Guest essay by Eric Worrall
Billionaire Climate Activist and Democrat Presidential Candidate Tom Steyer has suggested the climate crisis is more frightening than what he perceives as threats to US Democracy.
… Well, let me say this. I know this is going to sound a little strange, kind of: I don’t want to be president. But I do want to do things as president. You know, I am running because I thought — until this week, I was the last person to get in. And I got in because I thought, “My God, no one’s going to tell the truth to the American people. And we’re not going to actually deal with the critical issues in front of us, and we have to.” So the two things I can tell you, for sure: one is, if I’m not the Democratic candidate, I will be supporting the Democratic candidate. Full bore. Any one of those people on that stage is a thousand times better than Mr. Trump or any of the Republicans. Really. I believe that, and I will, there is 100% probability that I will be supporting that person as hard as I can. The second thing I’d say is this: if I’m not the Democratic candidate, that doesn’t mean we aren’t in a climate crisis! We are! I’ve been fighting it for a decade and more! I’m not going to suddenly go, like, “Wooo! Hawaii, here I come!” No. And I’m not going o suddenly thing that — look, if you had told me, when I was a kid, that I thought that American democracy was at risk, and it wasn’t the scariest thing ever, I would have said, “You’re crazy! That’s the worst thing I can imagine happening. I can’t imagine anything worse than that.” That’s because I couldn’t imagine the climate crisis. But there is no way, having seen what I’ve seen, and talked to the people that I’ve talked to, and seen the cruelty exhibited towards the American people, that I’m going to stop fighting these people. No way! I don’t think of myself as a tough person, but I can tell you: I don’t like mean people. They don’t scare me. And I’m very angry about it. There is a playbook here that is cruel to Americans. Intentionally so. …

The following is a video of Steyer speaking the words quoted above;
One thing you can say about Steyer, he is refreshingly open about his intentions.
“having seen what I’ve seen, and talked to the people that I’ve talked to, and seen the cruelty exhibited towards the American people”
What has he seen, what people has he talked to and what cruelty is he talking about?
The media won’t ask him those questions but where are the business people he associates with? If I was doing business with this guy I would be asking him a few questions.
Over the years and in many conflicts around the world young Americans gave their lives to protect and preserve democracy but now climate change is more important than all that.
Tom Steyer has completely lost the plot.
Interesting that the message is that the only way to save the planet is to vote for him or vote for somebody just like him with the same message.
They insist that if you vote for Trump, the planet will be destroyed.
Great marketing scheme to get votes and have people follow them.
If we don’t do exactly what they say we must do(because they know the secrets to saving the planet-we all die).
Only they have the knowledge and power to control the weather and climate……which ironically, has been the best for life on this greening planet in the last 1,000 years, the last time it was this warm.
The current climate optimum = climate crisis
The greatly beneficial increase in CO2 = carbon pollution
Those 2 facts are settled science just like gravity because they claim that 97% of real climate scientists tell us so.
The debate is over because they can’t waste their time discussing science with a bunch of climate deniers who absurdly, use observations and empirical data when 97% of real climate scientist know that computer simulations of the atmosphere(that have been too warm) based on a speculative theory represented by mathematical equations are infallible and should get 100% of the weighting.
In fact, we should emphasize the most extreme outcomes and then dial those up a notch because the narrative is always “its worse than we thought” even while the reality continues to be never as bad as predicted.

U.N. Predicts Disaster if Global Warming Not Checked

I’ll have you know some of us are seasoned doomsday veterans whippersnapper-

What with practising crouching under the school desk when we see the flash , Arab oil crisis/Club of Rome/Ice Age a coming and Y2K plus the latest with global cooking nothing can disturb us anymore but Old Father Time 😉
Sorry to say Tom but the Comintern have deemed you’re the wrong sex for the job and it needs a woman’s touch because deep down climate change is sexist and you’re just another blinkered misogynistic old billionaire white guy at the top of the power relationships tree that will never see that-

So give up these counter revolutionary ways comrade and get onboard Greta the Great and Global Girls for Gaia and if you’re really good and behave yourself with all the correct thoughts you too can earn the right to wear a purple T-shirt-

Tom Steyer: people with a permanently fixed false smile are always selling something fraudulent.
Sadly, we’ve reached a point in the climate wars that facts no longer matter. CAGW adherents are being successfully driven by emotion. Rational discussions don’t matter and don’t happen.
When is the last time you heard a rational argument from a ‘leader’ about the existence of a crisis? I can’t remember it ever having taken place. The entire argument today is how to ‘fix the crisis’.
Once a person has bought the kool aid, they are immune to fact. They won’t do the hard work to understand the complexities. Actually, it’s doubtful they ever had the ability to grasp it, which is why they fall prey to the propaganda to begin with.
“Sadly, we’ve reached a point in the climate wars that facts no longer matter”
They never did as I worked out quite some time ago that 97% of people who believe they can change the global climate don’t know the science at all. You’re right it’s an emotional thing only but therein lies the problem for the leaders of the cause. Whenever you call for them to make sacrifices and pay for it personally their rational brain kicks in.
In that respect there’s a massive fallacy of composition problem going on and they simply expect the Gummint takes care of all that and the nasty big polluders. Well that and getting some home solar subsidies, free light bulbs and the like is fine of course. Just don’t ask them to pay for anything up front and patently obvious to them as it all has to be hidden costs.
Furthermore the prescriptions with solar wind plus electrifying or hydrogenating transport won’t ever cut it and when they don’t and the lights go out look out leadership then. We just have to be stoic and wait for the inevitable. You don’t like to see a train wreck coming but if it’s emotion they want they’ll certainly get a big dose of it then.
Jeez, give the guy a break will ya ! He’s just another fella who’s made squillions shearing the sheep, and wants to be thought of as a pious man before his entry to the Continuum is judged upon. 🙂
