Hilarious! @weatherchannel reporter fakes intensity of #HurricaneFlorence wind – gets caught

You can’t make this stuff up. The Weather Channel typically sends a reporter to hurricane landfalls to file live reports. Hurricane Florence is no exception. However, in this case although it appears in the video the reporter can barely stand up in the wind, but when the camera zooms out, his fakery is revealed.

h/t to Ronnie Rogers via Facebook

Update: Attemptng to save face, TWC made a statement to BuzzFeed about the fiasco:

“It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1:00 a.m. ET this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted,” the network said.

Update2:

Here is a better video.

Just as FAKE … just as FABRICATED … as the Puerto Rican hurricane DEATH “TOLL” … attributed to PDJT.

The Puerto Rico “death toll” was arrived at using a computer model. The people who did the report did not do an actual body count. That’s how fake this story is.

Side Note:
I just noticed the “like” thing is gone. It’s behaving like the old system.
Did I miss an announcement?

Also, “Leave a Reply” is back on the bottom like it used to be on the “old system” instead of on the top where it has been with the “new system”.

Ditto. Also gone is the checkbox for notification of replies. Instead, the old, unsatisfactory checkboxes are in place, whereby one can either sign up for all comments on this thread or all notifications of future threads.

It looks like the WUWT website has reverted back to the old setup. I like the new setup much better.

The Weatherchannel reporter is very likely ‘unbalanced’, perhaps needing the support of a psychiatrist. Other alternatives could include recent excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages or perhaps he’s just a downright dishonest climate alarmist. My best guess is all three.

Really, was Florence ever a category 4 hurricane? They say it was, when there was nobody to see it. Once it hits land, it’s just a tropical storm, i.e. cat 0. Maybe in fact it was never more than a cat 1. What are the chances the climatistas are hyping everything?

Oh well, if nothing else, I got to watch something of interest on the Weather Channel, instead of my usual fare of switching between Fox and MSNBC.

Then all his traffic could migrate to your blog, you have one don’t you ??
My quick search turned up nothing.

That is not to say you can’t disagree, but show some respect.

“BS Smear” The statement by the WC on this video said nothing about his age and alleged stability problems with wind.

The only BS and smear here might be from @njsnowfan. Perhaps you should consider changing your screen name to @njsnowJOBfan

The only BS around here is the nonsense you posted about the reporter being old and frail. Not even the weather channel was willing to trout out that nonsense when they trotted out the nonsense about him being on the grass (you can see one of the guys in the background also walking on the grass without difficulty).

so either
1) the weather channel was “faking it” as everyone watching the video can see for themselves (in which case you are the one pedaling BS)
or
2) the weather channel is intentionally putting old and frail people into situations that could be harmful to their wellbeing.

not a good look for the weather channel in either case.

September 14, 2018 3:19 pm

Yup!

Just heard one of their doofuses report the maximum wind gust recorded at the airport; then finish his sentence with,”But, I can guarantee there are 75mph+ gusts mixed into the winds…

He’s also pretending to “stand against the wind”, except he keeps straightening and standing easily as he looks around.

Weather Channel for chumps: 90 percent show and 10% good radar images.

Watch the Weather Channel’s storm surge virtual reality, and then compare it to the pictures of unimpressive damage in reality, here:-

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-45517260

(This is not intended to insult people who have suffered from this event, it is of course horrible, it is a comment on the hysterical exploitation of this event and those who have suffered by the MSM and climate change activists – there is almost a sense of celebration in the BBC’s declaration that it is now a ‘deadly’ hurricane.)

People should stop using the word “horrible” except in its intended meaning, such as if your family is chased by a pack of wolves then that’s “terror”, and when the wolves are among you then that’s “horror”.

The wind is so light the reporter doesn’t have a sense of which way to (fake) brace himself. The wind is right to left and he is bracing to the left.

September 14, 2018 4:44 pm

Yeah reality does not provide for their sustenance. So they throw BULLSHIT Balls all the time. At 4AM this morning I assume I’m not the only one who noticed the 10″ tree that was snapped off on their on the scene show , about 2/3 of the thing was diseased.Dont be a subliminal receptor, television tends to do the thinking and processing for you.And quite frankly,DR Handjive who moves his arms in-sync with his lips is damn annoying.

Been interesting watching Florence’s wind levels slowly reducing, the MSM seem dissapointed they havent got a disaster to confirm their biases.

A while ago we were visiting NYC and after a day or two it was reported a storm /potential hurricane was coming. The media went into full DEFCON4 mode, cub reporters were reporting from fishing dinghies reporting on a slight chop (seriously if its going to be that bad what are you doing out there in that?), then the best one was a reporter talking from the beach with the wind picking up alledgedly. The camera panned backed and there were two kids throwing around a beach ball and a couple sunbaking, looking at her like she was from another planet.

I happened upon the Harrison Ford Climate Summit clip where, in his new costume as gray-bearded kook, Harrison tells us to stop denying science. Yet, I read today, all over the internet, that Trump is partially responsible for this hurricane. I ask, Could anything more clearly be a denial of science than the think Trump can control a hurricane?

They have atrributed 5 deaths to the storm including one froa heart attack. SO if you have a heart attack while a hurricane is hanging ariound, it gets blamed?

“SO if you have a heart attack while a hurricane is hanging ariound, it gets blamed?”

Yup; the idea is that if there hadn’t been a storm, he wouldn’t have been working, or stressing.

It’s like that everywhere. Several firefighters have been killed in the recent California wildfires. They weren’t fighting the fires, but they were driving on the freeways TO the fire zones. Still counts as a fire-related death. Because if there hadn’t been a fire, they would have been home in bed, or watching TV or something.

By that method of accounting, we have to subtract the number of fatal car wrecks that do not occur because everyone is hunkered down and most are off the roads.
Roughly three people per state per day are killed in car wrecks.
So anything under that is a net savings of lives.

I think if the storm prevented the ambulance getting to the victim, yes it is considered a hurricane death…. when a republican is president.

So if President Trump is somehow responsible for Hurricane Florence, perhaps then he was responsible for the recent ten years of diminished US hurricane activity too? Impressive.

Eye of tropical storm Florence is now on the coast of South Carolina. It moves to the west at a speed of just 7 km / h. The wind is blowing at speeds up to 100 km / h.
