Our rebuttal of Al Gore’s 24 hours of Climate Reality aka the Gore-a-thon is On-The-Air. Josh is leading the charge chortles. We’ll have a new Josh cartoon, along with commentary, graphs and links every hour starting at 5PM PST to match the starting time of the CRP. They appear below this post.
You can watch the live video presentation here, I urge everyone to do so (because after hour 4 it is starting to look like a massive dud, Al needs the help) and to make notes about it during the appropriate hour. Alternate video link here at Ustream.

UPDATE: The Climate Reality project has released two videos hyping the event. It appears they’ll be smearing some of what is in the videos.

We could add keywords “climate reality”, “Al Gore” (what else?) in our new blog entries so that Google will direct traffic to our blogs instead of Gore’s site.

24 hours of “post-normal” Reality, and then it will all be over? Sounds good to me.
Maybe Jeff Wayne could be persuaded to turn it into a musical in due course, although it wouldn’t be as good as WOTW, without Richard Burton’s voiceover.

It might be a good idea to get a list of all the detremental effects of green influences that are known to have had adverse effects.
DDT is one example
I understand the the greens effectively had asbestos removed from tower one and prevented its use in tower two. (This claim is subject to confirmation. Apparently, an alternative was used before it had undergone the necessary tests to prove its suitability.
I am certain that there are many more instances where the green influence has had disastous effects.
Burning food for oil is another example.
Aquisition of neodymium for use in wind turbines at the cost of massive poltution in whole villages in china.
There have to be many many more.
Lets pull them all together and get the information out via twitter or E-Mails etc.

Every time Al Goracle has an event, there seems to be an extreme cold weather associated with his location. Since this is a ‘world wide’ event, should I expect a global cold snap?
He’s timed this one with the height of the hurricane season.

There is also a “Date Reality” problem. Check the video @ur momisugly 0:35. Gore’s September 2011 calendar
shows September 14 to be a Tuesday. My 2011 recyclable paper wall calendar shows September 14 as a Wednesday.
The calendar mixup is easy to explain. Payroll calendars begin with Monday in column 1. This is about Mr. Gore’s payday, after all.
Funny. Today & tomorrow (Monday & Tuesday) the temps are hanging around 80. Wednesday is forecast to be a high around 68, with Thursday at 59 (degrees F). Looks like a major cold front will be coming through.

This whole project of Al Gore is actually a fantastic opportunity for liberal arts graduate students to study the effects of social media and preaching. I suspect Gore is about to find out firsthand that networked social media can cut both ways. Yes, it can be great to get your message out, but once enough people know your message, and the opponents well-reasoned arguments to the contrary, you’re just blowing uninvited smoke up peoples behinds. I suspect the direct and sustained reaction to this stunt of his will be negative, regardless of how (in)correct he is.
Hey… Wasn’t “Live Earth” supposed to create a Climate Change Tsunami that would bring the message to everyone? What happened? This “Reality” thing doesn’t even pretend to be about science… It’s just one big Ad-Hom attack on the scientific process.
I think I’d rather watch this for 24 hours in a row… At least it’s science.

First big push of cold air coming south into the central and eastern USA over the next 72hrs. Lots of frost expected from the northern plains and upper midwest into the great lakes, about 2 weeks early. Yes folks, the GORE effect is alive and well.
Does this mean 24 hours of Blood and Gore?…. Time to bring out the 10:10 No Pressure video…
Major early season cold is being ignored as this could be the earliest freeze on record in much of the miss valley I-80 north! . The morning of the 15th will be the coldest so early in the season in many areas in the plains that had a cold wet spring. Simply astounding as to what is being forecasted.. coldest so early by 10 days in some places! While it fits in nicely as yet another reminder to Al that nature is in control, the magnitude meteorologically of what is going on if this is right is hard to fathom. Des Moines all time record Sept low is 33. They could hit that or lower the morning of the 15h over 2 weeks before the month ends and before the equinox. There are few things in weather I look at and cant believe, but if you go back and look at early season cold outbreaks, and then look at what is being forecasted Thursday morning by the nam and GFS its simply jaw dropping, almost too cold to be true in such a large area.
With all the water in the ground, the earliest cases of rime icing ever recorded could greet people in the interior northeast on Saturday.
Seriously take a look at this, if you love weather, this is wild stuff.
And then let AL know about it.. another case of him showing up, and the cold coming around
