Somehow, standing in line for this just doesn’t do it for me.

So the world ends tomorrow, May 21st, so some people say. What will you do?

This is the “Commentary on puzzling things in life …” part.
The “rapture” is a predicted (sorry – projected) outcome of the AGW general circulation models. These mighty software engines have come up with an alarming scenario, the “radiative asymptotic permutation of the troposphe by un-absorbed re-propagated emissions.” Or, the “rapture” – another way of saying runaway CAGW. An interesting side-prediction is that, at exactly midnight on the September 2011 equinox, all AGW believers will be caught up into the heavens by a radiative-convective process, while us deniars and skeptics will be left to face the tribulation, the seals, trumpets and vials of wrathful global warming caused by all those sinful carbon emissions.
I was on an island in the middle of the Indian River watching the sunset and the lights from Cocoa come on across the water. There was a light sourtherly breeze, the love-bugs went away at dusk and because of the drought there were no mosquitoes. All in all a lovely evening.
My question: If the rapture happened, and none of us were found worthy, would we notice?
I guess the only thing that might save this prediction now would be having the latest volcano eruption in Iceland be the initial stage of the worst supervolcano eruption ever.
But in hog country of Iowa t-shirts say “People Eating Tasty Animals”.
😉
Looks like PETA couldn’t find anyone willing to put that billboard up.

Thank God common sense prevails.

“……Harold Camping. He’s an old man and he put his entire life and reputation on the line for this silly prediction.”
Which brings to mind one of the philosophers covered in Leonard Peikoff’s old history of philosophy course. In his old age the philosopher said something to the effect of “I know it’s right, but you can’t live that way.” Um, run that by me again?
Al Gore has been accused of living that statement. 🙂
While struggling to preserve and survive on the $80 million or so he’s extracted from the sheepoids.
Little known possible fact: His middle initial is “D.” … 😉
