VP Harris asks NASA to hunt for institutional racism in trees…

‘Black Trees Matter’ — VP Kamala Harris Asks NASA if It Can Track Trees by Race for ‘Environmental Justice’

JOSHUA KLEIN 7 Nov 2021

Vice President Kamala Harris asked NASA if it could use its satellites to track trees “by race” in various neighborhoods as part of “environmental justice” during a recent display on climate change, leading many to ridicule the vice president online and even giving rise to a “Black Trees Matter” hashtag.

[…]

In a clip originally shared by Deputy Director of Rapid Response at Republican National Committee (RNC) Jake Schneider, Harris is seen interrupting a presentation in order to share her “woke” inquiry.

“Can you measure trees — part of that data that you are referring to, [and it’s an issue of] EJ, environmental justice — that you can also track by race their averages in terms of the number of trees in the neighborhoods where people live?”

[…]

“I thought this was a Babylon Bee headline, turns out it’s our totally serious Vice President,” wrote Republican congressional candidate Leon Benjamin.

“Glad she has her priorities straight,” he added.

Which race of trees are we now pelletizing for Green World with subsidies?

Just about everything they can get their hands on. I know Drax gets pine and eucalyptus from Portugal and mostly pine from Scotland, USA and Canada but I don’t know exactly what types.

I have said it before, let’s get really serious about saving the planet, let’s ban ALL Carbon from the planet immediately, ban it all!!!!! Ah, the Solar System, devoid of all life forever!!!! I would certainly like to see the Obama’s, the Gore’s, the Sir Jonathan Porrit’s, the Sir David Attenborough’s of this world, go without any form of Carbon. Ah Carbon, the fourth most common element in the Universe, after Helium, Hydrogen, & Oxygen!!! There you have it, it’s only a fourth rate element to start with!!! 😉

Ummm…. you DO realize that all politicians are essentially carbon-based life-forms, right? I’m completely in favor of banning their ilk.

I like this: Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, tweeted, “The roads are racist. We must get rid of roads.”

I suggest we return to the usage of horses and draft mules and draft oxen, and buggies, coaches, and unicorn-powered commerce. By unicorn, I do not mean the bearded, split-hooved fake horse with a narwhal horn sticking out of its forehead. The Teamsters drove a 3-up draft horse-drawn transport waggon, with one horse up front and two behind, which was known as a “unicorn hitch”. Just a bit of Really Olden Times history.

And think of all the fertilizer that horses and draft oxen can produce for use in gardens and on croplands! Never mind the dispersal of bovine intestinal gases: this will take those nasty CO2-blowing automobiles and trucks off the roads and stop their dispersal of horrifying tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Not only that, we can go back to everyone taking horse-drawn buses or trolleys, like you might see in old films from near the end of the Golden Age.

Those WERE the days, my friends! Everything was so simple then….

I suspect that there is a far greater problem of lead in urban water supplies than is generally appreciated. It would explain a lot!

November 8, 2021 1:09 pm

Just hilarious.

However, considering Harris’ education in political science, economics and law and her need to cater to her followers, one should not be all that surprised at her wokeness when it comes to knowledge of climate science.

That is, would it matter squat if “black people” lived with more (or less) trees per acre than people of other races? All along I’ve been told that CO2 in the world’s atmosphere is “well mixed”.

By her sophomoric question, Kamala must believe this is not the case, else she doesn’t have a clue about what she’s asking.

MarkW,

Time to reset that belief.

“As of 2015, 50 percent of Africa’s population lived in one of 7,617 urban agglomerations. With 78 percent of its citizens in urban areas, North Africa is the most urbanized region. Indeed, according to the report, within North Africa, Egypt and Libya stand out as the most urbanized countries with urbanization levels of 93 and 81 percent, respectively.”—source OECD via https://www.brookings.edu/blog/africa-in-focus/2020/07/16/figures-of-the-week-africas-urbanization-dynamics/

And please note that those figures date to 2015 . . . you can be sure that the urbanization of the continent has continued upward so that today less than 50 percent of “blacks in Africa can be found on the savannah” (your words in italics here).

