Young people growing tired of climate alarmism
…
For years, climate change has dominated the worldview of many young people, instilling a sense of urgency, fear and moral responsibility.
…
However, after decades of apocalyptic messaging, something is shifting.
What was once explosive passion is giving way to fatigue, confusion and competing priorities.
…
Surveys now show that while climate change remains a concern, it increasingly shares space with other anxieties — housing, economic insecurity, mental health, artificial intelligence and war.
…In school, they’re taught to recycle and reduce emissions, but they also see the wealthy flying private jets and governments approving new oil and gas projects — even as Canada pledges to cut emissions.

What kid wants to be involved in the movement their parents cared about? Can you imagine anything more demoralising than showing up to a climate protest, and suddenly realising you’re standing next to your school teachers? What if they ask you about your homework? While on the other side – that’s mum waving and smiling, watching you desperately trying to get the attention of the hippie girl standing next to you.
No wonder kids are looking for something fresh and new. Being a climate alarmist today is like trying to be a flower child – no longer the vibrant movement of the age, more a retirement club for people who can’t let go of the past.
If any of the promised climate disasters had actually happened it would have been different, but even the dumbest kids are waking up that what is left of the climate movement is a grownup exercise in hypocrisy.

Even the ultimate Climate Kid Greta herself, before departing the cult entirely sang “You can shove your climate crisis up your arse!”
How dare you!?
Wow. She did.
Poor Greta – running out of time to become an item with Leonardo.
Speaking of whom. Does she still have the same handler?
Yeah the moment when the ugly little kid who spent all her time telling everyone else they should do something about the climate finally realised that the entire cabal of hypocrites were spending all their time telling everyone else they should be doing something about the climate.
One of the most indoctrinated young people we ever had were the Hitler Jugend. How many of them in their 30ies were still radical nazi?
Claim: Young people are growing tired of climate alarmism
Not as tired of it as I am. Think about this. Ethnic minority people in the United Kingdom have more or less all come from far warmer climes than we can ever hope to experience – UKMO fiddling allowing, of course.
Take today’s latest 6th form student politik effort…
Ethnic minorities in England at higher risk of heat-related deaths, says study
Research links poor housing, access to cooling and other economic factors to higher mortality rates during heatwaves
The study found that black people had a REM index of 1.27, and for Asian people it was 1.1, meaning that the effect of heat on the risk of dying was 27% higher for black people compared with their white counterparts, and 10% higher for people from an Asian background.

