Activists behind NY Post parody detained by police
The New York Post does not have a sense of humor about itself, it would seem.
Early this morning, some 2,000 activists affiliated with a group called The Yes Men handed out copies of a 32-page parody issue calling attention to climate change. But when volunteers tried to distribute copies outside the Post’s offices, they were detained by police and their papers were confiscated, says an eyewitness.
This won’t last long. I’m sure the New York Post won’t take kindly to ripping off their image and brand wholesale to promote this agenda.

This fake version of the New York Post website seems to be part of the “New York Climate Week” effort, though it is hard to tell if it is connected or the work of a misguided person or sympathetic organization. Whomever it is behind it, it isn’t convincing anyone except for the galactically stupid.

The nypost-se.com domain name when looked up by WHOIS at Network Solutions does not appear to resolve to the New York Post, at 1211 Avenue of the Americas
New York, NY 10036-8790, but rather at another NYC address and a private individual.
So what’s next, fake celebrity endorsements?
By their own admission, the people who created the fake website apparently also distributed some newspapers they printed.
Although the 32-page New York Post is a fake, everything in it is 100% true, with all facts carefully checked by a team of editors and climate change experts.
It will be interesting to see if the usual suspects will join in to denounce this abuse of journalistic ethics or if they’ll simply stay silent and say to themselves “the end justifies the means”.

So you delete my cogent and relevant comments about the possibility of alarmists having charges brought against them and then in your very next article thread you publish such an article yourself of their “crimes” and make comments that the alarmists will get what they deserve for violating the copyright of the Post. I don’t get it. Obviously I’ve pissed you off or something and you’re mad now and not being fair to me as a result of your emotions. I just though that you were a fair minded person but I gather that I was mistaken and that your emotions are getting the better of your rationality at the moment. A fake New York Post newspaper that barely raises the interest, let alone the ire of the real newspaper owners and employees.
The Melbourne AGE newspaper stating that perception should trump truth and facts, because the politics of AGW is more important than the Science of Climate systems.

Don’t try to defend McCarthy. He deserved to be mocked and his response while true was far from the truth. In his typical fashion he sought to belittle and impugn his detractors not caring who he destroyed in the process. The man was a puffed up blow hard who went on a witch hunt and wound up burning himself at the stake.
I remember a couple of decades back when there was a fake paper “Not the NY Post” which was a direct parody and IIRC, there was legal action as a result.
That is a huge amount of effort to go to so I can’t see it being taken down any time soon. Even though I felt a little bit dirty every time I clicked on a link you have to be impressed with the creativity. Now if only they put that same drive into solving real environmental problems.

A recycling plant that turns plastic waste into oil at a price of $ 10.00 per barrel seems an interesting application to me.
There is only one disadvantage according to the author of the article.
It’s the fact that it produces cheap oil.

I am starting to think “climate alarmists” might be the wrong phrase. What I find most frustrating is that good people who have the best of intentions in their hearts are being sold a bill of goods and I get upset when I see that. Most of the people who are behind the “alarmist” agenda don’t understand what they are being told. It is just so sad and so frustrating to see people taken advantage of in this way.

JC, suggest you read Stanton Evans “Blacklisted by History”. Very well researched. Given what we “thought” we knew about McCarthy and the current perception, its a rather interesting text. Relates here because it really shows how big media, career propagandists and the entertainment industry can so easily forge a lasting perception in the public’s mind, regardless of what the underlying facts actually are (for example, ask the average Joe on the street if the arctic ice extent is at all time lows this year). I’ll leave it there.

The “galactically stupid” rant is Tom Cruise to Demi Moore. I was reminded of it by Anthony’s “galactically stupid” remark in the article. Deminitely a classic rant.
And of course that reminded me that climate alarmists “can’t handle the truth”, which is of course from the same film, a veritable treasure trove of quotes.
And don’t even get me started on “I strenuously object!” 🙂
