In a spectacle of utter predictability, five Just Stop Oil protestors have been found guilty, prompting a wave of outrage from their sanctimonious supporters and an eyebrow-raising intervention from the United Nations. The press release from Just Stop Oil is a masterclass in melodrama, painting these convicted clowns as noble crusaders crushed under the oppressive boot of justice. Let’s take a moment to savor the delicious irony and sheer absurdity of their plight.
The Self-Inflicted Martyrdom
These environmental zealots have spent their days causing chaos, blocking roads, defacing monuments, and generally making a nuisance of themselves—all under the guise of saving the planet. Now that they’ve been called to account for their antics, the cries of “injustice” are echoing far and wide. What did they expect? A standing ovation and a Nobel Peace Prize?
The press release laments the so-called “undemocratic” trial and condemns the sentences as harsh. They claim the UK Government is in the pocket of big oil, more interested in corporate profits than in the right to protest. This tired, overplayed narrative would be laughable if it weren’t so tiresome. The world is supposed to believe these environmental messiahs are the only bastions of truth and justice?
The jury entered guilty verdicts against all defendants after Judge Christopher Hehir removed all legal defences, ruling that the climate crisis was ‘irrelevant’ to the trial. He has indicated they now face lengthy prison sentences, despite the UN intervening publicly to question the legality of proceedings.
Despite this information being presented to the jury, following the departure of Mr Forst from the trial, the judge directed the jury to treat the existential threat to humanity as “irrelevant” and to ignore it entirely.
Furthermore, despite the admission of these matters in evidence as objective ‘Facts Not In Dispute’, Judge Hehir continued to refer to the defendants’ motivations for taking action as matters of “political opinion or belief”.

Hypocrisy at Its Finest
The irony here is too rich. These protestors claim to champion the environment, yet their stunts cause more harm than good. Blocking traffic leads to endless idling cars and increased emissions. Vandalizing public property diverts resources to clean up their mess. Their actions are less about saving the planet and more about feeding their own egos.
Their simplistic call to stop oil production immediately overlooks the complex reality of global energy needs. But who cares about practicality when there’s a righteous crusade to be had? The livelihoods of countless workers, the stability of the economy—none of this matters to these eco-warriors as they bask in their self-appointed martyrdom.
The UN’s Laughable Involvement
Then there’s the United Nations, stepping in to critique the trial. Oh, how noble! Are we to believe that disrupting society and breaking the law in the name of environmentalism should exempt one from accountability? The UN’s condemnation is less about justice and more about pandering to an overzealous, misguided activist base.
Conclusion: Reveling in Their Deserved Fate
So, here we are. Five Just Stop Oil protestors, guilty as charged, wallowing in their self-inflicted martyrdom. Their dramatic press release is a testament to their delusions of grandeur. It’s high time they faced the consequences of their juvenile antics.
Let this be a lesson to anyone who thinks that disrupting the lives of ordinary people and vandalizing public property is the way to effect change. The real world doesn’t hand out medals for throwing tantrums. So, let’s all enjoy a hearty laugh at the expense of these self-righteous clowns as they reap what they’ve sown.
Check out Just Stop Oil’s press release to bask in their impotent pontification
They’ll get a slap on the wrist- at most. I think a month of hard labor would enlighten them.
Hard labor was abolished in UK prisons in 1948.
Pity.
These morons would claim cleaning up their own mess was hard labour
It should take them about that long to clean up their messes with a toothbrush and teacup of water
The article doesn’t link to any media reports on the case. Here is the Grauniad’s take: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/article/2024/jul/11/just-stop-oil-activists-found-guilty-of-conspiring-to-block-m25-traffic.
Worrying that the prosecutors agreed that ‘climate change represented an “existential threat to humanity”’. It’s Just Stop Oil and their kind that are the existential threat.
Just send them to the African sustainability internship program mentioned by @JusperMachogu
The perfect prison for JSO offenders. Forced work for no pay on a rig.
NICE!!!
No, too cushy for them; aircon, best food in the world, no danger.
Send them to the South Shetland Islands.
Rounding these wankers up, caning them on national TV, stripping them of their assets (donating the assets to food banks), and giving them a one-way ticket to Kinshasa would be sublime.
Just ‘stripping them’ might prove their lies.
Who else thinks that they’ll basically get a slap on the wrist and don’t-do-it-again. Or am I too jaded? Funny, this is written in a way that I was expecting a thwarting of justice.
A step in the right direction, at least! I hope this puts a damper on the other nut jobs.
Judge Christopher Hehir 🌟
They will appeal, and they will get off.
