These interviewees have more climate change knowledge than most people do. All of them are college-educated; most of them either grew up or have lived for some time in Southern California; and most have taken environmental studies classes, either as undergrads or in graduate school.
Their experiences as members of marginalized groups have shaped their experiences with climate emotions like anxiety, fear, and trauma — as well as hope and optimism. Paying closer attention to those emotions and mental health in communities of color, including how they shape reproductive plans, will become an increasingly important component of climate justice in the United States.

Melanie, a 26-year-old Native American woman, was raised on the Navajo reservation and in Southern California. She idealizes having a big, happy family, but there are aspects of the world that give her pause, so she struggles with whether it’s morally OK to have children.
“ I think I may not have children although I do want them,” she notes. “Just because, with all of the things we see going on in the world, it seems unfair to bring someone into all of this against their will.”
Melanie’s feelings about climate change include a general sense of powerlessness and lack of control over other people’s actions, which directly translates into her fears about parenthood: “With climate change, we’re the driving force of things breaking down, but then also, the planet’s going to do what the planet’s going to do. … So … it almost feels, like, kind of shameful to want to have children.”
It is a millenarian cult. Actually learning the science behind the claimed apocalypse would lead to a high probability of realizing it is delusional, a product of anti-technology and anti-capitalist fanatics.

Don’t insist on your fears being preached in schools as part of the curriculum…

Don’t push for Climate litigation in Congress or the courts…
…it ultimately may go to the highest courage be decided against you
Do stop using fossil fuels
Do stop using FF sourced Grid disseminated electricity as a percentage is FF sourced
Do throw away your useless IC vehicles
Do eliminate plastics from your repertoire
Do eliminate synthetics from your repertoire
Do Walk Everywhere and stop using synthetic rubber solved shoes (wooden clogs are OK)
Do stop using ALL of the 6000 petrochemical derived products
Throw away your Cell Phones, Computers, Laptops, IPad’s all were made from Oil, Gas and Coal

Perhaps it is different for isolated and primitive peoples but the history of open cultures with contacts outside the tribal mentality is that children strongly tend to adopt attitudes and beliefs in opposition to what their parents believe.

I wonder if women on Navajo lands have the same fertility as the general population: A woman’s fertility peaks between her late teens to late-20s after which it starts to decline. She has already missed her best opportunities of having healthy children.

Kevin is particularly interested in his own racial group and the propensity for black single mothers but the problem is widespread particularly with the toxicity of social media for young women.
