Victory as Trump withdraws America from UN climate framework & IPCC!

From CFACT

By Craig Rucker

We’re out!

Our long national nightmare of UN bureaucracies exploiting global warming as pretext for forever-increasing taxation, spending, redistribution, and control over Americans is winding down at last.

On January 7, President Trump issued a presidential order withdrawing the U.S. from the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). America is also breaking free from a stinking pile of bureaucracies determined to be wasteful, ineffective, and harmful international organizations by the U.S. Department of State.

CFACT has been there for the entire wild ride. CFACT was there when the beast was born in 1992 at the UN’s Rio Earth Summit. We were there in 1997 when the UN adopted the Kyoto Protocol. We were there in 2009 for COP15 in Copenhagen, where the UN threw in everything it had, yet failed. CFACT was there in 2015 when Obama dropped America’s defenses and dragged us into the UN’s disastrous Paris Climate Agreement.

CFACT served as your eyes, ears, and voice at the most severe climate policy flashpoints and the seemingly interminable UN climate conferences in between and since.

For over three decades, CFACT has worked tirelessly to debunk climate exaggerations on everything from weather to sea level to polar bears. (The polar bears, by the way, took no notice of the scare, feasted on fish and seals, and thrived the entire time.)

CFACT laid out the cold hard facts on climate “solutions” such as intermittent, inefficient wind turbines, solar panels, and short-range electric vehicles that solved nothing, while enriching a well-connected few.

When climate computer models projected a warmer planet than real-world measurements revealed, CFACT called them on it and made sure you knew.

Never again dare we permit ruinously expensive public policy be made while evading genuine, clear-eyed cost-benefit analysis.

Marc Morano, editor of CFACT’s Climate Depot, said that President Trump “unleashed a long overdue POLITICAL CLIMATE EARTHQUAKE, by formally withdrawing the USA from the UN climate scam! Our long national nightmare began 36 years ago when President George H.W. Bush got the USA into this whole UN climate mess by signing the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, aka, the Rio Earth Summit treaty. This treaty has served as the underlying basis for all of the climate nonsense foisted on the U.S. these many years.”

Marc compared Trump’s withdrawals on Fox and Friends to Jenga blocks. “Trump has pulled out the base of the blocks, and it’s collapsing,” moving the U.S. beyond climate policy “yin-yang.”

Team Climate, as you may have surmised, is apoplectic:

  • “By withdrawing from the IPCC, UNFCCC, and the other vital international partnerships, the Trump Administration is undoing decades of hard-won diplomacy, attempting to undermine climate science, and sowing distrust around the world.” –  Al Gore
  • “This is a colossal own goal for the United States. It will hurt their economy and their citizens. The science is clear: Climate change is a threat multiplier that affects every aspect of society, from health to security to prosperity.” – Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of UNFCCC.
  • “As they take a machete to international laws, Trump’s withdrawal from dozens of conventions, treaties, & organizations should surprise no one. It’s a direct assault on global climate action.” – Friends of the Earth
  • “The U.S. will miss out on the global clean energy boom, costing jobs and economic growth.” – Ani Dasgupta, World Resources Institute CEO.
  • “Letting this lawless move stand could shut the U.S. out of climate diplomacy forever.” – Jean Su, Center for Biological Diversity
  • “This withdrawal from the UNFCCC and other bodies is a betrayal of future generations. President Trump claims these organizations promote ‘radical climate policies,’ but they’re essential for survival.” – 350
  • “The United States’ withdrawal from the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will harm decades of progress on the climate crisis, threaten American jobs, and reduce economic opportunities as other countries increasingly look elsewhere for clean energy technologies and climate solutions.” – National Wildlife Federation

Nothing could be a greater tell of the true nature of the feckless, shameless climate campaign than that domestic and international Socialists adopted it as their own. The hard-Left crowd has never been right about anything, yet the harm they have done over the years can be measured in abandoned freedoms, squandered prosperity, human suffering, and countless lost lives.

Let us never again let anyone near the levers of power who expects us to believe that Marxist control of the means of production is an effective means for fine-tuning the thermostat of the Earth.

Though this is a momentous day, don’t expect Team Climate to graciously accept defeat and depart the field.

The media is not through amplifying the extreme pronouncements of global warming pressure groups without vetting.

The climate Left is already lying in wait for the chance to reverse President Trump’s reforms.

However, it took a two-thirds vote of the U.S. Senate to ratify America’s membership in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. It only took a bold presidential action to withdraw. A future president will need a fresh two-thirds vote to drag America back in. That is a tall order indeed.

CFACT will stand guard.

Al Gore’s rant could use parentheses. I like this version:

By withdrawing from the IPCC, UNFCCC, and the other vital international partnerships, the Trump Administration is undoing decades of (hard-won diplomacy, attempting to undermine climate science, and sowing distrust around the world).

It’s the alarmists who have wrecked climate science and sown distrust. Al Gore is one of the primary offenders.

I don’t think they are evil enough or smart enough to have that explicit goal in mind. Rather, they wanted a new hobgoblin as the Soviet Union was disintegrating as a useful hobgoblin. I put wokism in the followup category as they saw climate catastrophe losing traction. They can’t plan past the end of their noses.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

“Sowing distrust?” Most of the world is actually extremely impressed with America’s prowess, militarily, economically and in other ways.