The judge needs to give them a stiff sentence to deter future criminal acts.
They are SJ Warriors so they probably won’t mind conjungle visitations by the multigen cons.
Should steamroll them.
I concur with previous comments about just a slap on the wrist. There will be no jail time.
Just like this JSO sentence. Community service, and even that will likely not be done. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1we0pzw8pwo
Cleaning up graffiti without the use of oil based products works for me
They can use “Grandma’s Lye Soap”!
The Real Self-Inflicted Martyrdom
The mad monk breaks cover
Ed Miliband orders IMMEDIATE ban on new North Sea oil risking wave of legal actionhttps://www.gbnews.com/politics/politics-live-starmer-migrant-crisis-labour-party
Here we go…
Of course, all five could have stopped their own use of oil, gas and coal products without violating any laws. The guy with the crutch clearly uses oil products in the plastic parts of the crutch and bandage while the others likely do in elastics and fabrics in their clothing and shoes, toothpaste (lots of shiny white teeth), shampoo (lots of shiny hair) deodorants (we hope) and many others. Ignorant hypocrites to the last.
I would ask that they sit in their houses and identify just one object in their room, house, street, town or lives which would exist if not for oil and oil related materials and energy.
Just one!
“just sit in their houses” works for me. Traffic would be unimpeded.
Looks like a cell phone or tablet in his pocket, too.
Going after the Trustafarian supporters and financiers of Just Stop Oil would have more effect.
True, but remember, each journey starts with a first step.
This seems as good a first step as any.
Once Ed Milliband gets started they’ll find out what Just Stop(ping some) oil really means.

Wait, that guy on the right of the pic isn’t using a PLASTIC compound crutch is he?
I trust no oil was consumed in the manufacture, packaging, delivery of this essential piece of mobility equipment.
If so, and if oil production and use is stopped as demanded, his replacement crutch made out of bamboo might not be as comfortable.
Plus, a panda could decide to chomp down on it at any time.
That same guy fits this description –
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look,
He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.
(trouble is, all he thinks about is how to make a bigger nuisance of himself for society in general)
How would you harvest the bamboo, shape it into a crutch, and transport it to where it could be bought (coins and paper money require oil, online transaction require electricity meaning oil, coal, natural gas).
Meanwhile, JSO dimwits are celebrating a victory as the new Labour govt of Keir Starmer has agreed to end all new oil and NG licenses for domestic production. They celebrated by pouring orange paint onto the streets of London….
‘Paint the Town Orange!’ | Just Stop Oil wins First Demand | London | 10 July 2024 (youtube.com)
I’m wondering if these dim lightbulbs understand that these cancelled licenses will not change the demand for crude oil and nat gas in the UK. As domestic production decreases in the years ahead, Britain will have to import more oil and gas to meet its energy needs–which means less money staying in Britain and more going into coffers overseas.
This nail in the coffin of Britain’s economy coupled with the delusion that Nut Zero will will yield positive climatic and economic results leaves me concluding that the patients are in charge of the asylum. I am keeping my fingers crossed that something similar won’t happen here in the U.S.
Cancelling might not prove that easy. There’s this thing called cold hard reality – and the unions
You could have a valid point strativarius. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
There is also the cold hard reality called winter.
Unions have been conspicuously absent and silent as their fellow travelers on the left, and brainwashed idiots on the right, throw a major chunk of the labour force under the proverbial bus.
Doesn’t describing a “climate crisis” as irrelevant imply that it exists?
Yes could be, but it’s still irrelevant to causing public nuisance and disruption to the public going about lawful business and activities.
Re-reading…
Furthermore, despite the admission of these matters in evidence as objective ‘Facts Not In Dispute’, Judge Hehir continued to refer to the defendants’ motivations for taking action as matters of “political opinion or belief”.
That, essentially is a ruling that climate crisis does not exist, but rather political opinion or belief.
Or that the “Climate Crisis” exists, but only as a vague idea, or only as a political slogan.
Best to refer to it as “Climate Crisis™ to distinguish it from actual real crisises that really affect people.
Asteroid impacts would be a greater existential crisis yet also irrelevant.
Climate nazis talk about a crisis, yet not one scientist said the world ends tomorrow, next year, next decade – and even out to 2100 the worst they can say is that the coasts will be reduced (as they have been receding for millenia), storms might be worse, and OMGiddy Aunt, it might be warmer! And probably greener too! Oh, the horror!
The cars are still idling? Who’s bringing them petrol? 🙂
Cars can idle for days.
