Well, now that I’ve boarded, and there were no extinction rebellion/climate protestors at the dock in Vancouver (a hotbed of climate activism) to shout hateful messages at us, (which wouldn’t go over well with the cruise line at all) I can tell you about it.
I’m on a week long cruise to Alaska with Mark Steyn (who fills in for Rush Limbaugh, is a best-selling author, and is embroiled in a moving-like-molasses lawsuit with butt-hurt climate zealot Dr. Michael Mann). It is one of the few perks I get as a climate skeptic, since those “big oil checks” the climate crusaders say I receive to have an opinion, never seem to arrive.
Mark graciously invited Steve McIntyre, Ross McKittrick, and me on this cruise on the condition that we talk about climate to his hundreds of other guests in a special session coming this Sunday. I’m proud to be the only American on the special “climate denier” ( or as Mark once called me, poking fun at Dr. Mann’s insults about me “Climate denier extraordinaire!” ) guest list.
It is a working trip, and I’ll be writing blog posts about my experiences, the climate of Alaska, the growing in-your-face climate denying Hubbard Glacier, and much more. I also hope to have interviews/podcasts with Mark Steyn, Steve McIntyre, and Ross McKittrick.
Mark, droll as ever, is poking fun at Dr. Mann by giving out hockey stick key-chains.
I’ll have more later, stay tuned.

The whole trip up the inside of the islands is on a par with the Norwegian coastal voyage on Hutigruten vessels.
If you have the money to spend $35 per person to ride the cable car it is. Sorry we didn’t think it was worth the money.
Yep. This would be a great cruise. Mark needs to sponsor a trip to Churchill to see the polar bears. My brother’s going to Churchill in October with a famous (or infamous) travel/education organization. One look at the propaganda …er, I mean information seminars made me cringe. There’s no way I’d pay 8 large to stay in dormitory facilities and be preached that trash.
I’d consider a day trip from Winnipeg maybe.

The polluting end of tourism: Environmentalist pushes for cruise ship ban in Vancouver harbour
A B.C. environmentalist is calling for an outright ban on cruise ships coming into Vancouver’s harbour.
The push is in an effort to help reduce the impact of the vessels’ carbon footprint.
“We are destroying our oceans with plastic, with pollution, with noise, with everything,” Danika Dinsmore with Extinction Rebellion Sunshine Coast tells NEWS 1130.

Can you find out why polar bears have evolved with BLACK NOSES? Book “Arctic Dreams” has a solution but I’m not sure.
Is it not the case that the skin is all black, just the hair that is white? And hair on your nose would make you sneeze all the time so your prey would hear you long before they saw a black nose, which would be counter productive, for you anyway if not the prey.
I’m insanely jealous! What a team!
Just keep an eye out for low-flying walruses, perhaps wear a cycle helmet just in case.
