Dr Jordan Peterson: ‘Stop allowing radicals to exploit you with guilt’

Sky News Australia

Clinical psychologist Dr Jordan Peterson says the “central issue” for conservatives is to “stop allowing the radicals to exploit you on the guilt front”.

Dr Peterson, in an exclusive interview with Sky News host Rita Panahi, slammed climate activists, saying, “we have other problems”.

“You really think all our problem can be reduced to excess carbon dioxide production?”

Watch Dr Peterson’s full interview on Monday, November 28 at 9pm on The Rita Panahi Show.

But…but…but…guilt is how the Church likes to subjugate their faithful flock

And fear – don’t forget all the fire and brimstone lectures. While Christ may have preached love, the church flourished with fear, not guilt

The church just like the communists made the mistake of assuming all people are malleable, that we are all round pegs and the world is an endless series of round holes.
But of course humans are complex shapes and can only be made to fit by fear and force, the hammer.

And so, The Inquisition, always when you least expect it.

Jesus had some good ideas that suffered in implementation.
Like the Commies butchering 100mil in the 20th century.

The only hammer ‘used’ by Jesus, was the one used to hammer in the nails, into his OWN hands and feet on the cross. Jesus also said “Do *not* fear”. Would love to know why you think he had just “good ideas”, and had a ‘implementation problem’! Jesus is a far from those climate activists as you can get; there is just no possible comparison.

Their bodies, too. They are a walking, talking, body of carbon pollutants. Self-abort and sequester.

The could claim they have sequestered carbon?

In fact the new man-made diamonds might be extracting carbon from the atmosphere or even fossil fuels. Like “renewables” the diamonds will use a lot more carbon than they permanently reduce.

For the past few years, I have gladly listened to Rita Panahi on Sky News Australia as she gleefully dismantles Biden, his administration, and their policies. I’ll definitely watch her interview with the esteemed Jordan Peterson.

Thanks for the post and the YouTube link, CTM.

Sky News Australia appears to have a lot of radical “climate deniers” in its stable who have a brain between their ears. It cannot be by accident. There has to be a driver behind the selection of talent.

Also Andrew Bolt, who is such a hard core Never Trumper that in late 2019 lead his editorial by stating that despite the clear inconsistencies with the vote counting, Biden DESERVED to be president because he used ‘Fine Words’ in the debate and hence deserved a chance to put those ‘Fine Words’ into action.

Then he pretended that speech never happened and gleefully jumped onto the ‘Look at Biden’s latest gaff! LOL!’ bandwagon.

And yes, I am going to keep on about this.

As I understand it, the IPCC at COP27 reduced the forecast warming by the end of the century by 50%.
Can anyone provide a link to this article ??
Thanks

Probably not as the IPCC does not make forecasts or predictions. It makes scenarios.

Scenario RCP8.5 is now acknowledged to be based on assumptions that are not happening. Hence, RCP4.5 is being pushed as “most likely” now.

It’s still too rigid (and underestimates the impact of adaptation on the feedbacks but that’s just my opinion) but RCP 4.5 is now the norm.

There is no link I can give.

This is just a change in opinion about which scenario is most likely. There is very little evidence supporting any of the scenarios. All we can say is which scenarios are completely ridiculous (e.g., RCP8.5).

So, what you heard was right, but the science was never as settled as people expect. Thus, the change in the science is less significant than it sounds. I have no link.

This is how it ends, not with bang, but with a whimper. They have admitted that they have been pushing bullzhit for the last 30 years, and have retreated to a more “reasonable but still dangerous RCP4.5 “, which will subsequently become RCP2.5, and so on and so forth. It will just fade away.

Opinion is all that the warmists have .
They certainly do not have conclusive proof that any of their scenarios will ever happen .
The theory of climate change / Global warming depends on the Tropical Hot Spot .
The satellites are measuring constantly the temperatures in our atmosphere and they cannot find the hot spot .
All the climate models run far warmer than what is happening in the real world, so that proves that they are junk and in any other branch of science they would have been discarded long ago .
If you tune a model to the theory that rising levels of CO2 will lead to rapid warming and in reality there is no warming your model is faulty and is not fit for purpose .
No one can make predictions into the future based on the models that are predicting high rates of warming when there is a very minute C.13 degrees a decade.