Unfortunately we can’t release enough CO2 to fend off the next glaciation. That might require fusion powered giant hot air blowers deployed to Arctic North America and Eurasia.

But we can boost the vital trace gas level to green parts of the planet not covered by ice sheets. Ideally we’d triple plant food in the air to an ideal 12 molecules per 10,000 dry air molecules (as in real greenhouses), but we’ll have to settle for just six, as opposed to present four, up from near starvation three 150 years ago.

De-ice the Arctic. Detonate the Antarctic ice shelves and tow them to equatorial waters. Spread soot on glaciers. Geo engineer the planet to WARMER. The geniuses at MIT may have some ideas. Get them off their block the sun craziness.

In the meantime, THANK YOU Marc Moreno and CFACT. You may very well have saved civilization. It’s a sure thing the alarmunists would have destroyed us if they could’ve.

Agreed, but please don’t settle for six (6), or 12; let’s go for twenty (20). A 0.2% solution. We can do this.

That’s what the kerogen sediments are lying there for, waiting to be mined and reprocessed into the living matter — Green Lands & Seas! — of the ‘Biosphere’ restored to its full potential, the photon-flux limited optimum that Vernadsky calculated already a century ago.

It’s also a mineral-wealth so vast that we are 8-billion unwitting billionaire$ (that was Bucky Fuller’s formulation) — to be realized as miners, builders, gardeners, mariners…

There’s nothing wrong with The Climate — threatened as it is by re-glaciation — that this shouldn’t solve, as we unclog the neglected plumbing of the hydrosphere.

Yes, there is a Critical Path back to the Eocenozoic Age, to a ‘New Dawn of Life-Abundant’.

And if that takes one thousand years, well then there’s no better time to start than the present.

Hopefully the ridiculous endangerment finding is next!

Amazing that the steady march to globalist subjugation has been reversed in just a year. They’ve been working for over 100 years to accomplish that.

“For more than a century ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents such as my encounter with Castro to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as internationalists and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure — one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.” -David Rockefeller

Rockefeller?
Amazing what you can find by careful, deeper research.
My thoughts are definitely not charitable when speaking of Rockefeller Foundation.
After you read my WUWT article from 2 years ago, take a look at recent Annual Reports from Rockefeller. They are at the leading edge of alarmism about “climate change”. One can but hope that their bank vaults will be seriously emptier when CC dies, which will be not much longer in happening.

I was attending the University in Tromsø at that time, and in one of their exhibitions (Polaria) they had a large model of Earth with all glaciers melted showing the catastrophic(!!!) sea level rise. This scourge has been festering in the Universities far too long. Thank you CFACT and thank you Anthony for keeping the torch burning.

Even if some land is lost to a rising sea- much more land will become useful in Canada, Siberia, etc. But the climatistas never mention the upside of climate change.

Far more than a mere recounting of history is needed now.
There are some bad players who have caused huge economic and educational losses to the US to my Australia and many other countries.
Come on, you prosecuting lawyers. Some of their actions were illegal. Medical doctors who lost their licences because they prescribed Ivermectin for Covid-19 are an extreme example. Those who dismissed their fellow medicos should now be identified, investigated and if warranted, charged.
Same with “climate change”. This WUWT article lists players Gore, Steill, FOE, Dasgupta, Su, 350, NWF.
Set investigators going. Follow the money trail. Search for abnormally fast personal wealth creation. Look for master organisers – Soros and son have been mentioned by others.
There has been a huge wealth transfer from gullible people to bandits. It has been largely an illegal exercise in the class of demanding money with knowingly false misrepresentations. As President Trump describes it, “A con job”.
If prosecutions are not started, we can expect more big con jobs in copy-cat, get Rick quick style, on any number of creative new topics.
Society does not want more co jobs like global warming, climate change, Covid-19 “vaccinations”, job losses for non-compliance.
Handy thought for advanced lawyers: what are the real, constitutional rules under which politicians can proclaim immunity from prosecution for selected others? In this case, immunity for those if any who made and/or enforced mandatory actions such as giving “vaccines”. My doubt is that the bandits who did this were without the power and were bluffing.

Victory on one side and defeat on the other. Instead of the Empire strikes back it is the current President aiding its demise by making its ‘enemies’ stick together and weakening its system ( money printing and increasing unproductive military spending)
Pretty much what Biden did.

Trump is unique. He’s one of a kind.

He is the best thing that has happened to the United States in a very long time.

And he accomplishes all he does despite the constant, rabid, delusional resistance from the Left.

To better secure the hard-won victory in the withdrawal from IPCC and UNFCCC, I encourage skeptics of climate alarm, including CFACT, to become more familiar with an empirical reason why the core claims of harmful “greenhouse” “warming” were unsound all along:

The computed static radiative effect of incremental CO2, CH4, N2O and other IR-active trace gases is massively overwhelmed by dynamic energy conversion within the general circulation. This leaves no good physical reason to have ever expected rising concentrations to drive ANY trend of ANY climate variable. The influence of emissions of CO2 on the energy state of the climate system is readily demonstrated to be negligible. The modelers know this. Think about that!

Well put, David!
“When your only tool is a thermometer…” you can obsess about minor fluctuations in atmospheric heat energy (temperature), and ignore “dynamic energy conversion within the general circulation.”
This involves the far more important latent, kinetic, potential, even electric (lightening) energy exchanges that occur within the atmosphere and clouds as part of energy transport from the tropics to the poles.
