In a region usually plagued by sweltering heat, cooler weather prevailed in January. Temperatures fell as low as 19 degrees Celsius (66 degrees Fahrenheit) in Manila, while Bangkok recorded a record low of 16 degrees.

We had it tough here in tropical Australia as well. Thanks to global warming, temperatures have struggled to climb above 90F, leading to slower ice melt in our beer coolers, and mass confusion when cold water flows out of faucets.

If there was an unusually strong cold front over Thailand and Singapore, it’s not surprising that it produced heavy rainfall, since the cooler air could not hold much tropical moisture.
What that would have to do with CO2 escapes me.
We are not worthy to question the glorious work of the anointed climate priests studying the Climate Scriptures and divinations of their climate models. They will reveal the “truth” of climate and tell us how we must repent (and of course, remunerate them) for our fossil fuel sins.
The so called polar vortex’s only form in winter, not the summer.
Yet we are told to believe that in a warmer world, there will be more polar vortex’s.
Carry on thinking while you can. They will send you to a gulag to get rid of that nasty habit. It make you blind you know.
The bliddy tomatoes are a month behind in ripening here in Central Victoria. 25% of the annual rainfall already in the paddocks and dam – typical La Nina effect. And replicated elsewhere. And well explained and well forecast by the BOM on this very blog site late last year. Good job all round.
You’re brave, I used to struggle to get a good crop of tomatoes in Melbourne, let alone up in the highlands.
Still no proper rain here in SE Qld very dry now, so the La Niña this year is a fizzier, and we only had 250mm for whole of last year. It has been a cool summer, though.
These climate models are going to need some serious remedial work to predict this abnormal double-plus un-heat next time they are going to have been re-run last week. All this predicting future climate is very difficult. Especially the stuff that hasn’t already happened. Particularly inconvenient after all the models have just been fiddled for the upcoming Glasgow jamboree. This settled science is as slippery as an eel when it keeps changing like that.
Nah, no rework needed. They already are mismatched with reality. A little more mismatch won’t bother none of ’em.
Just my thoughts as I awoke to a 21 degrees top floor apartment in Sydney in the middle of summer when I should be sweating and unable to sleep without aircon.. coolest summer I remember in 30 plus years.

BTW it’s been over 20 years since Dr. David Viner said “Children won’t know what snow is and David Parker at the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research said “ultimately, British children could have only virtual experience of snow. Warmistas believe that increased CO2 causes higher Global temperatures, but when temperatures fall in many areas, then it is clearly CO2 that is causing that too and we should redouble our efforts to panic. Warmista CO2 theory istotally immune to analysis.

until someone can clearly state what climate we are changing from and too I assume they are just fraudsters … in reality, there are only 2 climate extremes … snowball earth and no or minimal polar ice capped earth … and we have gone from one extreme to another over long term history …
There is nothing to say to the convince the green mob. If someone cares about knowledge and truth and logic then they respond when they are being charged with not being one of those. What if what people care about is not actually being right but being on the side that is most popular. There is nothing you can say to them. It’s like trying to tell someone that it is not logical to take a new pair of jeans and put holes in them just because it’s in style. They don’t care. We need to educate people so that being truthful and smart are considered cool. Then we may have a chance.
Woke at 5:00am today in Subic Bay PH at 77F with a windchill of 75F. Will have to burn furniture to survive.
How awful, if harsh conditions like that persist you might need to switch to long sleeves!

There’s confusion over climate vs weather.
The solution is simple; when it gets colder that’s weather, when it gets hotter that’s climate.
No confusion. Just following the sage advice of “if you don’t have a winning argument, baffle them with bullsh^t”

See the weather map, with all those isobars doing looopy-looops further south than normal. That might ‘splain stuff to them…. but they prolly won’t unnderstan’ it, ’cause it’s complicated and — well, us peons don’t spend enough time worrying about something like climate change, which really does take lots of time to happen.

You’d think they would by now but there seems to be a long queue of idiots lining up to publicly embarrass themselves.
It appears that is how you become “famous” in the field of “climate science™.”
Wait a minute ! This chill we are having at the moment is not “weather” as they are trying to convince us , it’s GLOBAL , its climate change all right . It’s cold everywhere North and South . Huge amounts of snow . The cheek of these so called “climate scientists” trying to convince us that cold and snow over vast areas of the earths surface is caused by Global Warming is insulting . And forget the change they have tried over the last 10 years in labelling from Global Warming to Climate Change .
We know the climate changes , it always has and always will but to blame CO2,the only outcome of , according to them , is global warming into the future then Global Warming it is . I think the pot is stirring , and “they” are starting to realise that something is wrong , the temperature is not rising at anywhere near the rate their models are telling them . That won’t stop them though ,it is obvious these people have no conscience and are used to the false gravy train and can’t get off .
None of the disasters forecast are happening apart from the normal. “People are dying” REALLY ! Where would that be ? More droughts ! Is that right ? Worse than China ,1928 3,000,000 dead , Bangladesh 1943 ,1,900,000 dead , India 1942 1,500,000 dead , India 1900 1,250,000 dead , Soviet Union 1921 1,200,000 dead ……….etc . “Whole ecosystems are collapsing” , where? more than usual , any worse than the ecosystem that Mt St Helens annihilated ,over 250 sq kilometres sterilised , a 300 year old forest with millions of trees and animals ,insects wiped away, destroyed a 1300 acre lake turned the water acidic killing all life in it .Ah but that was natural! (came back remarkably quickly).
