Priest sews his mouth shut over ‘muting of climate science by Murdoch media’

Updated: 03/08/2021A priest has sewn his lips together to protest against the “suppression” of climate science in Rupert Murdoch’s media outlets.
Reverend Tim Hewes, 71, carried out the symbolic act outside News UK’s office in Central London yesterday. It’s home to the UK arm of Murdoch’s global news empire, News Corps.
In a video released on YouTube, Hewes calls Murdoch a “climate change denier, dissembler and delayer” and says the media mogul has influence over governments which has led to a lack of meaningful action on the climate crisis.
Alongside Hewes, a Church of England priest in the Diocese of Oxford and a former dentist, was Reverend Mark Coleman, 62. Coleman took a letter into the building addressed to the Environment Editor at The Times newspaper, asking him to meet and discuss the situation.

What can I say – I think most of us wish the Anglican Church would focus on more immediate problems.

I was in two minds whether to cover this story. There is a legitimate concern that publicity is what the perpetrator of this gross act of self mutilation wants, and I’m helping to supply that publicity. More misguided attention seekers might follow his example.
But I think it is important to hilight the true state of mind of the most extreme climate activists in Britain. What will their next move will be, when self mutilation fails to deliver the outcome they want? I do not want to be anywhere near the action when we all learn the answer to that question.
This priest is no Christian and is slandering Christianity in his actions.
If he were a Christian he would believe that climate change will not bring an end to mankind. Jesus said that life will be going on normally when he returns: people will be eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, working in the fields an grinding wheat, buying and selling, planting and building.
If he were a Christian he would believe the teaching of Christ about the sovereign Creator, the God of providence:
“he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.“
Clearly a sad example of someone easily influenced by mass hysteria doing something pointless and painful to himself for no practical benefit or purpose.
He sounds and acts like a perfect example of a climate alarmist.
Such a pity these easily led individuals, manage to collect together under the XR banner and prevent sensible people doing sensible things for the benefit of all.
Hey ho, another day, another dullard….
Now if we could just get everyone pushing the “climate crisis” bullshit to do the same thing, and also abstain from any written communications, the world would be a better place!
Sorry, when I read the headline I thought this cannot be a real Priest. Phew! then I saw it was one of those Protestant types. Thank God for that, but with my Marxist pope anything is possible.
Would be great to do an “interview” with this idiot – you could just fill in all of his “responses” with whatever you like.

Lest there be any question about the rationality of alarmists, this behavior settles it. It is about belief and not about science.

As a follower of Christ, I’m disgusted by this “priest”. I dont live in the UK so I dont know what’s broadcast there, but if BBC broadcasts are any indication, this idiot, who makes a mockery of God, should be speaking out at the supression of climate science by the BBC and practically every other “news” agency…. too bad he can no longer speak. Like the movie Eyes Wide Shut, so is his mouth. He needs to open his eyes first though so he can see before making an idiot of himself on youtube.

As everyone knows that Some, Select Baby Lives Matter (BLM), it is less appreciated that Some, Select Female… Feminine Lives Matter in equitable and inclusive exchange.

Why didn’t this loon do it professionally and splint his teeth together…. nooo …just wanted to create a spectacle. Haven’t seen the gory pictures but it would have quite easy for him to numb up his lips with a few injections inside the mouth, then impress everybody with his suture skills. No injections… and it would have been extremely painful and blood everywhere….though that wouldn’t faze the fully blown nutter.
Just seen the video… and yes … the guy had “prepared” with anaethetised lips before the spectacle. The amount of blood (not a lot) confirms that.
Wait up, Mack. I’ve seen the young ones with triple (and more) lip, ear, and nose piercings than the few sutures this guy poked through his lips.
I’m thinking that he’s a fail with this stunt because the serious piercers won’t be listening to his message. They are probably thinking, “That’s kind of cool, but what a piker!”
Avidly seeking attention like that is a mental issue. You can make/place your arguments in a public setting without doing something so utterly loony.
After all, Martin Luther simply wrote up his 95 Theses and nailed them to the doors of various churches in Wittenburg, to make a specific point. He did not act like a Compleat Idiot the way this loon has acted.
