NEW YORK – President Donald Trump’s withdrawal of the United States from the Paris climate agreement is not just dangerous for the world; it is also sociopathic. Without remorse, Trump is willfully inflicting harm on others. The declaration by Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the United Nations, that Trump believes in climate change makes matters worse, not better. Trump is knowingly and brazenly jeopardizing the planet.
Trump’s announcement was made with a bully’s bravado. A global agreement that is symmetric in all ways, across all countries of the world, is somehow a trick, he huffed, an anti-American plot. The rest of the world has been “laughing at us.”
These ravings are utterly delusional, deeply cynical, or profoundly ignorant. Probably all three. And they should be recognized as such.

Here’s more simple truth: With its large, rich, fossil-fuel-intensive economy, the US has done more than any other country to bring about the global peril of climate change, so it should accept its responsibility in helping to get us all out of danger. At a minimum, America should be eagerly cooperating with the rest of the world.
Instead, Trump’s sociopathic behavior, and the corruption and viciousness of those surrounding him, has produced utter disdain for a world nearing the brink of human-made catastrophe. The next human-caused climate disasters should be named Typhoon Donald, Superstorm Ivanka, and Megaflood Jared. The world will not forget.
What a nasty anger filled rant.
I can understand a climate true believer directing criticism towards President Trump. But to include his family – what influence did Jared have over President Trump’s Paris decision? What did Jared do to be included in Professor Sachs’ nasty rant, other than to have a father in law for whom Professor Sachs cannot contain his hatred?

The real problem with this righteous preaching is that large constituencies in the US completely disagree with Professor Sachs’ position, and even if they do believe that he is right, it does not rate very high on their list of priorities. There is a fundamental disconnect between what these elites think we require and what the populace wants. The US is correct to defund the UN sponsored soap boxes from which these self righteous ideologues preach until such time that a calmer, more rational conversation can be had on what to do about managing environmental threats, from whatever cause.

I read the referred wikipedia — poverty and hunger are the game plane of several international agencies including World Bank. They talk and talk spend billions but nothing comes out from that. FAO another UN agency recently started discussing this issue wherein I put my thoughts also, says around 30% of the food produced is going as waste. In India this is 40-50%. This causes wastage of natural resources used to produce that much food. To minimise this waste needs good governance. UN Or any international bodies can not create a good governance. People elect them with a fond hope that they serve to improve their life which rarely the reality. Let me give a case of India: UPA government brought out a food security bill but this was not implemented by the later NDA government. So where is the role of UN in poverty and hunger except spending billions and billions of dollars on something with zero out put.

Jeffrey Sachs is a long-time associate of former IPCC chairman Pachauri and George Soros and was an advisor to Ban Ki Moon.
Soros announced an investment of $1 billion in “green” technology at a meeting on climate change sponsored by this same Project Syndicate in Copenhagen in December 2009. “He said, “I want to apply rather stringent criteria to the investments. They should be profitable but should also actually make a contribution to solving the problem.”
Soros was for some time a member of the Columbia University Earth Institute external advisory board, along with Rajendra Pachauri. He supported Sachs’ Millennium Villages Project to around $100 million