Thankfully during the blizzard that shut down I-95 for 26 hours a couple of years ago, most of the thousands of stranded cars could.
I have no sympathy for J.S.O. as they are just braindead stupid people and destroying works of art and historical monuments will not endear them to me. They should be jailed. I will suggest stop oil not delay me for anything important. I am a heavy guy and if I walk on their forearms and shins they will not be able to crawl back in front of my car. If any of my family are injured and in danger and they get between me and a hospital I would drive over them without a quam as my family is more important to me than they are. If the police won’t do their job then others will have to.
Interesting how their bullying you is considered a protected right by some, but you have no right to defend yourself.
“they are just braindead stupid people” …aka, useful idiots :<)
This seems like an exception going by a lot of recent cases.
One judge who failed to attend the judiciary climate indoctrination sessions, or who has an immune independent mind; that doesn’t alter much about the current overall rotten state of affairs.
“The jury entered guilty verdicts against all defendants after Judge Christopher Hehir removed all legal defences, ruling that the climate crisis was ‘irrelevant’ to the trial.”
Yeah, the judge blew it on that one . . . he should have ruled there was no evidence whatsoever of a climate crisis.
He could not, in fact, legally make such a ruling. Ruling the claims made by the defendants not relevant was correct.
Agree. ‘climate crisis’ is an idea, not a fact.
The trial was about blocking traffic on a highway, why they were blocking traffic is not relevant. The Judge was completely correct and there is no appeal there.
In view of the fact that the UN has put the world on notice that the era of global boiling is upon us simply issuing a a statement condeming the trial is definitely inadquate. I would have expected at the very least for them to send in a peace keeping force, as well as have the Security Council shake their “finger” at the UK for its despicable actions.
That would be an fascinating scenario to see played out. The UN occupying England/Great Britain.
Sounds like a good plot for a scifi movie.
For what they did, even if they were blocking traffic or throwing soup on painting in the name of “Just Keep Oil”, jail time is warranted.
(I wonder if the next “Extinction Rebellion” stunt will have 5 fewer participants?)
They are so vain they probably think this planet is about them.
Like the reference but it shows my age. 😉🙋♂️
From the press release:
“… Until leaders act to protect us, Just Stop Oil supporters will continue to take the proportional action necessary to generate political pressure. This summer, airports will be declared sites of civil resistance. Sign up to take action at juststopoil.org.”
Isn’t inciting crime itself a crime?
Is it not the case, as reported, that many members were arrested at their homes recently in a coordinated raid all around the UK?
Your comment makes sense. However, without the exact legal definition of “civil resistance” per the statutes in effect in the specific areas, it might be contestable.
Not if one is on the correct ‘side of the aisle’.
Prison or not, they should get a criminal record. That will make them and others think twice next time.
You should consider that they will wear the conviction as a badge of honor.
Too bad we did not have that judge during the 10 months of the Portland insurrection, where they occupied part of the city (the Free Zone), burned, vandalized, looted, and committed acts of violence against people.
Those insurrectionists got a multi-million settlement for their actions, claiming police used excessive force. Personally, I do not believe there is such a thing as excessive force in a war zone.
Two things.
Number one these worthless mongrels are fortunate that I don’t have the power to sentence them. They would all be sentenced to six months labor tearing down solar farms or wind farms. Spartan accommodations would be provided onsite. They can not leave the premises. We would determine how much of the farm could be removed by professionals and set a quota less than that for these criminals. They would have a choice, they could use fossil fuel powered equipment and finish up in six months or they can refuse the power equipment and work for as long as it takes to finish their quota.
Number two concerning the UN I would give them one month to retract their involvement in our business. If they refuse I would cut in half the US contribution to the UN.
The worthless mongrels would think twice and the UN would think twice.
The worthless mongrels can’t think and it would take the UN many years to think anything never mind twice.
One modification. Not Spartan accommodations, homeless accommodations.
Nope! I understand that a lot of the ‘homeless’ have been occupying hotels, etc.
Those charged got what they deserved since most of them fall into the semi-deadbeat category who have become desperate with their protests because they’ve realized that the vast majority of the population either gives them the horselaugh or ignores them entirely.
My only question is, did the 5 morons in the pic at top of this article get the living sh*t beat out of them when arrested? And did they get the living sh*t beat out of them after being booked? And did they get the living sh*t beat out of them when,,,,well, you get the picture. If you do not beat the living sh*t out of morons, repeatedly, they will continue to be morons. Get it?
You can’t cure stupid.
You can punish it’s practioners severely and repeatedly.