The hot spot barely gets a mention by climate seancers these days, unless the discussion is where to hold the next FLOP summit

The entire CO2/CAGW hypothesis was punctured fatally when it turned out that CO2 always changes after temperatures in the ice-core data.

November 29, 2022 2:53 pm

To battle the Guilt, conservatives need to explain why they should not be guilty about producing CO2. I suggest a $1,000,000 bet that spending $369 billion of the Inflation Reduction Act will NOT impact atmospheric CO2. WUWT could start a GoFundMe/GIveSendGo/Kickstarter Campaign to raise the money.

Give Liberals a chance to put their money where their mouths are and they will shut-up.

This would be a sure winner for the skeptics that believe in the real science.

The crowdfunding campaign would raise $1,000,000 from one side that believes CO2 won’t be changed, and $1,000,000 from people that believe spending $369 billion will impact atmospheric CO2. In 5 years, if CO2 hasn’t been impacted, the skeptics double their money, if CO2 has been impacted, the alarmists double their money.

Is there a translation of this in Mandarin?

November 29, 2022 3:59 pm

Oh hello, that was my little mini-rant on here of just a few days ago about ‘bursting bubbles’
How it is now Just So Easy to say ‘no’ and that such a huuuuuge machine has now been constructed to enforce that.

UK being a lovely example with Tony and Cherie Blair. Devout Catholics as they were/are and as a commentator here has said, the guilt comes out of Religion. (King Knut had/has a lot to answer for)
Strictly, guilt emanates out of Mono-Atheism.
But Tony’s legacy, prodded on by Cherie (although it was he doing the prodding (nudge nudge wink wink 5 children no contraception) was a massive expansion of The Guilt Machine

Cherie was a high powered barrister and to drum up business for her lawyerly friends, persuaded Tony via her feminine wiles (you didn’t think Princess Nut Nutz came up with the idea all be herself did you?), persuaded Tony to craft a barrage of new criminal laws for the UK
And over the course of 10 years, he did just that, tripling the size of the UK Statute Book
(the definitive list of UK do’s and dont’s, pretty-well unchanged from its original from the time of the Domesday book of 1215)

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the enthusiasm for crafting new reams of No No No and No Again hasn’t hardly waned, egged on this time by Europe, dominated economically by the perpetually guilt-ridden Germans.
(UK peeps knew that and hence it was part of their Brexit decision although, you guessed it, they knew they’d be made to feel guilty for voicing as much)

Enter Mr Trump who wanted to effectively dismantle NATO, in part as its continued existence was what was making Germany feel guilty – for being Bad People for 2 world wars. NATO had done what it was set up for and had been redundant for the last 3 or 4 decades.
Effectively, Mr T wanted to forgive Germany – by dismantling NATO.

But he couldn’t swing it and now see what we’ve got.
.
Was guilt any part of the mindset of the geeks who built the computers, wrote the software and created the (haha) Social Media.
Were they guilty about being social failures, about being shy & awkward in the company of girls/women. Explains a lot don’t it?
Is that what’s propelling Bill Gates to this very day?

On the subject of guilt and religion, you’ve got to love this:
BBC Headline:”Less than half of England and Wales population Christianhere

It does say just ‘Christian’ though I suppose but have any numbers on how many adhere to the religion that is: Climate Change

Such insights.

Germany’s guilt is evident in their pursuit of “renewable energy”. They had the good intentions of saving the planet. Now they have become zealots fostering the demise of the developed countries.

The swinging pendulum from guilt to zeal.

The majority of Europeans will be a lot poorer by the end of winter:

The lucky ones will just be poorer! There is a worse outcome, of course. I suggest a group of people begin a global project to make a tally of casualties of “Policy-Caused Global Disaster” planned, funded and executed by the WEF/UN/EU, heads of state, NGOs…. This disaster is baked in for the next number of years and I fear this neomarxy set could break some of the 20th century tallies of horror.

