Friday Funny: Another last chance to save the world from Climate Change

Another last chance, but this is the best one Kerry says. Well, of course it is.

THIS year’s climate summit in Scotland is the world’s “last best chance” to avert climate catastrophe, according to US climate envoy John Kerry.

The senior White House diplomat earmarked the COP26 conference in Glasgow as a crucial landmark in the global bid to combat the environmental crisis.

The United Nations talks, which will be attended by leaders from across the world, were pushed back a year due to the pandemic.

“In fact, I would say that in my judgment, it is the last best chance the world has to come together in order to do the things we need to do to avoid the worst consequences of the climate crisis.”

I’m pretty sure there will be another last chance, coming to a destination near you soon. Meanwhile, Josh reminds us of all the other “last chances”.

Is Kerry taking a Slow Boat to Scotland? perhaps paddling his own SUP? Flying first class or renting a yacht from an oil billionaire – who happens to be the head of the International Petroleum Investment Company – like that other hypocrite?

The temperatures of 2020 were the highest ever, of the last 12,000, that is, since it can be assumed with some precision the climatic temperatures of the earth.

WRONG

Probably not even as high as the MWP.

A few degree COOLER than MOST of the last 10,000 years.

That’s nothing! It has been concluded that “some” scientists now claim that the Northern Territory in Australia has been the driest in 65,000 years. It must be time for another government grant!

But doesn’t the Northern Territory get ‘The Wet’ every few years?

Gabriele. They weren’t the highest and no, we can’t assume precision in past temperature dating as they use proxies and those have problems with calibration.

Gabriele: the IPCC was formed in 1988. That’ll be 33 years this year, and still we’re being bombarded with dire warnings and doomsday scenarios from the media. I’m 72 years old, and live in the UK. Here we get the likes of the BBC, Sir David Attenborough and Prince Charles constantly beating our ears with this nonsense.
I’ve seen the seasons come and go, and nothing’s changed, Drier years, warmer years, colder years, wetter years – the same as it ever was.
Here’s some Met Office data for you to have a look at:
https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/research/climate/maps-and-data/uk-temperature-rainfall-and-sunshine-time-series
Now ask yourself – where do you see evidence of dangerous climatic changes?
Trivial claimed temperature variations don’t define climate – yet look on some websites and you’ll see people even quoting alleged temperature differences to four decimal places – utterly ridiculous. Yet in the UK we have the Climate Change Act in all its stupidity, along with a pledge to ban internal combustion engines and domestic gas boilers in a few years. No gas heating in our mostly damp and miserable climate – that bothers me a lot more than so-called climate change!
Not one politician is prepared to look at the world around them and question all the CO2 related claims, for fear of being called a ‘climate denier’.
Finally, the doom-mongers will probably say ‘ah yes, but the UK’s not the world, is it?’
Exactly.
If there’s no evidence of dangerous climate change here, then it’s not global, is it?

Rich people like Kerry always spend the winter somewhere warm, unless they are skiing. Some of us have to suffer thru 5 months of it and it’s NOT getting any warmer.

Back about 20 years ago, Al Gore said that the planet had only 10 years before we reached the point of no return. Recently, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that we had, at most, 12 years before the climate changes were irreversible. 20 years ago we had 10 years, now we have 12. It seems that the longer we wait, the more time we have. If we wait long enough, we’ll have 20 or even 50 years before the great Climate Catastrophe catches up with us! Patience truly is a virtue.

Best is an absolute, so by definition you can only have ONE “best” chance.
So the last best chance is the same as the first best chance. Except that if he said this is our first best chance no one would listen. If he said it was our best chance we’d say , well let’s wait a bit, we have far bigger problem right now.

The truth is he’s just reaching round for your wallet.

Xi / CCP are making the most of all these last chances .
Keeping a straight face is Xi’s specialty

If the real science truly supported the theory that Al Gore and many others have espoused this wouldn’t be so funny. Anyone who just looks at the current heating up of 1) our star the sun and 2) every other planet in our solar system, and 3) our own magma immensely heating up deep in planet Earth which is in no way possibly affected by CO2 on the surface, not to mention our historical natural weather cycles being overdue for exactly the effects we are seeing, could not help but conclude that the weather cycle we are in now is not because of CO2 emissions on the surface! The real question is why are our scientists so politically controlled.
