AI Takes Top Spot – Climate Change in 4th Place at This Year’s Bilderberg Meeting

This year’s meeting of the masters of the world put AI related topics in the first 2 places.

70TH BILDERBERG MEETING

70th Bilderberg Meeting to take place 30 May – 2 June in Madrid, Spain

MADRID, 30 May 2024 – The 70th Bilderberg Meeting will take place from 30 May – 2 June 2024 in Madrid, Spain. As ever, a diverse group of political leaders and experts from industry, finance, academia, labour and the media has been invited. The list of participants is available on bilderbergmeetings.org.

The key topics for discussion this year are:

  • State of AI
  • AI Safety
  • Changing Faces of Biology
  • Climate
  • Future of Warfare
  • Geopolitical Landscape
  • Europe’s Economic Challenges
  • US Economic Challenges
  • US Political Landscape
  • Ukraine and the World
  • Middle East
  • China
  • Russia

Founded in 1954, the Bilderberg Meeting is an annual conference designed to foster dialogue between Europe and North America. Every year, between 120-140 political leaders and experts from industry, finance, labour, academia and the media are invited to take part in the Meeting. About two thirds of the participants come from Europe and the rest from North America; approximately a quarter from politics and government and the rest from other fields.
The Bilderberg Meeting is a forum for informal discussions about major issues. The meetings are held under the Chatham House Rule, which states that participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s) nor any other participant may be revealed.
Thanks to the private nature of the Meeting, the participants take part as individuals rather than in any official capacity, and hence are not bound by the conventions of their office or by pre-agreed positions. As such, they can take time to listen, reflect and gather insights. There is no detailed agenda, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements are issued.

The Bilderberg meetings are a big deal. According to Breitbart, “… A 2023 study from Lukas Kantor of Prague’s Charles University found that at least 133 politicians were elevated to positions of power after attending a Bilderberg Meeting, including former U.S. President Bill Clinton, ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and current French President Emmanuel Macron. …”

Obviously this might be because the movers and shakers at Bilderberg are particularly clever at spotting politicians who are about to be promoted to positions of power.

AI was also top of the list in 2023. In 2022 climate change beat AI, because AI wasn’t mentioned. In 2021 climate change was in the top 3. I tried looking back to find a meeting where climate change first made top of the list, but I got bored looking – if anyone else has the patience to give it a try, wayback machine has Bilderberg website snapshots going back to 2010.

Bilderberg meetings are the sort of thing for paranoid fantasies. I do wonder if one is being paranoid enough?

Why do these people meet to deal with a self-defined agenda that would normally be part of the business of every elected official government that wants to explore a selection of the items?
Why do they think they can do better than governments elected for the purpose of letting leaders know what should be done? (Maybe they are better – many present governments are not covering themselves in glory. But the question is why they volunteer to participate? If they have extra skills to offer, what are they?)

The point being that Europe and the USA have common interests but different cultures. Discussing these things at the top level, off the record, allows the West to coordinate its approach to the world’s problems.

Just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.

My concern is that AI is the tool power hungry individuals and organizations have been waiting for to better control the flow and content of the information we all depend on. I don’t feel at all comfortable with the organizations eager to take hold of it. It could be bad.

Of course it could be bad. Any tool can be used to inflict harm.

Since the proliferation of the internet, podcasts, social media, and blogs have outstripped the legacy media in information broadcasting. Just like talk radio was a thorn in the side to them years ago when they tried to get the “Fairness Doctrine” to subdue conservative views.
I thought it was hilarious when the leftist attempt at talk radio (I think it was called Air America) fell flat within a year.

Why didn’t I hear about this hugely important meeting before?

As George Carlin said, it’s a big club and we aren’t in it.

So we’re getting Logan’s Run? Because that’s what Logan’s Run was about. An AI governed smart city where select few were allowed certain pleasures of life, and then offed at age 30.
Cue the comments about Jenny Agutter.

Is there a relationship between the Bilderberg Meeting and the Davos WEF meeting?

I think the same vintage of champagne is poured at both events, yes..

Let’s see: monied people, political bigwigs (including wannabes), and industry leaders gathering together to discuss which social, governmental, and industrial constructs they can use to subdue the masses.
Seems like typical elitist conclaves that have happened throughout history starting with the meeting of the elders in tribal groups.
Nothing new, just with better tech and resources. That’s why they are also trying to crush the notion that individuals can determine their own best choices without governmental/industrial interference.

Fascism is the first step to total control of the populace for the betterment of the elite.

They are pushing the notion that it is not hypocrisy that they can do what they don’t want you to do. It is hierarchy, they are in charge and you are not.

FJB and the donkey he rode in on.

Sure . . . each is trying to “one up” the other.

Unsuccessfully.

The law of unintended consequences is deep and, eventually, fatal especially in endeavours which started as one thing and morphed into other things with the human mind changes that happen as we all get older and/or are replaced by younger and less experienced people. Mistakes are many and often but it isn’t until strange, unexpected, unclear, misleading, opportune, exciting, entrancing, seductive moments things happen that anyone takes notice. The bad stuff buried in all the clutter is never detected until too late (e.g. climate change lies, COVID-19 untruths, UN incompetence and Whoppers, etc., etc).

Boris Johnson happened and he shouldn’t have done but the damage was done whilst he was doing his Bullingdon stuff.

That maybe why human beings end up screwing themselves but perhaps we have to do this stuff in order to prevent even worse stuff from happening?

Hey Bilderberg members, get a clue!

AI is nothing new . . . we have had artificial intelligence on the planet for thousands of years. It was even recognized in the Bible thusly:

“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools”
— Bible, Romans 1:22, King James Version (KJV)

Not that that saying necessarily applies to you guys, but you many want to consider the possibility 😉.

If the bogus AI scare distracts people from the bogus climate change scare that is a good thing. Back in 1988 Newsweek had a cover story “AI is here” and we had the same scare, except that was for so-called expert systems not language models. Same difference,
