It was only 5 years ago that WUWT was the site/name not to be spoken. That was a ‘quarter of a billion views’ ago.

They are not SUPPOSED to ban accounts for political reasons, but do. Or at least they do until called on it by a sufficiently large public reaction.

I don’t think it’s Gavin at all. He actually interacts with Tom far more often than you might expect. Based on his history I’m sure the despicable Michael Mann is behind the harassment.

They do not ban accounts for political reasons

eh, untrue

The Twitter Rules
Twitter reserves the right to immediately terminate your account without further notice in the event that, in its judgment, you violate these Rules

“Political reasons” are not even mentioned under Rules. Reinstating a single account is not enough to remedy the situation any more.
Twitter Rules &. Terms of Services have to be rewritten ASAP to include something resembling to a Due Process instead of preposterous language like “reserves the right […] immediately […] without further notice […] in its judgment”.
Otherwise they shall have to be driven out of business.

I’d love to change the world
But I don’t know what to do
So I’ll leave it up to Jeff

Also, remember to check out the lunar eclipse!

Not sure how Twitter pays their bills, but the occasional “twitterstorm” probably don’t hurt.

Thanks to all who raised a ruckus.
Thanks to Jeff at Twitter who brought the ruckus to the attention of higher-ups.
Considering Alarmists seem increasingly flagrant in their disregard of all data, facts, and indeed all Skeptical arguments, it is nice to see an old fashioned ruckus is still regarded worth responding to.

the English language is a wonderful thing there are apparently words that describe nuances of meaning. “oversight ” probably means there was something that you were aware of but forgot about it when you did a thing. The better word would be malfunction or some word that communicates ” inherent fault “

Delhi Police get results!
1 April: Economic Times India: Raghav Ohri: “No evidence” to back Rajendra Pachauri’s claim of being victim of hacking:
Delhi Police
NEW DELHI: In what appears to be a setback for former UN climate panel chief Rajendra Pachauri, the Delhi Police has found “no
evidence” to back his claim that he had been a victim of hacking…
“Now during preliminary inquiries and CDR analysis no evidence came on record that his mobile phone and other equipments have been hacked during conversation with complainant,” according to the police report. The report also alleges that Pachauri has “changed his stand” after the police failed to unearth any evidence of hacking..
“Now Dr Pachauri has intimated vide letter March 6 that ‘I wish to bring to your kind attention that my personal e-mail accounts were easily accessible to the staff at my office, as I did not type long-emails personally’,” as per the report which was submitted last week.
The Police have told the Court that “this change in stand indicates that Dr Pachauri had filed the previous complaint of hacking to counter the complaint/FIR filed against him and managed to seek the interim relief by misleading the facts before the Court”…

they don’t ban for political reasons, eh? Funny how these incidents all seem to go one way. Perhaps someone knows of a person being banned for bland statement of a position on the other side of the “political” spectrum, or even just on this issue?

Keep in mind the phrase …[Tweitter]”do not ban accounts for political reasons”…It will be necessary to repeat or, better, quote, it to these henchmen of free speech rather sooner than later.

To me, the finger points at Gavin, especially when you read his reaction to it. He could probably tell us who it was, with his closeness to Twitter, if it wasn’t him.
