notes the Danish tourism commission, which is helping Mr. Gore promote “Our Choice,” his newest book about global warming in all its alarming modalities.
“Tickets are available in different price ranges for the event. If you want it all, you can purchase a VIP ticket, where you get a chance to shake hands with Al Gore, get a copy of Our Choice and have your picture taken with him. The VIP event costs DKK 5,999 and includes drinks and a light snack.”
Wait, what? How much is that in American dollars? The currency conversion says it all, too: 5,999 Danish kroners is equivalent to $1,209.
“If you do not want to spend that much money, but still want to hear Al Gore speak about his latest book about climate challenges, you can purchase general tickets, ranging in price from DKK 199-1,499 depending on where in the room you want to sit,” the practical Danes advise. “There will be large screens, so that everyone will get a good view.”
Yah, such a deal.

‘masquerade paper faces on parade, masquerade hide your face so the world can never find you!’
Copenhagen is reduced to a masquerade ball. Obama can’t miss it for so many reasons on so many levels.
Algore wants to hide his face.

Did Steve M. buy a ticket?
The glittering idiot, California’s pre-eminent climatologist, Senator Boxer, wants a criminal investigation into the “illegal hacking” of CRU emails, and quotes U. S. law as the basis for this action.
In view of the fact that U. S. law procedures have been extended to the terrorists in the Middle East and that the Supreme Court of the U. S. regularly bases its decisions on foreign law, it is perfectly reasonable to extend U. S. law to Britain’s East Anglia University and the CRU computers..
Part of the New World Government, you know.

Hopefully when BO stops in Copenhagen, there will be such a massive ice storm it freezes him in there till the spring thaw at least.
Humans breath increases the concentration of CO2 by a factor of 100 (http://users.rcn.com/jkimball.ma.ultranet/BiologyPages/P/Pulmonary.html). If all the warmest really wanted to reduce the amount of CO2 in the air, they would all just stop breathing — voila! Problem solved!

Kevin, I agree. Civility will return after a few hours of venting.
Mainsteam media are making a HUGE mistake especially on the internet. They are simply promoting relatively unknown news sites into prominence. People will not forget. Probably FOX news will come out a winner

The scary part in this finding is when the Professor says:
“They observed an 11,500 year cycle of intense monsoon precipitation.
In the dry period between 12,800 and 11,500 years ago, Kilimanjaro was ice-free.
At the end of this period, a dramatic climate change from very dry to very wet took place — driven by changes in solar radiation — resulting in the creation of an icecap. At the moment, this part of Africa seems to be at the end of a similar dry period, resulting in the disappearance of the famous icecap.”
This is another indicator that it’s really going to be cold some day soon… but year round this time!
Al cancelled because he didn’t want the event to get snowed out.

The skeptics seem to be building up a head of steam here ! Maybe we can use
this to our advantage to get the series updated !
Odd idea to update the proxies with satellite estimates of the lower troposphere
rather than surface data !. Odder still that they don’t realise that Moberg et al used the
Jones and Moberg updated series !
Francis Zwiers is till onside. He said that PC1s produce hockey sticks. He stressed
that the late 20th century is the warmest of the millennium, but Regaldo didn’t bother
with that. Also ignored Francis’ comment about all the other series looking similar
to MBH.
The IPCC comes in for a lot of stick.
Leave it to you to delete as appropriate !
Cheers

PS I’m getting hassled by a couple of people to release the CRU station temperature data.
Don’t any of you three tell anybody that the UK has a Freedom of Information Act !

So Boxer is doubling down.
How dumb. How predictable.
As if democrats have ever had any problem with illegally leaked stuff before.
Ignore the leaked data, but chase the phantoms.
I think it is time for another nice leak….from GISS or U Penn, let’s say.
Ok, someone fill me in.
What happened to Al Gore in Chicago that spooked him?
Thanks
I think Al Gore just threw Michael Mann under the bus…..
So, not many speculations on why he cancelled. Let me: either he’s going to spend all of his time lobbying, or he’s a little worried about having to field questions from the audience. An audience that might not be quite so sympathetic post-climategate.
So let’s see – if your pro-AGW, its hide the decline, but if your Google, its hide the increase. If its Al Gore, you just hide…
Lot’s of hiding going on !
The story is in the Wash. Times, not the post. Just an FYI. 😉

Climategate: Science Is Dying
Science is on the credibility bubble.
By DANIEL HENNINGER
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704107104574572091993737848.html?mod=rss_opinion_main#printMode
Surely there must have been serious men and women in the hard sciences who at some point worried that their colleagues in the global warming movement were putting at risk the credibility of everyone in science. The nature of that risk has been twofold: First, that the claims of the climate scientists might buckle beneath the weight of their breathtaking complexity. Second, that the crudeness of modern politics, once in motion, would trample the traditions and culture of science to achieve its own policy goals. With the scandal at the East Anglia Climate Research Unit, both have happened at once.
I don’t think most scientists appreciate what has hit them. This isn’t only about the credibility of global warming. For years, global warming and its advocates have been the public face of hard science. Most people could not name three other subjects they would associate with the work of serious scientists. This was it. The public was told repeatedly that something called “the scientific community” had affirmed the science beneath this inquiry. A Nobel Prize was bestowed (on a politician).
Global warming enlisted the collective reputation of science. Because “science” said so, all the world was about to undertake a vast reordering of human behavior at almost unimaginable financial cost. Not every day does the work of scientists lead to galactic events simply called Kyoto or Copenhagen. At least not since the Manhattan Project.
What is happening at East Anglia is an epochal event. As the hard sciences—physics, biology, chemistry, electrical engineering—came to dominate intellectual life in the last century, some academics in the humanities devised the theory of postmodernism, which liberated them from their colleagues in the sciences. Postmodernism, a self-consciously “unprovable” theory, replaced formal structures with subjectivity. With the revelations of East Anglia, this slippery and variable intellectual world has crossed into the hard sciences.

I just love these google results
Results 1 – 10 of about 28,500,000 for climategate. (0.09 seconds)
Results 1 – 10 of about 10,500,000 for al gore. (0.24 seconds)
Gore’s result took longer, more carbon expended??
