What climate science has come to: a rap music video with expletives

While not as bad as the horrid 10:10 video exploding children, I have to wonder this about the actual scientists that participated in this farce: what were you thinking ?

Of course, it does seem some circles in climate science are all about bling, and cheerleaders, and labeling people with ugly insulting profanity these days. So maybe, this is simply “state of the art”. The phrase “Real Climate Scientists” is used…hmm.

Watch this video from Australia (warning – profanities)

The lyrics are available here at the website where they made the video.

Poor lambs. Isn’t it sad? They really believe.
Hook line & sinker.

I take this very seriously. I live in the real world. I work with the young generation for whom their life is totally absorbed in their phone apps, videos and rapping where quick impressions can accepted as fact. This video can have far reaching impact on youtube and beyond. We need young, talented people on our side of the debate. The science has to be sold like a brand, I fear. I don’t like it and I try desparately to make true scientific investigation more important than sales, but I am a media person and know the world inwhich we live. Am I disgusted by it? You bet. But, you ignore at your own peril.

” Global Warming is just a theory.”
“So is Gravity… (snip) ”
“If they don’t know the difference between a Theory and a Law in science, they are no scientists.”
Yeah, I got a bit worried at that as well – these “climate scientists” obviously don’t have any background in physics at least…..

John, this rap will not impress anyone. There’s a rap for everything; there are quite a few funny Star Wars raps, for instance. There has been that infamous Gadafi techno piece by that Israeli DJ… “Shebr shebr, bait bait…” That’s the stuff that goes viral.
The climate youngsters face some stiff competition.

Well that’s pretty pathetic.
The next generation of young rent seekers doing their very best to keep the Gravy Train on the tracks long enough for them to get their plush seat & sinecure.
So many careers that will end up in the greenie gutter.
They should start re-training for a worthwhile job.

The statement “climate change is real” really has no meaning at all. Climate always changes. The question is if we have seen any extraordinary change in climate that is beyond natural changes we have seen in the past.

I think this work is being misunderstood. Who says a climate science study must be a formal paper? It is in fact a submission by climate scientists for peer review by other climate scientists.

How gob-smackingly, piddle-poor is that rap cr*p?
What on earth do they hope to be able to achieve by releasing such utter garbage?
*mind boggles*

Oh, and one very telling thing in that rap. Look at the “feedbacks” they mention. Methane, permafrost, burning biomass.
The feedback that they didn’t mention – yet the only positive feedback that is necessary for the IPCC catastrophe claims – is water vapor feedback.
They know, deep in their rotten hearts, that mentioning water vapor feedback will not buy them any converts; as most lay persons do not consider water a dangerous greenhouse gas or H2O dangerous climate changing pollution.
The hypothetical water vapor feedback is their achilles heel; the feedback whose name must not be mentioned.

It is most unfortunate that such seemingly educated professional people feel the need to resort to profanity and (c)RAP music to attempt to make a point about this or any subject. Insofar as I am concerned, with the state of todays educational system and what our children are learning, these 6 PHd’s and the other students involved should be removed from their positions at the universities for not being able to argue their side of this debate without resorting to gutter language.
Are they truely educated???, or do Aussie Universities hand out credentials so easily???

In reply to Ray and to Rob Potter.
In these examples, theory is being used with two distinct meanings:
a: an unproven assumption
b: a body of theorems presenting a consise, systematic view of a subject.
Meaning b is used when referring to the theory of universal gravitation, the theory of evolution, or the theory of relativity- Those sciences are well established. When someone objects that gravitation, evolution, and relativity are just THEORIES, they’re inorrectly using the word theory with the “a” meaining.
The “a” meaning would correctly refer to the theory of CAGW, which has NO systematic body of well established theorems- would AGW produce more or fewer hurricanes, drier or snowier winters, more or less precipitation, more or less wind?
CAGW predictions in such cases appear to be ephemeral, agreeing with current observations

That performance is truely trashy. Couldn’t get to the end of it. What are they thinking these days.

John Shade
May 11, 2011 2:53 pm

A bit on the trashy side. If it is genuine, shame on the ‘scientists’. If it is not, shame on some others. In either case, shameful. What were they thinking?

Having seen other things that hungry beast do (I’m an aussie), it is obvious that they are pro AGW. In another piece they referred to both skeptics and deniers in the space of 2 minutes. The only logical conclusion it that this is also supposed to be pro AGW, although how I am not sure. Without that background knowledge I would have thought that it was a stab at climate scientists and a parody of some sort.
I suppose they are trying to get across that people in the media who usually talk about climate science are not climate scientists. They think that somehow if only climate scientists were on they news we would all believe them.

Thanks for letting us know what’s happening Anthony, even if it’s crappy “climate scientists” singing crappy rap…
Here’s something else that may really be possible in the future, found just under that rap video… It would be one huge fusion machine !! I found it interesting.

As an Aussie, and a loud and proud Denier, seeing my hard earned Tax being pissed against a wall makes me angry. But currently we have a Labor government (socialists – progressives – marxists) so this is par for the course. What really upsets me is that the 18-30 year olds who voted them in are the ones that will end up paying the massive $150Billion Debt that they have created in just 3 years, and they want to slug us with a Carbon Tax because of “dangerous Climate Change”. Oh the Humanity!

Pretty sad. One wonders how you can synergize so much crap int a piece of crap that is greater than the sum of its crappy parts.
There is a grant waiting to be handed out to study the decline of rap music in relation to global warming.

I must apologise for my fellow Australians involved in this piece of ‘science’. Overseas readers should appreciate that some Australians have an addiction to copying what is trendy overseas – or was trendy a few years ago.
