Climate Craziness of the Week – Forbes Steve Zwick loses it

Steve Zwick
Steve Zwick

Wow, it doesn’t get much uglier than this. In my opinion, this is hate speech. Steve Zwick writes in his Forbes column:

We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies.  Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay.  Let’s let their houses burn.  Let’s swap their safe land for submerged islands.  Let’s force them to bear the cost of rising food prices.

They broke the climate.  Why should the rest of us have to pay for it?

People who doubt the magnitude of CO2/AGW driven climate change broke the climate?

I suppose then that Mr. Zwick has never driven a car, never taken an airplane trip, never heated or cooled his home, never bought products produced overseas and shipped here, never grilled at a BBQ, or never used electricity to power his computer to write his litany of hate for Forbes. No, he’s apparently not used any CO2 producing modern convenience at all, which is why he bizarrely believes he has some sort of moral high ground.

His hypocrisy is beyond description. His full essay is here.

For those who wish to complain about his hate speech against fellow Americans, see the Forbes Contact page here.

As for his points about the Yale poll trying to make us all fear the weather as some human caused machination of climate, read this.

UPDATE: Warren Meyer offers a thoughtful rebuttal in Forbes here

Gee. And some folks wonder why gun sales have gone thru the roof. Zwicky and the rest of that cult is one reason why.

My opinion of Zwick:

They will and are beclowning themselves..

Brilliant rebuttal by Warren Meyer.

Thanks for pointing it out, Anthony. A good read.

“We are winning”; perhaps in the withered realm of rational human beings, however, torch wielding mobs and murderous zealots aren’t known for their highly developed rational qualities.

, I am a former Fire Chief and have very serious concerns regarding his comments about burning houses down. In fact, it would be wise to look into suspicious fire activity where he served as in some cases (unfortunately), firefighters are also arsonists. His comment raises deep concerns and may be considered unlawful (seriously so) under new laws.

I wrote to Forbes, and I encourage others to do the same:

Dear Editors:
I am well known in the climate world for discussing and researching climate science, or what Steven Zwick calls “creating the lies”. About me, he says:

We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies. Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay. Let’s let their houses burn. Let’s swap their safe land for submerged islands. Let’s force them to bear the cost of rising food prices.

Is this what Forbes has come to, a platform for revenge on people that your writers might disagree with? Let my house burn? That is not freedom of speech, that is shouting “Fire” in a crowded theatre.
For shame, Forbes. This call for mob vigilante action is a blot and a stain on your good name.

Well, isn’t that special? Zwick offers the “final solution” to the “denier” problem. Where have we heard that before………

it’s only a prediction, it’s only the unreliable Met Office (tho with WeatherAction concurring), it’s only weather, it’s possibly further hyped by the Tele, but it’s the stuff that gives Zwick nightmares so i’ll post it!
19 April: UK Telegraph: “Coldest May in 100 years”, forecasters predict
Britain could be facing the coldest May for 100 years, with snow, bitter winds and freezing temperatures putting summer on hold

Hmmmm…from looking at him and Mann and Hansen I had a revelation, baldness causes global warming. Seriously, seems like compensation for something.
It is depressing how so many engage in these totalitarian fantasies. I know about Godwin’s law and such but jeez, the parallels are remarkable and unavoidable. Closet dictators fantasizing about shoving skeptics int the gulag.

April 19, 2012 3:42 pm

First Gleick, now Zwick. Can’t Forbes find a rational believer in mann-made climate catastrophe?
But I suppose there are no rational believers in that nonsense.
[As a long time Forbes subscriber, I wrote the editors a letter very similar to Willis’.]

Zwick is just upset that he did not get the part of Larry in the new Stooges Movie and taking it out on climate realists.

A tedious rant, but at least one point was correct:
“Well that doesn’t wash, because the evidence is there right now for anyone who does their homework, and it has been for some time. What’s also there is a very public record of who has been lying to the public and who hasn’t – and it’s time to start using this information to make the liars and shirkers pay.”
Describes the CAGW cult to a T.

Anthony Watts is a wonderful man, I shall not sully his website by saying what I really think. Zwick is a {self snipped}, a {self snipped}. and a {self snipped}. There, I feel better.

So, conversely, when I get to the point of choosing between feeding my kids or keeping them warm or doing their laundry or getting to work to pay for it all, because fuel is at “European levels” or my electric rates “are necessarily going to skyrocket”, I can go burn Steve’s house down???!!! What kind of sociopath is this guy??

The task now it to make the Left own these guys as historically documented officially sponsored spokesmen for their political party, period. To stay objective about it only two quirks of unbridled human nature need be considered: social bubbles and psychological projection, both infantile and worthy of rightfully condescending pity at first, then of sharp mockery and dismissal.
That simple multi-century real thermometer records exist (along with a simple average if real tide gauges) that fully debunk AGW claims exist but have been sidelined by skeptics and warmists alike in favor of mutully emphasized arcane statistical nitpicking continues to mark this period as a mere bicker fest rather than a clear confrontation between fraud and common sense. Kids indoctrinated by Gore’s classroom movie will merely condem goofy old people rather than tell stories of heroes and villains, given that all the statistics involved offer an excuse that, well, things were uncertain, and at least one side cared enough to sound the alarm about dying polar bears.
Principled pacifism and sissified whining are silent whispers, politically. Be Brietbart!

Sounds to me, like Zwick was having a bad day, indeed we all do but then, when one is having a terrible day – one should stay well away from the keyboard.
And BTW, Mr. Zwick – honestly you’re the lad in denial – in denial of the scientific reality: global man made CO2 emissions do not and will not cause ‘catastrophic warming’ of our planet. The only man made thing about human induced global warming, is that the basic premise is a total fabrication and throughout history, men, particularly politicians have been and are well practiced in such ‘black arts’.
What would be good for you now Mr. Zwick is a self imposed long and glorious ‘omerta’ – silence is golden and remember; “when one finds oneself in a big hole, it’s best to cease forthwith further excavations”.

Willis, your comment in their comment section is pretty good and quite accurate. When will they pay their share of the economic damage they’ve caused? It is not just that woman that can’t heat her house but that other family that must put gas in their cars in order to go to work. That money could have provided some food or medicine for that poor little Timmy.

Coyote: That was a good and balance article. However, I don’t think ‘warmist’ is particularily negative – more descriptive. If I want to go negative I generally use ‘eco-nazi’ or ‘eco-ayotolla’ (I term I read somewhere).
