WUWT milestone – 1 million comments

At about 4:26PM PST, moderator Dave Stealey approved sent me notice (on my cellphone) of our 1 millionth comment on WUWT.

Who was it? See the screencap.

WUWT_Comment_1Million

Comment 1 million is at the top of the list. Regular commenter “Jimbo” was oh so close, at comment 999,999.

My sincere thanks to Dave, who was watching for this when I couldn’t, as well as our entire WUWT moderation team, and of course, you the readers and commenters.

I’ll contact Poptech privately on where to send his coffee mug.

I’m not sure if I’m the only one who missed it until now, but in case anyone else out there has been oblivious like me, we can order WUWT mugs:

As we are all contributors, we are all recipients of the coffee mug.
Be sure to put it on your resume.
Where do I download my certificate? I want to post a picture of it on FB.

If humans had 8 fingers and 8 toes, we would have celebrated the 262,144th comment. If we had 12 fingers and 12 toes we would have to wait for the 2,985,984th comment to celebrate. Personally, I wish humans had 16 fingers and 16 toes. Learning to use hexadecimal would be so much easier.

KnockJohn, thanks for the correction, that is what I get for being up for 24 hours straight.

See this is what you get for the arduous effort of compiling 1,100 sceptical papers. A coffee mug.
What, you don’t like me appending unrelated datasets? But, but, but I learned this trick from impeccable climate scientists!
A well earned well done to Poptech from me!

LOL and I was thinking about updating the list recently but was foiled by Climategate 3, so it will have to wait a little while. These two quotes are rather fitting right now, one from Climategate 3 and the other about my list,
“Analyses like these by people who don’t know the field are useless. A good example is Naomi Oreskes work.” – Tom Wigley, Fellow, American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
Wow, the list is pretty impressive …It’s Oreskes done right.”
– Luboš Motl, Ph.D. Theoretical Physics
