Some people just don’t know when to be contrite after a epic and devastating loss. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one of those people.
Speaking at a House Financial Services Committee meeting on Tuesday, the embattled representative went on a tirade, angrily countering accusations that her Green New Deal was “elitist”, due to the humongous $93 trillion price tag associated with it.
She also reminded her many critics that just a year ago she was working as a waitress and had gotten health insurance for the first time in her life only just a month ago, thanks to her election to congress.

Yes, well…ahem, floods and wildfires have been around long before mankind built towns and cities on floodplains or communities in forests, such as what happened with the tragedy in Paradise, CA in November 2018.

To be fair to AOC, she is probably saying things that she believes because she was taught them in University. My daughter came home from University and told me that she had been taught that ‘deregulation’ was about removing safety regulations. Her own mother had worked in the trucking industry and during deregulation knew that it was about allowing freer competition. If I had not set her straight she would never know different. What bothers me is that I’m sure she was taught and believes a lot of other lies. Lies that I know are not true because I’ve live through the events, but she did not.

I think she is convinced she owns the moral highground. A common trait for those on the Left.
Thinking you occupy the moral highground is not bad in itself. It’s only bad when you think you are morally superior to those who don’t look at the world the way you do, and you reach the conclusion that therefore they are immoral and worthy of contempt and worse.

She is doing tremendous damage – notices how she mixes in real concerns like health insurance, debt, and implies it’s because of CO2? This reeks of a clique that refuses any kind of national approach to real problems – she is a shill for Wall Street/London.
She has tarred FDR’s New Deal, and Glass Steagall so it’s obvious where she comes from. FDR had enemies , witness the Business Plot to oust him that whistleblower Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler smashed.
Now look at the attempted coup that Trump has just now avoided. Trump, like FDR demands massive infrastructure, campaigned on Glass-Steagall.

So how did she get away without paying income taxes and avoiding Obamacare? All of the citizens I know have to pay taxes and swear they had health insurance for the last reporting year. Is AOC income so low she didn’t have to file? Then she missed out on all that money in federal earned income tax credits. Proving, once again, she’s not too smart. She also missed out on the NY state and NYC low income tax credits. Proving, once again, she’s not too smart.
But, I really want to know how she avoided Obamacare.

Honestly she needs to have a truly hard professional job (i.e. not bar-tending) that requires real mental effort and commitment to succeed before becoming a member of congress. With no basis in reality, she is useless in her position.
Seems to me AOC used to refer to herself as a former BARTENDER. Now she says she used to be a WAITRESS. ‘Must be the leftist word police pointed out it’s better to say you were a waitress than a bartender. But, if she were really “woke,” wouldn’t she say she used to be a “server”?

In todays social media world the goal is hits and likes, period. She is succeeding brilliantly, earning her pay from who ever is funding her. She is even on WUWT. My guess look for her to run in 2028 or 2032 for POTUS.

Religious cult doctrines or belief systems are treated as unquestionable and infallible by its members, and that is what we are getting here from Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez. That is one of the warning signs. If she understood science, that lack of hard questions about climate alarmism from science, politics, academia, the media and elsewhere would raise red flags of suspicion. But when you are already sucked in, you don’t look for them.
I don’t know offhand how many times humanity and the planet have been doomed as prophesied by various groups and individuals throughout human history. But, as ABBA says in their hit song “Waterloo,” the history book on the shelf is always repeating itself. Ignorance of history dooms you to repeat is mistakes.
Right know, there are a lot of people out there (including AOC) that are demonstrating the reality of that statement. Sadly, it will perhaps be a long time before they realize it, if ever.

I am going to take a wild guess here:
I don’t think AOC ever intended to get into politics. I believe throughout college her goal was the entertainment industry. (Going to protest demonstrations was a “cool” thing to do.)
– Witness the video that was leaked (I don’t think her handlers were too happy about that) of her dancing (quite well).
– When she can calm herself down she has a very credible delivery; and she can clearly memorize lines.
– Unfortunately for Alexia, she has a very thin skin and is prone to “overacting” with exaggerated hand arm movements when she gets excited and goes off script. (Her natural intelligence shines through in those moments.)
– What is the usual job for someone waiting and hoping for their chance to break into show business? (No, “US Congressional Representative” was not the job I was going for.)
Her basic weakness is that she is exceedingly stupid. So stupid she can’t understand the reason people laugh at her ideas. Green New Deal – cost many trillions, who knows how much. But if the atempt is to elimiante emissions from power genration and transportation THEN : electric cars are the obvious future and will eliminate almost all ICE vehicles just as soon as battery prices drop significantly below $100 per kWhr.
So there is no need for govt to spend any money transforming the transporation sector. If we include existing hydro power and existing nuclear in our brave new world, then we only need to build about $900 billion worth of molten salt small nuclear rectors to provide the additional power needed for everything, including power for our electric vehicles. That’s it!!!! See how simple it is?
