Looks like Greta might make it to COP25 after all.
Let’s all wish Greta a safe journey. I’m not exactly a fan, but there is a funny side to watching Greta scold climate hypocrites at public engagements, watching all those people who pretend to care squirm and hang their heads in the face of that unrelenting glare.
There is no guarantee Madrid will be the final resting place of COP25. A month ago there were large scale protests in Spain over the rising cost of living, and there is huge anger at the Spanish Government’s heavy handed response to highly active Spanish separatist movements. If the security situation in Spain deteriorates, perhaps President Trump could make a last minute offer to rescue the COP25 climate conference, by hosting it in the USA.

An Open Letter to Greta Thunberg

“You have declared yourself a leader and said that your generation will start a revolution. You have comported yourself as a credentialed adult and climate change activist who has fearlessly addressed politicians and world leaders. You have dropped out of school and declared that there isn’t any reason to attend, or any reason for you to study since there will be no future for you to inherit. You have, rather than attend your classes, been leading Friday Climate Strikes for all students in your generation across the globe. Your attendance at oil pipelines has been striking. There, you unequivocally declare that all oil needs to remain in the ground where it belongs.
I shall, therefore, against the backdrop of your activism, address you as an adult rather than as a child.”
And ending with, some 12 paragraphs later: (the whole letter is a must read, highly recommended!)
“Your generation needs to be taught the morality of wealth creation, rather than only parasitically benefiting from it. The only revolution you will lead is one into nihilism and civilization regression. You need to learn about the moral case for fossil fuel. You owe it to yourself to understand how as, Kathleen Hartnett White has detailed, the harnessing of the vast store of concentrated energy in fossil fuels allowed mankind, for the first time in human history, to escape intractable constraints and energy limits that had left all but the very privileged in total poverty and depravity. Before the Industrial Revolution all societies were dependent on a very limited flow of solar energy captured in living plants for subsistence needs such as food, fuel and shelter.
But we, the creative enterprisers, will not go back to the Dark Ages. Your philosophy can be summed up as follows:
What was good for my anthropoid ancestors is good for me. Do not rock the boat, or even build one as that will require cutting down a tree. Do not disrupt nature. Do not dare to see the earth as rightfully belonging to us. We don’t have the right to use our brains in a manner that can transform our needs into a material form. Let’s conveniently forget that production is the application of reason to the problems of survival. Let’s all diminish the grandeur of man and his luminous potential. Crush the Thomas Edisons of this world.
The apocalyptic world vision you hold has been a strip landing for those who have hated progress throughout history. Your apocalyptic predictions have been made for millennia, and, we’re still here. We will still be here long after you’ve grown up and we have forgiven you for skipping classes, thereby lowering the intelligence quotient of an entire generation.”

I read this letter a few days ago and its brilliant, it should be repeated by the mass news media, but only if we stalk them in to posting it.
I can’t wait ’til she tells the COP25 Climate Numpties in Madrid “HOW DARE YOU!” They will be so glad they invited her.

It is time that Greta sees the REAL world.
She should be shown the door and told to PAY for her food or WORK for it.
Only then will she come to realize there is more to the world than the fantasy of global warming.
As of now she is on welfare assistance and the dumb media and politicians worship her.

I am a former fire chief and wildfire warden and would really appreciate her lifelong expertise on the that and other related subjects. Even Toyota refused to provide tangible fire fighting methods for their electric cars back in 2000.
Just like wind turbines… just let em burn.

If I’m not mistaken, her Dad and “handler” were with her in the US.
I assume they sailed with her to the US.
Will they also be sailing with her away from (Yea!) the US?
No they won’t. The catamaran Outremer 50 has accommodation for two adults, the owners, and another 2 adults or 3 children. With the nanny, the baby and Greta the boat is full. I guess her dad is already back in Sweden, by plane flown under the radar of the MSMs. If I were him I’d fly back to Copenhagen and then slip onto Sweden.

That’s 4 adults, Greta and the infant Lenny. One of the adults in Greta’s father. Of course, this could be wrong but it clearly indicates that Greta’s father will be travelling with her.
Meanwhile, as Greta sails the ocean blue, the diversity crowd back in her homeland, Sweden, are polluting the atmosphere with anything that will burn.
Those of us with ethics strive to put more into society than we take out, using that old notion of hard, productive, wealth generating-work.
A theme, shown by the players in this exercise, is consumption of wealth for no visible return. Often seen in green people and ideas. In Australia, we call it bludging. Geoff S
It seems like this is a very dangerous trip, or potentially so, and there is no way to know what will come up regarding the weather, since it takes something like three weeks.
It also seems they will be lucky to get across the ocean in time for this conference.
If it takes three weeks, that will put them on the coast of Europe on the 5th, and the COP25 is December 2-9th.
So with unfavorable winds, she could miss it.
I too suspect she may not really be on that boat, or perhaps another larger boat is accompanying them.
In a bad storm, it is easy to die in that size boat in the middle of the ocean.
Just as wind and solar require backup, so does a climahysterical-fantasy ocean crossing require backup, I suspect.
Nobody is going to die. The catamaran will move to a pre-determined rendezvous where a large freighter owned by a very rich man will hoist it aboard and it will then travel to a point off the coast of Europe where the catamaran will be placed back in the sea. The crew and passengers will then proceed to the climate shivaree and all will be well.
And only those who can count will know it.
This could be fun, she get’s to Spain just in time for COP25 to get moved back to N. or S. America, she gets another boat ride back across the Atlantic. Then as soon as she gets here, COP25 gets moved back to Europe or elsewhere, and she needs yet another boat ride back again. GRETA PONG!!!
