An an inclination to not just make things equal for themselves and the society at large, but better than equal.
Owing to that, is the multiple of smaller RMM’s that have taken to producing Internet pages of fakery and inculcate with that enormous publishing and broadcasting power their rather stressed and hyperfocused populations.
So one might find a intellect in a field far removed from climate sanity; an amateur ornithologist who sees declining populations of birds as a signal that climate is changing, and is verified by a deluge of bullshit — that mankind is having an great effect on the little birdies. When in fact, a cooling climate with more corrupted food sources, an electronic spider webs of EMF noise and industrial pollutants are a few of the real culprits. It is amazing how much of affect hummingbird feeders are having on hummingbird decline. Bird feeders in general are dangerous as they teach ever expanding populations of birdies to live off the dole and not try and scratch out a living like their much more adapted ancestors.
It seems people crave one answer, one cause for the failing/succeeding globe. The inmates are definitely running the asylum. And as the saying goes, ” There is is no fool like an old educated fool.” They are are so easy to fool.
Too many idiots have gained enormous media power, and that is the real problem. The trouble is it might take greater censorship for it to be solved. Greta Thunderpants is a pawn in a socialist insurrection designed to promote global governance through control of energy. I suspect she is more a victim than active conspirator. Focusing on her is a diversion from the need to reveal the total lack of scientific evidence supporting the alarmist narrative. The fact that alarmists promote her as a credible spokesperson for their cause is a frank admission they have no useful factual evidence to help win a debate on the science. One day in the not too distant future her name will be associated with being duped by fraudsters as in “you’ve got Greta all over your face” or “what’s that awful smell, you must have stepped in some Greta”, or “how could you have fallen for such a steaming pile of Greta”. But the fault won’t be hers, but rather her parents and all the conspirators behinds her who should have known better.
I have no problem with Greta. She is a child and one with Asperger’s too.
However, I hold her parents and whoever else is pulling her strings in contempt. But most of all I hate the despicable media for portraying Greta as the most insightful and well informed climatologist, economist and politician on the planet. She is not some Deity.

Even on that basis I think this year’s award is flawed. To influence events is to cause them to take a course they would not otherwise take without the words or actions of the influencer. So exactly what events has Greta influenced?
She’s appeared before people who already believe what she’s saying and gotten them to cheer her for saying it again. She’s convinced a bunch of NGOs who already advocate all the same policies to promote her with other people’s money. She’s convinced a bunch of students to go “on strike” from school (like they wanted to be there anyway).
In fact, everywhere she goes she is scolding people for not doing the right things or not doing enough of them. If she were having influence, you’d expect to see some people change behavior. She certainly hasn’t gotten anyone else to give up private jets or waterfront mansions.
I’m not seeing any major influence here.
Surely Professor Jordan Peterson was not Greta’s teacher back at the time she went to school. Good so, otherwise she wouldn’t have been on the front cover of Time magazine:

However, based on my life experience, I think that climate action in Europe is impossible without EU Ministry of Green Truth and Ministry of Green Peace responsible for green credit system and green militia punishing people with low credits and climate change doubters (the latter together with their families),

It is probably obvious to anyone over 25 with half a brain that Greta Thunberg has been manipulated into her screeds by older people using her to advance their agenda, portraying her as a sweet, innocent little victim of Big Oil or Big Coal or some other “evil” big business. But if she is a high school dropout, what solutions does she have for this supposed existential threat to the world? Yes, it is possible to cross the ocean on wind power, using technology available to Columbus in 1492, but could such technology support over 7 billion people today?
It’s not enough to curse the darkness, does she have enough knowledge to light a lamp?
Greta is Swedish, and most of Sweden is above 55 degrees north latitude, meaning that days are only about 7 hours long this time of year, with lots of nights well below freezing. Before Greta scolds us about “how dare” anyone burn fossil fuels, let her spend this coming winter in an unheated house in Sweden, without burning any coal, oil, or natural gas. Oh, by the way, don’t burn any wood either, even if her house is surrounded by forest, because burning wood produces more CO2 per unit energy released than coal, oil, or natural gas, and those trees she burns won’t be taking CO2 out of the air next summer!
Maybe after she spends a winter freezing in 19th-century conditions, will she appreciate why people “dare” to emit a harmless gas (CO2) whose concentration in the air has increased by 0.01% over the last century, it order to stay warm in the winter!

Times “Person of the Year” is supposed to be the most influential person of the year. Yet Greta herself has said a year has gone by and nothing has changed. So how can she be “the most influential” when by her own admission, she’s having zero effect.
I think she has an effect, on the contrary. Just not the intended one. She is VERY annoying.

I do not blame Greta for the mess we are in.
The problem is the mantra which is CAGW and a forced solution that will never work for economic and engineering reasons.
The mantra has become an out of control movement with an agenda and real power.
The CAGW movement is as dangerous as world depression and completely dysfunctional governments.
It does not matter what anyone believes. Logic and observations win, reality is different than we think.
What we are waiting for is the first unexplained drop in global temperatures.
