Well, well, somebody came to their senses. About two hours ago, around 6:30AM PST, 10:10 took down their disgusting video showing school children were skeptical of carbon reduction suggestions from their teacher, get blown up in a gory bloodbath that covered other students with gore. My analogy is that this extraordinary episode of delusionary groupthink can be identified as a psychotic break by the true believers. The many-headed can now see with their own eyes the break from reality these propagandists have, just as ClimateGate allowed the mass of scientists to see how the perversion of scientific process and method had fooled them.

However, together with Pierre Gosselin, I find the reaction of many readers (and yourself) exaggerated. As Pierre said, are you all from the Victorian age? There is no graphic gore in the video, there are only bangs, screams and Kensington gore (stage blood). This is the stuff of comedy. So chill out, and enjoy it as such.
I made it clear in my first post (on another thread) that I consider the video entirely satirical in intent (I accept that its commissioners may well think otherwise). Since the fanatics of the CAGW movement are the targets of Richard Curtis’ well-made satire, only good can come of it. Thus I feel that the video is to be celebrated, rather than cursed. It is perhaps a farce, but the joke is on those who commissioned it.

This movie is extraordinarily bad taste as well as being scientifically dubious. I am writing to my MP (Member of Parliament) to seek reassurance that no public funds were involved in making this sad little clip. If so, I hope that all public funding will be withdrawn.

Perhaps you miss the point. For many of us it is nothing to do with the blood and gore, it is the sneering message that it is bullying at its core – the hint to anyone who is wavering, or uncertain about climate change that their peers will think worse of them if they do not toe the line. Yes, as satire this is taken to extremes by exploding people, but the message is there and it will speak most strongly to younger people – that the only ‘cool’ thing to believe and act on is reducing CO2 and you will be thought a better person if you do act. This is the new PC. And this is an insidious way of removing doubt and ensuring right-thinking and behavour stick in the memory.
That is what has made me so cross about it.

I want to see our children think for themselves.
What struck me were the faces of the children after their friends had been blown to pulp, astonishment. As if understanding had suddenly registered to their young brains what “no pressure” really means when it comes from the mouth of an ecowarrior. If it were supposed to be light hearted and funny they would not have included those images of fear on the faces of the children who had complied to their green carbon message. This tells me this was never meant to be humour, it was a deadly serious attempt to intill a climate of fear. And then the final sequence when the girl has given her time for free, she is a supporter, but it is not enough, she must also be disposed of.
In Cambodia they executed people for owning glasses. I think this come close to that mindset.
This really is about inciting hatred and violence against anyone who is outside the paranoid world of extreme green politics. I hope it really causes a storm in the media, but I am not holding my breath. The Guardian actually seem to be proud of their association with the film!
The comments in the Comment are Free section are interesting, it starts with all the greenies saying how funny it all is before a deluge of hostile comments arrives. The hostile comments have approval ratings of up to 500, the people who find it funny are left languishing with very few approval ratings. This has been a big mistake.

I may be the odd one out but just as Anthony found the video vile, I found myself being deeply disturbed by the Guardian video interview with Franny. Just on what planet she was bought up on I dont know, taught to believe that the meaning of Life was TV and shopping.
So she had a revelation and needs to convert us all.
