With the likely installation of a Biden administration comes a renewed and likely vicious climate war.
I have inside information that Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) will be pushing the Biden administration, calling for prominent climate skeptics, and climate skeptical organizations to be put on investigations and “show trials” for daring to question the consensus. There may be worse than that coming, as he seems to genuinely believe we’ve committed some sort of crime and should be punished for it. Make no mistake, it’s coming.
I suspect I’ll be personally targeted as well.
While it’s been an easy ride during the Trump administration with him pulling out of the Paris agreement, bringing the gestapo-like EPA back to sensibility, eliminating WOTUS rules, appointing prominent climate skeptics to NOAA, and many other things, we now face a renewed “in your face” series of actions by the Biden administration to make batting the invisible boogeyman of climate change not just a priority, but a declared war.
Hence, eliminating and/or neutralizing the climate skeptics. It’s war psyops 101 – eliminate/neutralize competing voices and media outlets.
To that end, I’m not going down without a fight. I hope you won’t either.
First, starting tomorrow, WUWT will be changing to a new look, something that I’ve been working on behind the scenes on for months. Here is a preview of the new look.
Second, we are likely going to have to move our hosting again. If you haven’t heard about it, the plight of the Conservative Treehouse being de-platformed by their hosting provider provides a glimpse of the likely future ahead for many climate skeptic websites if a Biden administration becomes a reality.
Third, facts are power, and to that end WUWT is launching a new, second website that will be a reference website for many climate topics, linked to the main WUWT site in the menu. It won’t be a discussion or a blog, but more like a user friendly climate wiki. Look for an announcement in the first week of January.
Finally, I’m going to need your help. We’ll need you to share stories, to help get the word out, we’ll need guest authors, we’ll need programming help, and we’ll need donations.

Which ever ‘site’ you use, you are vulnerable. I suggest building up your own stuff on a Linux system which you can then run on a rented server farm machine(s). Any pressure, you just move the whole thing to a new farm, there are hundreds of them all over world. It would take an hour. You keep an up to date local backup so even if they cut you off without warning, you have everything ready to go somewhere else, tomorrow.
The main thing will be BTL management tools, but there are open source tools for that. Pick a decent server farm and they will deal with any DOS attacks and the like.
You can get a whole lot of machine, and bandwidth, for very modest costs.

In the past, the only countries to hold show trials were Stalinist and Fascist. (There is a difference.) The 1930’s show trials in the Soviet Union laid the pattern for Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, and Musso. Great company for Democrats. But they won’t see the irony. Too dam thick. Also noted on this side of the pond is that gun shops are running out of ammunition. So if the Biden government has to resort to Agenda 21 and put UN soldiers on US streets to confiscate weapons and ammunition then the Democratic party will be finished forever.

The concept that science will prevail in the climate debate is just downright barmy.
The alarmists long ago abandoned any pretence at scientific excellence and embarked on social and political means to transmit their ‘fears’.
Wake up folks – 90% of the world doesn’t have a science degree, if any degree at all. Convincing 10% of scientists that the climate change movement is a scam is futile, they only have 10% of the votes.
This is basic common sense, fundamental politics, and conditional business philosophy. If your biggest audience has 90% of the votes, and doesn’t understand science, what sense does it make to beat them over the head with science?
As a businessman, you don’t go into the scientific minutia of how a carpet is made, you explain to folks how it will enhance their lives. So how will climate change enhance humanities life? I’m a layman and can name half a dozen ways right off the bat.
Everyone in the civilised world has a political opinion, no matter how mundane. Nor is an education of any description required to be a politician, so why exclude these people from the sceptical debate just because they don’t understand science.
There is no need and it is counterproductive.
Start talking to the 90% laymen in a language they understand and the whole climate movement will be stopped in it’s tracks very quickly.
The “layman” understands only one thing – his wallet. Especially in the US – ma money!
The supreme irony of all this is the climate junta was and is all about “high finance”, with terms laymen do not notice – like digital cash. The simply do not notice the invisible hand stripping their precious wallet.

I agree Hot Scot. Hit the uninformed with pocketbook issues. People need to know how much each green idea that is translated into things like solar panels, windmills, batteries etc is costing them personally in added federal, local, utility taxes, costs etc.
Cost comparisons between fossil fueled heating and green fueled heating should be made. Then point out by pointing fingers at the politicians who are raising costs by buying into green energy.
I know There doesn’t seem to be enough backlash for the foolishness in Germany, Australia and of course the UK. Stopping the sale of ICE cars; is Boris receiving any backlash?
One problem is that people find it hard to believe that these things will happen to them before its too late. It’s just too surreal for them. But putting it in more accessible language is a start.

As one of your earlier bloggers on WUWT and as a scientist, might I please stress how valuable WUWT has been over the years in providing an alternative emphasis on the subjects that matter to readers unsure of the validity of what they are expected to believe.
WUWT has been the important place to learn the opposing view. To me, it does not need fundamental changes to continue its value. Its growth and success over the years is the market telling you that you have the settings OK.

We’ve already seen Australian States scrabbling around with the conundrum of what will happen to their Treasuries with the demise of fuel excise and GST on it. So better to bed down some road use charging with EVs early before it gets out of hand. Now it begins to dawn on the omniscient overlords that setting a timeline for no more ICEs will cause “distortions and perverse behaviours”. Duh!

Or have you explain why spending tens of trillions on wind and solar and reducing CO2 emissions over the next century to maybe reduce the future temperature a fraction of a degree is an existential imperative.