Uhhh . . . I do believe the phrase “50 percent of Africa’s population” includes both “blacks” (which is the term originally used in this thread by MarkW, not me) AND Arabs.

Are you insinuating, with racial bias, that “blacks” are predisposed to “stay on savannah” instead of move to cities, whereas Arabs are predisposed to just the opposite?

Back in the daze, I had access to a lot of data and being quite curious I decided to analyze populations which lived downwind from refineries. I could do this this by overlaying Census block data on a GIS map (this was about 1973). Picked a small Metro Area in the Midwest and of course found that low income households tended to live downwind of the refineries.
Well no kidding, housing was cheap because no one else wanted to live there. Started to analyze the health care costs in those areas but was told to stop…. I did manage to look at things like household income/vehicle miles traveled which they really liked for retail locational analysis. Made some nice traffic volume plots of this money moving on the roads.

This is important, as you know there are few trees in the Sahara Desert and on mountain Everest. That is not right. Also there are many trees in forests and few in cities such as New York.

The obvious solution is to plant a forest of Redwood trees in New York city. The democratic party will handle the funding, zoning and permits.

The worst thing here is she didn’t think of this herself, this is a question her staff prepared for her to ask to make her look intelligent.

The Ron Klain-Susan Rice administration is an example of the dumb leading the dumber. That is why things have gone so wrong so fast. 10 months of total failure and we have 3 years left in which everything can only get worse.

Joe’s handlers have a real big problem on their hands. Joe’s plummeting popularity is starting to drag down other Democrats all across the country. National, state and local.
The problem is that if they decide to retire Joe, he will be replaced by the only person in the country who is less popular than Joe. Kamala Harris.

Dan Quale can rest easy now. They have taken away his status of the dumbest VP ever. We never imagined that was possible, but here it is. Biden has achieved something, he found someone even dumber than him and even dumber than Dan for VP..
Now that is an achievement that will go down in history.

After Kamala explores “EJ, environmental justice” with NASA with regard to trees, she is off to solve the European illegal immigrant invasion problem.

The United States has the most disfunctional administration in U.S. history with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Let’s just hope we can survive another year of this insane administration, then maybe the adults can get back in charge.

I want to see Trump become Speaker of the House of Representatives after he gets rid of all the stupid Republicans currently in Congress that vote with Democrats, and replaces them with “America First” Republicans.

Out of dozens of candidates Trump has endorsed, only two have lost their subsequent political races. So there’s a pretty good chance Trump can oust all those Republicans who can’t see the danger in Democrat socialism.

Actually there is (earth-observation) research into the “greenness” of neighborhoods in order to explore access to cooler green areas in urbanized regions to escape to during heat waves (exacerbated by the urban heat island effect). That research indicates that – maybe unsurprisingly – affluent suburbs are greener than poor suburbs.

I knew she was abundantly stupid, but somehow, it never got publicized in quite this way.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. She wouldn’t be dangerous even if she had a working brain. Geezo Pete, she’s even dumber than whats-his-name: you know, The Thing!

I see no redeeming qualities in Kamala, as far as being in a leadership position.

Biden’s approval rating today is about 38 percent. Kamala’s approval rating is about 28 percent.

The Democrats are looking for new leadership to represent them in 2024. Or, at least, they should be.

And if you want to know how much real support Biden has, that poll number tells you. About 38 percent of the population. These have to be his hard-core supporters, seeing as how they still approve of him even though his every move is worse than his last move.

She should get busy fighting the white supremacy of birch and poplar trees. And what is it with polar bears? Shouldn’t we send them all to reeducation camps? Does the white part of a Panda oppress the black part? Kamala must have the answers.

They ought to start photoshopping the polar bears and turn at least some of them into black and brown bears. That would be much more inclusive, and would probably prevent overly-sensitive people from being triggered by all-white polar bears.

I think there is a “tree” provision in one of these boondoogle Democrat spending bills that you might be able to use to plant more trees on your propery. But you will probably have to be a minority of one kind or another. No White people need apply. White people already have all the trees they want.

Marcus
