White House deletes factual Tweet about presidential hurricanes

This makes you wonder what the White House sees as threatening about this information?

Now let’s check the hurricanes for these periods:

I’ve made screencaps of the two presidential terms of Grover Cleveland and totaled the numbers of hurricanes as listed by NOAA:hurricanes_grover_cleveland1

I count 27, rather than Goddard’s  26 (Note: 27 if you include the 1888 TS that NOAA included in the list of hurricanes, I’m guessing some post facto revision of this “hurricane six“) but the point remains the same. During President Obama’s term, Jan 20th 2009 to present, there have been only three US landfalling hurricanes according to the same NOAA data:

I find it interesting that NOAA puts in the disclaimer about Sandy, their exact disclaimer:

* – Indicates that the hurricane center did not make a U.S. landfall (or substantially weakened before making landfall), but did produce the indicated hurricane-force winds over land. In this case, central pressure is given for the time that the hurricane winds along the coast were the strongest.

Even though it didn’t make landfall, although it did affect the USA, but is listed, we will count it, Irene is also debatable, for weak wind speeds, but we’ll go with what NOAA says here.

The point is that there’s been far worse periods of US landfalling hurricanes during presidential terms, and that’s a fact.

Obama is also presiding over the longest ever period of major hurricane drought (Cat3 or greater) without making US landfall. From Dr. Roger Pielke Jr:

The graph above provides an update to data on the remarkable ongoing US “intense hurricane drought.” When the Atlantic hurricane season starts next June 1, it will have been 2,777 days since the last time an intense (that is a Category 3, 4 or 5) hurricane made landfall along the US coast (Wilma in 2005). Such a prolonged period without an intense hurricane landfall has not been observed since 1900.

Why is the White House afraid of these facts?

Eliza, while I agree with most of what you said, the Barack Hussein Obama administration is perpetrating so much damage on our liberty, that to get him out on what you perceive to be a mere technicality (a Constitutional REQUIREMENT, as pointed out), would have prevented (and could still prevent) untold harm. That is, in this case, the birthplace issue is of VITAL importance. Sadly, it became un-PC among an influential coterie of short-sighted, eager-to-be-seen-as-“cool,” conservative journalists to mention the topic anymore. So, we don’t.

The Man With Biggest Carbon Footprint In The World most likely reported Steven’s tweet as spam, which should remove it from their timeline, but not from Steven’s. I can see the reply if I look at the timeline on Steven’s twitter page, but not the Twitter feed of many who has 41,000 metric ton carbon footprint.
Deleted or simply reported as spam (there could be programs which can block from timeline, haven’t searched), it is extremely disturbing that someone in the WH would do that.
Oh, and rather disturbing that someone probably gets a very nice salary for keeping track of Twitter for the WH.

A pretty disingenuous statement if you ask me. President Obama has only served one full term during the active hurricane season. So, let’s do some fact-checking

Mark T: You’ve fallen for one of the biggest disinformation campaigns regarding the meaning of NBC which conflates it with the 14th. The 14th amendment has absolutely nothing to do with NBC and it can’t based on principles of Constitutional legal construction where earlier words/phrases can’t lose their meaning unless explicitly changed and the 14th didn’t change Article 2 Clause 5. There were 3 types of citizens before the 14th. The vast majority were NBCs. A few old folks were still article 2 clause 5 Citizens of the United States (mostly prior British Subjects who supported the revolution), and the rest were naturalized citizen by Congressional acts. The 14th amendment was only intended for freed slaves, but “subject to the jurisdiction” which was intended and discussed during debates by the writers to mean total jurisdiction has been distorted and recently used by the NBC disinformation campaign of both major political parties. It’s not hard to do but requires review outside of the propaganda machine. In some ways it is similar to the climate catastrophe propaganda campaign that this site has done so much to expose.
