Wow, it doesn’t get much uglier than this. In my opinion, this is hate speech. Steve Zwick writes in his Forbes column:
We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies. Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay. Let’s let their houses burn. Let’s swap their safe land for submerged islands. Let’s force them to bear the cost of rising food prices.
They broke the climate. Why should the rest of us have to pay for it?
People who doubt the magnitude of CO2/AGW driven climate change broke the climate?
I suppose then that Mr. Zwick has never driven a car, never taken an airplane trip, never heated or cooled his home, never bought products produced overseas and shipped here, never grilled at a BBQ, or never used electricity to power his computer to write his litany of hate for Forbes. No, he’s apparently not used any CO2 producing modern convenience at all, which is why he bizarrely believes he has some sort of moral high ground.
His hypocrisy is beyond description. His full essay is here.
For those who wish to complain about his hate speech against fellow Americans, see the Forbes Contact page here.
As for his points about the Yale poll trying to make us all fear the weather as some human caused machination of climate, read this.

Is this what it was like to live in Russia around 100 years ago?
At some stage the climate catastrophists, alarmists or doomsayers, call them what you will, will be proved to be wrong and future generations will look back at this time with the same hilarity as the aliens in the Smash ads did at peeling potatoes and wonder how so many people could have been duped for so long at such expense. The edifice of AGW alarmism is crumbling with every passing day and the behaviour of Zwick will only hasten that day. However if we surrender freedom of speech in the pursuit of climate realism we will all lose. Allow Zwick, Mann, Hansen et al make fools of themselves as often as possible but let’s not take the road of censorship. It may be very difficult to regain free speech when it is lost.
Here’s a perfect description of Zwick and his ilk: “You’ll get what you’ve got coming! That is the death wish that our misanthropes address to us. These are not great souls who alert us to troubles but tiny minds who wish us suffering if we have the presumption to refuse to listen to them. Catastrophe is not their fear but their joy. It is a short distance from lucidity to bitterness, from prediction to anathema.”

Eric Simpson & James Bull,
Seriously? Based on the photo of Steve Zwick at Forbes, he could be the twin of one of my brothers. He is neither leftist or a nutcase. For that matter I don’t think he gives a hoot about global warming.
Reblogged this on Marco Zonka "Portals of Portent" and commented:
Forbes writer Steve Zwik wants to “burn down” the houses of “climate change” skeptics. “Hate speech” is now permissable for the high priests of so-called “human-caused” climate change.
So this guy handles climate derivatives, huh? That would be a pretty cool derivative…at stike price +1C, all deniers houses blow up! I keep imagining this Zwick character as something like the anatagonist from Speed, or Saw.

…[a] bet made with a greenie friend at the time of COP17 regarding an ice free Arctic and I suspect the double or quits option I am going to propose will be declined…
Don’t hide the decline, Jeef, let us know right here 🙂
Can I please trade my current land for “sunken island property”? Right now my house is worth about 30% less than it was 5 years ago, while unimproved property on the Maldives is going for over $50 a square foot. And that’s for beachfront property less than half a meter above current sea level. Gosh, for land that’s about to be consumed by the sea, they’re making some awfully good money. I wonder how much Al Gore has purchased?

Zwick doesn’t believe in gwarming? Oh, is it “climate change?” I’m not sure really if your comment is sensical. But based simply on the crazy rant of his article he just penned, he’s a nutcase. At least you didn’t say that you yourself look like Zwick, but we can say there is a ‘consensus’ that he has the eccentric look like his radical chum from Berkeley, the geekish Gleick. Honestly, to suggest that he’s not a leftist strains credulity. A cursory google search finds no evidence that he isn’t. Virtually all the top members of the Chicken Little Brigade are hardened leftists. Point me to any evidence to the contrary on Zwick, please.
Reminds me of the Spanish Inquisition.
There is good reason for normal folks to be alarmed.
Do I have evidence to support that claim?
Mann, Gleick, and Zwick. True climate Nazi’s spewing a totalitarian idealology of hatred. Yes, folks should be scared of the climate these people are creating.

Mike Smith,
Zwick sems to be cut from the same hateful cloth as the fanatics demanding a kangaroo court. You are right to be scared.
One of the comments in the article http://www.forbes.com/sites/warrenmeyer/2012/04/19/a-vivid-reminder-of-how-the-climate-debate-is-broken/ reference the fact that his suggestions violate several aspects of DC law,as his business is run from the DC area, and seeing that they have a Virginia area code,I’d assume the same would apply there as well. There are also criminal penalties for making a terrorist threat, and for conspiracy to the same. Here’s a tip – calling for people in writing to take an action or omit an action that would result in the burning of private or public property IS conspiracy. It’s not commentary or opinion, it’s asking people to allow or cause the destruction by fire.
I sent him an email and offered him my address and a map to meet me and my friends. I sure hope he pays me a visit.

Is this guy for real .. A fireman suggesting that people should let ‘deniers houses burn’ and he still keeps his job ?
I think I have found a denier lair ..

Not necessarily on the forehead; I’m a reasonable man. Just something along their arm or across their chest so their grandchildren could say, ”Really? You were one of the ones who tried to stop the world doing something? And why exactly was that, granddad?”
Talk about boneheaded beliefs!!!!
What is it with those who push the warming barrow? Is there something in the water? Too much Co2 making it fizzy for them.

IMHO, it is a sure sign that there income is being impaired.
@Steve P
Actually, Witch hunts were rare. Thousands upon thousands did not die. Most of those who were killed were men. Witch hunts are as big a myth as Global Warming.
They broke the climate!
Reminds me of Clem and Barney on the Funway, when they asked the animatronic President, “Why does the Porridge Bird lay its eggs in the air?”, which caused the computer to crash and the animatron to shut down. The other bozos freaked out, and one cried out:
“Hey Pablo! He broke the President!”