Access to cooling? They are completely off their trolleys.
I kept my fire burning 9 months of the year when living in England, the problem was not too much heat.
There’s misinformation, disinformation and Guardian/BBC bolleaux
You can add the Financial Times these days
This sounds crazy. Why would black people, whose ancestors were from Africa, and well-adapted to hot weather, have more heat-related deaths than white people, accustomed to cooler European climates?
Nothing crazy… beside ManBearPig customarily glued on — but then, it’s Teh Guardian.
Rather obviously, «the black people in England» is not an entirely random sub-sample of «black people» nor of «people in England». I could whip up a hypothesis or two based on the possible way(s) in which they are not random, with obvious specific anxieties strongly linked to each. And so probably could you.
It’s the modern day version of – The boy who cried wolf.
No it’s not. The wolf in the story was real…
Right. «You all saw that — a wolf got him.» ⓒ Oglaf
Chicken Little: The sky is falling!
Who’d have thunk it? People are more worried about being bombed than Climate Change!
So young people want to focus on real, not hypothetical problems? Perhaps there is reason to hope, after all.
My kids did not wake up.
They will not have any children believing it is morally irresponsible to bring life into such a doomed world with the consent of the unborn.
Thanks to all who contributed to their psychosis.
I’m so sorry to hear that Sparta. Hopefully they will change their minds.
My daughters are reaching the age where childbirth has serious risks.
My son has a relationship with a woman who has kids.
There is no future that has grandchildren for me.
The article ends with this:
“If we want today’s youth to become tomorrow’s leaders on this issue, we must stop scaring them into paralysis and start equipping them for meaningful action, not through alarmism, but through science, honesty and empowerment.”
So yet again, for the Climate Liars it’s all about the propaganda. Can they get more patronizing? Yeah, that’ll go over well.
There will always be people who think they should soak others for their own benefit.
The number 1 lesson, it is always darkest before the dawn, aka hope!
The number 2 lesson, why do we fall? so we can learn how to get back up.
What do they teach? Victimhood.
“Young people growing tired of climate alarmism”
Note that young people don’t stay young. Priorities change as one grows from 15 to 25. Thus, new young people have to be recruited. The first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970, and was organized by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson. He died the year Greta was 2+. Gaylord, Earth Day, and Greta are ancient history to a young teen of 2025. Likewise for Al Gore and John Kerry; both ol’white guys. The world has moved on to “influencers”.
Go to the Wikipedia page for influencers. 12 are shown. How many do you recognize? How many are promoting climate alarmism?
Young people tend to be idealists, and are eager to latch on to some cause to “save the world”. But the last four years (2021 – 2024) showed all of us how high the cost of “fighting climate change” would be, and some of those young people woke up and started wanting jobs, having warm lodging in the winter, and electricity to run their computers and iPhones, and decided that sacrificing all that to cool the air by a tiny fraction of a degree wasn’t worth the trouble.
Even current teenagers and 20-somethings also lived through the made-up Covid scare of 2020, this “dreaded” virus that would supposedly kill everyone who didn’t wear a mask, stay 6 feet away from everyone else, and get a vaccine. The virus turned out to be no worse than a common cold for young people, while the isolation kept them away from friends and prevented some of them from going to their proms and graduation ceremonies, while some of those who got the vaccine are dropping dead of heart attacks, so that these young people might be skeptical of other media-generated scary predictions that never happen.
Well, the pandemic failed to turn into a decades-long campaign, despite the best efforts. Something else will pop up.
What exactly sort of «young people»?
Ah. That sort of people. Then yes. Those poor innocent young hooligans. They of course turned over apple carts and stole apples only because they have heard that apples are bad for the health of doves. Now they no doubt will have to… find a more wholesome pastime. Ha ha.
All apple carts in the neighborhood are already turned over, all salvageable apples are picked up, the grown-up thugs established protection rackets and are telling them to get lost. There is no place for the young hooligans anymore, is there? Now they will have to move on to the greener pastures.
And some just grew up.
Well, a lot of them are the opportunistic obsequious lackeys, so they would be the exemplary members of Comsomol and always attend everything.
But yes, so not fashionable. The permanent revolution must roll on.
This is nonsense.
Why? Someone other than the fake zealot crowd had «explosive passion» about the ManBearPig? Were any examples of such observed in the wild and preserved on teh internetz?
Or that the fake zealot crowd is any more benign than hooligans turning apple carts over and «explosive passion» was a genuine concerns about blah blah blah? Then show me Greta Thunberg of asteroid defense or any other “great cause” not harmful to other humans.
It’s a battle of distraction and tic tok is winning.
Better gin up another Gore movie or day after nonsense.
Considering that by now Hollywood is only capable of producing doctrine-compliant yet idiotic remakes which almost nobody watches, it’s going to be hilarious.
I wonder what the next Big BS will be, however.
They’re probably tired of the incessant nagging from the climate alarmists. I know I am.
At the best of times, this age group was never that concerned about climate activism since they have been far more engrossed in materialism and had few intentions of abandoning their comfortable lifestyles to combat a non-existent crisis. In actuality, it was the climate alarmist media outlets that conducted a few one-sided surveys of a selected few young climate activists who were recruited to support what those outlets wanted to publicize. And if further investigations found that those outlets took money under the table from leftist governments and environmental organizations to sponsor to hand pick the youths in the above surveys, no one would be surprised.
I was at a meeting about twenty-five years ago and was talking with a woman just a little older than the young activists of today. She was distraught over the plight of the poor polar bears. I tried to assuage her fears – I was already reading this site and realized the bears were not in danger. It is doubtful that I eased her concern much, but I tried. I never saw her again, but I have no doubt she no longer gives polar bears a second thought, or climate change at all.
Once you’ve wasted a lot of emotion on fears, only to realize later your fears were totally unfounded, you don’t invest any more emotion in the subject. I seriously doubt if she is the only one with this experience.
I don’t know which has done more to harm the science/medical/academic communities CAGW or COVID.
