Greta made woke climate leaders squirm at Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Austrian World Summit 2021 – they had to sit there and take it, and applaud and thank her afterwards.
I love Andrew Bolt of Australia’s Sky News’ take on it – he suggests “She abuses these woke leaders because no one else will listen or put up with it.”.
I’m actually starting to warm to Greta Thunberg.
Greta doesn’t drive, so she is unlikely to suffer a car accident, something which seems to happen occasionally to high profile people who upset European leaders – though I’m sure such accidents are just an unfortunate coincidence.
So the question is, how do woke climate leaders disinvite Greta, without looking like traitors to the cause? Maybe they are thick skinned enough to just put up with her scolding indefinitely. But the ongoing abuse surely makes it just a tinsy bit more likely that Greta’s victims will grab any opportunity which arises, to downgrade the climate emergency and head for the exit door.
I’m in favour of anything legal which increases woke climate leaders’ discomfort with their current choices – and Greta is providing plenty of high level discomfort.
Keep up the good work Greta.

Ah! yes the nostalgia. I remember in the sixties when it was “Ban the Bomb”. That worked pretty well eh? now it seems everybody’s got one. On the bright side, all this ‘wailing and gnashing of teeth’ is fun to watch, ‘full of sound and fury and signifying nothing’ and when all the strutting and posturing is done and nothing happens they’ll be able to claim they saved the planet. My fear is that some genuine threat may emerge to distract them… a real Covid19 for example.

What is her policy for the billion plus without electricity who daily burn her ‘collapsing ecosystems’ in order to live? To deny them coal fired power stations is racist. but as I have many times pointed out, the billion haven’t had anyone create any coal power stations in the 75 years since WW2, nor for the most part has anyone rolled out a grid…
Yet India and Kenya, with the help of renewable power, have pretty much 100% electricity coverage, even if not everyone yet connected to it.
I guess that is why so many people from G20 countries are emigrating to India, all that boundless clean power and high standard of living?
They sure have it made there, hard to understand why so many come to cold heartless canada every year.
Maybe you could explain that Griff. I’m sure there is a reason why so many are willing to uproot and move to the subarctic when they have it so good at home

Actually, Sweden does get rather chilly in the winter. How does Greta (or her parents) heat that house all winter? If they don’t use oil or natural gas, do they have to cut down trees for fuel, destroying the beautiful forests? Or does Greta simply hop on a plane or sailboat and travel to a climate conference in the tropics to escape the winter?
Sometimes, but even then her crew and entourage still fly to meet her and then back.
Girl still be all up in everybody’s face about her ideas, but last year well informed adults told us we only got to sacrifice our lifestyles for two (2) weeks to flatten The Curve.

And what would a climate conference be without Scoldilocks, The Doom Pixie herself? Like Banquo’s ghost on an ultra HD screen, shaking a bloody finger at those in attendance, scolding them for not heeding her. Going on a rant about millionaires, billionaires, and those who are only interested in profits, etc. You know, the very same people who have funded her little jaunts all around the world. A mentally ill teenager who is basically a shut-in, dresses like a 10-year-old, has never worked a day in her life, and who has no educational background whatsoever, is FURIOUS that world leaders are not doing what SHE tells them to do? That they’re just USING her and her “movement” as a prop to score political points? News flash, sweetheart; that’s EXACTLY what they’re doing, and that’s EXACTLY what they ALWAYS do. I would like to know why anyone should read a book about Climate Change written by a 16 year old girl who has absolutely no scientific background aside from being scared to death by a documentary produced by an ex-politician whose sole scientific education was 1 class in Earth Science for which he achieved a Politician’s Son “Gentleman’s C.” Now that part truly is an inconvenient truth.

Just wait until the first bucketload of billionaires blows up on the launch pad, or burns up on re-entry.
That will put at least a temporary end to people paying enough to buy a house to fly to the very near edge of what some people but not others consider space, and staying there for just long enough to do a weightless somersault or three before turning around and coming right back again.

Greta is growing up and finally accepting reality – nothing will be done. She’s going to have a very frustrating life as she grows older and continues to see that the world continues on with very little real change. Hopefully, at some point, she also realizes that she was lied to about the “climate emergency”.
I wonder when she will realise that in fact its only for show, and there really isn’t a climate crisis…

attacking everyone and everything is as useful as attacking nobody . if she’s so passionate about keeping fossil fuel in the ground why not do something at “home ” about next door neighbor Norway , the Saudi Arabia of Europe with one of the worlds biggest fossil fuel industries , drilling away in the delicate arctic . ? if she has any real intelligence she must realize she needs some specific goals if she is to accomplish anything . she seems to be all about showmanship, intoxicated by her own self importance . why actually try to do anything when she gets so much attention for empty rhetoric ?
But the reality is that, according to the paleoclimate record and the work done with models, the climate change we have been experiencing is caused by the sun and the oceans over which mankind has no control. Despite the hype, there is no real evidence that CO2 has any effect on climate and there is plenty of scientific rationale to support the conclusion that the climate sensitivity of CO2 is zero. Hence all the efforts to reduce CO2 emissions will have no effect on global climate. It is all a matter of science. Mankind does not even know what the optimum global climate actually is let alone how to achieve it. Hence there are no known actions to take that will lead to an improved global climate. I hope that Greta has been able to go back to school and to get more then just a very basic ” general science” science education.
I suspect she’s now in the same boat as Mann and Hansen.
She’ no longer useful for “The Cause” (which was never about climate) but they can’t admit that she and they are full of it without weakening the CAGW lever they’ve used to gain power.
So they sit and listen to her while looking at their watches wondering when she’ll shut up.
They keep paying Mann’s legal fees.
They just ignore Hansen and his calls for more nuclear power.
They can’t tear down their old “poster child”‘s without admitting the drive to control Mankind via the Man’s-CO2-emmissions lever is, and always has been, bogus.
Without the threat of avoiding the “C” (catastrophe!) in CAGW, who would vote for what they propose and do?
