The young Frenchman attempted to speak for all of Europe before stating that France as a member state “opposes” the EU-US deal, before urging other member states to “fight” with Paris. He told his Twitter followers: “We defend an exemplary Europe for the climate. France opposes the launching of a trade negotiation with the United States that is outside the Paris Agreement. “This fight, France does not wear it alone but it must make his voice heard in a moment of truth. It is the long-term European project that is at stake. “France will continue to raise its climate commitment, with concrete proposals: reduction of pesticides, carbon neutrality in 2050, food safety.”
His demand for Europe-wide backing was widely mocked on social media.
One Twitter user said: “Sir, look at your economic results before teaching everyone. Pathetic, loss of credibility and inaudible.”
He added a laughing emoji at the end of his scathing reply.
Another, referring to the next elections in France, warned: “In 2020, it will be on again.”
Another commenter, referring to Mr Macron himself, said:
“Whenever he speaks he does the opposite or he lies it’s a crazy thing if there was a scale of hypocrisy it would be the Macron scale.”
Despite the 41-year-old’s snub of the talks between Washington and Brussels, the EU is going ahead with them regardless because all the other 27 member states gave them the green light.

“if there was a scale of hypocrisy it would be the Macron scale.” Of course ! In France, we are ashamed of Macron – we call him “Micron”, “moron” is better, but only in english ! – and we know that his election was a true coup with the scandalous eviction of the right wing candidate Fillon to have face to face the stupid Marine Le Pen and Micron. Micron is eurocrats’ puppy ! And the yellow vests know that ! He is always doing to tarnish France. We hope his resignation and then the frexit to recover our freedom and to go out the EU, this jail of the european nations!
I wish you bonne chance with frexit. It is my affection for Europe that makes me a foe of the anti-democratic EU.
Wouldn’t it be ironic if the elites in Westminster find that they nullified democracy only to have the French collapse the core of the project?
More of the progressive finger meme.
Notice how frequently progs are portrayed with the ‘finger’.
I blame his mother, for his nonsense ideas, he should have got married and stopped living at home with the past generation….. what’s that you say? That woman he lives with is not his mother, she’s his wife….!!
I rest my case.
Macron: a would-be Napoleon in diapers and a pacifier in his mouth. I’m reminded of this Bugs Bunny cartoon:

The US is one of the very few countries that is reducing CO2 emissions (though unnecessarily), and is the only country that is also enjoying a robust economy.
Canada’s Left is just as weird.
One of PM Trudeau’s arguments against pipeline construction is that construction workers have “toxic masculinity”. This would upset communities near pipeline projects.
The overall Left prevents pipelines from Alberta to the East Coast, preferring that oil tankers to that benighted region will continue to threaten the pristine waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
However, new pipelines to the West Coast are not allowed because more tankers would threaten the pristine waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The 75th Anniversary of D-day Normandy is coming June, 6th and Macron and Trump will most likely be sharing a stage for the event along with other European leaders. Now as then, the US holds by far the heaviest economic hammer and the use of that hammer will determine the fate of the largest European economies in the coming years. The Europeans are negotiating from a position of weakness. Their socialist economies are limping along with investment dollars that once flowed into their economies instead flowing into the US because of the much greater potential for return on investment. The pressure is only going to get worse for them and here we see Macron biting at the ankle of the nation that will have the most significant role in determining the economic future of France. https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2019/04/12/g20-to-trump-all-our-economies-are-belong-to-you/
I don’t think most Americans realize just how great the transition has been on the world economic front since Trump took office. They don’t know because the general press isn’t informing them and works hard to cast every shadow they can on this Administration. But their deceptions do not change the hard facts that the EU, Japan, and China are now operating in a world where the balance of economic power has been shifting to the US because of this administrations tough stances on trade and that all indications are that shift will continue.
Mr Macron is probably still miffed about Mr Trump brushing dandruff off his shoulder
It’s high time mummy’s boy Macaroon was booted out of office. Let’s hope TrueDough goes the same way…
That can also be a strategy to continue the tradition of heavy French protectionism for farm products.
As is pointed out, it is an EU decision, not his. (Perhaps he should campaign for Frexit. lol)
Every politician loves to rant on a subject they are not actually able to make the decision about.
The Macron scale of hypocrisy: Is that a linear or a logarithmic scale? We need to decide!
From another point of view, if Macron doesn’t like the EU negotiating tariffs with the US he is free to lead the French in a “Frexit”. Maybe we can invent something catchier. He probably wouldn’t do that however because the Brits did it first – nothing is more humiliating to a Frenchman that admitting that the English did it first!