Write reports and send updates to them: Gates, Scwab, Scholz, Merkel, Boris, Biden, Betts, Mann, Rahmstorf, Hansen, and a few hundred other perps.

Heading for 85, it’s a bit beyond my capabilities.

For some clarity

Pope Francis in Laudato Si’ goes on about the grave climate crisis and even quotes the Bible:
The rich and the poor have equal dignity, for . . . “he (God) makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good” (Mt 5:45).

Notice the Pope conveniently avoids giving a fuller quote of Jesus.
Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount says to his disciples:
But I say to you,
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.
For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good,
and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
(Mt 4:44-45)

Any Christian, who truly believes these words of Jesus, cannot be troubled by the climate alarmism. He cannot because believes in a sovereign and provident God, who shows undeserved kindness even to the worst of people.

“God, who shows undeserved kindness even to the worst of people”
Clearly his one great failure.

Reply to  Joseph Zorzin

Failure? No, it is called Grace, God’s universal plan, offered as a free gift to those who believe. From the beginning and throughout, Scripture is saturated by God’s mercy and Grace, but also his judgment on those who reject His offer. The small prophetic book of Jonah reveals how even a most godless and corrupt city, Nineveh, warned by an angry, bigoted and reluctant prophet, can heed His warnings and turn.

Elsewhere, throughout the Old Testament, the children of Abraham repeatedly cycle from devotion to godlessness to judgment. The New Testament books continue the warnings that there will be those among the Church who are deceivers and will seek their own power, prestige and wealth. Most of the evil readily and rightly associated with the Christian church through the centuries is not God’s failure (nothing surprises Him) but is from the heart of sinful man, even inside the “organized church.”

Are you competent to judge God’s actions, then? How has God failed by showing undeserved kindness to the worst of people? Please do say, so that God may learn from your superior wisdom and reform His attitude towards His creation accordingly.

Yes, I frequently see reports and discussion on Sky News Australia, on youtube.
They often have items on climate change which are pretty well always sceptical about all the climate madness such as net zero.

But I usually don’t watch them because they can be very annoying.
Yes, they do expose all the net zero nonsense for the dangerous madness that it is. And yet they seem to accept that climate change is a problem that needs to be addressed.

Two examples of this are Nigel Farage and Jordan Peterson. Nigel has been calling for a referendum on net zero. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t studied the science or the data. He knows net zero is a delusion. But sadly he and so many others still haven’t realised it’s actually a double delusion, because of the corruption of much of climate science and the endless exaggeration in the media. If by some magic they could come to appreciate the state of the science and how it’s been hugely exaggerated I think they would be very angry indeed.

I thought I would join Twitter the day Elon Musk took it private, and is such a treat now that he is restored to Twitter to read all Dr. Jordon Peterson’s tweets and observations about everything under the Sun. I used to lurk around Twitter just as an observer the last 4-5 years and was such a cesspool especially with a lot of folks getting kicked off such as Dr. Peterson was. And of course now follow WUWT, and a few dozen other climate realists. In fact my feed sort of reads like these comments, albiet a lot shorter. Now would be the time join up and add to the voices of reason about What Climate Emergency?

At 88 I am giving up my contributions to our professional magazine as I have become boringly repetitive on subjects like the true rate of global warming, the unscientific arbitrary 1.5C Catastrophe threshold scam and the serial dishonesties of the IPCC. I forget what I have written before. I seem to be the only voice – other responders are brainwashed ad hominem arguers who NEVER read the endnote sources! And they are educated professionals. My last calls for the Editor to note on his Bring Up diary in 2032 my forecasts. CO2 at 27ppm more than today unaffected by Net Zeros, Moana Loa sawtooth idiosyncrasy unaffected; sea rise 0.7 inch; global temp + 0.13degC, Arctic ice, GBR, no COP37. Etc etc.
