Why doesn't Lewandowsky study this phenomenon?

One of the favorite smears from Dr. Stephan Lewandowsky used to try to diminish the arguments of climate skeptics is to create dodgy psuedo-scientific psychological studies with a bent on trying to prove that skeptics are conspiracy theorists. Except for the extremely gullible, such bleatings don’t appear to have any traction. But he does keep trying.

Meanwhile, right in front of his nose, there is a regular parade of conspiracy theory linkages happening daily. For example, get a load of this latest claim from Dr. Michael Mann:

Mann_koch_dinnerfor2

You just have to laugh at the idea that the Koch brothers are paying people to write the sort of comments (27) as of this writing that appear on the Phys.org article: http://phys.org/news/2013-10-people-dont-high-climate.html

I dunno, how does one “smell” Koch in those comments? Is it anything like trained animals that can spot certain scents?

Practically every day now Dr. Mann imagines some Koch brothers connection to people who have honest disagreements about climate. Recall these recent ventures into conspiracy theory land:

Mann_libel_koch

Which I answer here: The other divergence problem – climate communications

It’s part of Mann’s recurring theme:Mann overboard! Pot, kettle, conspiracy edition

The reality is, Koch even contributes to Dr. Mann’s University: Oh the pain! #Kochmachine is in many American universities, including Penn State

IMHO, I think Dr. Mann needs to seek professional help for this affliction where he sees the Koch Brothers climate influence under every virtual rock and tree on the Internet. If nothing else, this affliction would make a good clinical case study for some psychologist.

Now watch, someone will alert Dr. Mann to this writing, and he’ll tweet something about it with some added smear, or retweet something from one of his followers along the same lines. It’s as sure as the sun rises in the morning, I don’t even need a computer model.

A confession: I receive $10 from the Koch brothers for every comment I post here and on other climate blogs. For every 100 comments, I receive a lifetime supply of TurtleWax©. For every 1000 comments, I receive an all-expenses paid trip to Branson, Missouri. And if I can manage to leave 100,000 comments, the Koch brothers told me they will personally come to my house to mow my lawn and cook me dinner.
Not sure how Mike knew this, but I think the jig’s up. I’ll give Chuck and Davey a call to let them know — they’re going to be so disappointed.

“Is Antony Watts the best front man the Koch brothers can buy?”
Okay I’m sure Mr Watts is anxiously awaiting his first check from the Koch Bros but to be honest if they were to “buy” someone (it’s actually called hiring Mikey) they could do a lot worse. Given what Antony and his band of merry men have accomplished on a shoestring I’d hire the lot at the drop of a hat if I could.

Hahahaha
Mr Watts, you are evil. Can’t we just all see Mann now. He desperately doesn’t want to mention this thread, so as to prove you wrong. Yet he wants to crow that you are wrong, yet if he does then you are right. Oh, the agonies of being The Mann.

Like St Gore and others Mann is great , can you image how much harder AGW sceptics would have to work if ‘the causes ‘ prophets came across as reasonable , claim and intelligent people rather than half-mad , ranting nutters as ready to throw an insult as to say hello.
Keep up the good work Mann.

“What do the Koch brothers smell like?”
To you and I, they would smell of Old Spice.
But to the *WITCHSMELLER PURSUIVANT* they would smell like …uh …
uh…. BEELZEBUBBLES!

He’ll probably sue the Kochs for personal injury if we manage to launch the rumor that they are using a penis shrink ray on their critics.

Well as we now know, it is lightning that wears away rocks; not water !
