Well, well, somebody came to their senses. About two hours ago, around 6:30AM PST, 10:10 took down their disgusting video showing school children were skeptical of carbon reduction suggestions from their teacher, get blown up in a gory bloodbath that covered other students with gore. I believe in global warming/climate change/global climate disruption now because I don’t want to explode.
I think it’s projection. Warmers have been let down so many times: Arctic ice still there, Manhattan and other islands still above water, Britain completely covered in snow, cold summer on the Pacific coast, millions of people not being vaporized. It’s all very disappointing.
The reason so many cons succeed is that the victims are embarrassed to admit to having been conned. It’s just human nature. In this case, warmers can’t blow up the con men without blowing up all the ego they invested in global warming, so they project their shame and embarrassment on the people who didn’t fall for it.
I just hope things don’t get worse. Apparently, 10:10 refers to 10 October 2010, on which date there was supposed to be some sort of deadline or event? Now this video that promotes small-scale terrorism. Very disturbing.
I think, to paraphrase a headline from the past (then referring to GW Bush), that this video is ‘Fake, but Accurate’.
Fake in the special-fx sense.. and indeed, no real school children were harmed in its production.
But accurate in the sense that it rather reveals the deep fantasy wishes of the eco-movement against fellow man who doesn’t buy into the scam.

But, the video does show a moral condemnation by 10:10 leaders /supporters. They are morally condemning the independent thinkers in a modern civilized world.

Oh, come *on* folks… it does not incite violence, it does not suggest that the vast majority of those who subscribe to the AGW hypothesis would want this. It’s just another in a long, long line of attempts to shock people with a certain set of views into line. It does two things well: it proves that they keep misjudging peoples’ reactions (or maybe it doesn’t – maybe the attempt was to provoke just the reaction it has), and that the morally superior will try anything they damn’ well please.
Or maybe it’s a way of judging the opposition? And the placatory, “oh, it’s just humour” popping up all over the place feels a little too “planned” for me.
By the way, worrying about the fact that people like Richard Curtis are involved is like giving a sh*t about what James Cameron says. They’re film makers (and I happen to enjoy Richard Curtis’s films), not experts… they’re simply people with an opinion.
But be very afraid that Sony may be involved.

Today we put up a mini-movie about 10:10 and climate change called ‘No Pressure’.
With climate change becoming increasingly threatening, and decreasingly talked about in the media, we wanted to find a way to bring this critical issue back into the headlines whilst making people laugh. We were therefore delighted when Britain’s leading comedy writer, Richard Curtis – writer of Blackadder, Four Weddings, Notting Hill and many others – agreed to write a short film for the 10:10 campaign. Many people found the resulting film extremely funny, but unfortunately some didn’t and we sincerely apologise to anybody we have offended.
As a result of these concerns we’ve taken it off our website.
We’d like to thank the 50+ film professionals and 40+ actors and extras and who gave their time and equipment to the film for free. We greatly value your contributions and the tremendous enthusiasm and professionalism you brought to the project.
At 10:10 we’re all about trying new and creative ways of getting people to take action on climate change. Unfortunately in this instance we missed the mark. Oh well, we live and learn.

In the end, although any publicity is publicity, they are showing that under the disguise of no pressure, casual talk, eco activists are indeed not giving you any choice but to comply or else.

Billions? A billion is a big increase from a million, even over time from 75k years ago, and humans have not been able to sustain “billions” in population much before the industrtial revolution (Meaning the discovery of cheap energy – Coal). Mate, influenza killed more people in the years after 1918 than the ~22million who died in the war to end all wars.
I think Richard Curtis have done more for us skeptics in the CO2 debate than anyone else. And I believe it is intensionally.

Can anyone post or provide a link to the ‘Behind The Scenes’ video? Every site I go to, it’s been embedded from YouTube and comes up with the private nonsense.
I grew up on Milligan and Python and have no problem with even fairly sick satire (e.g. Python’s Undertaker’s sketch – to my knowledge never broadcast on TV to this day). If you want to do sick humour, the only way to get away with it is to make sure it is very funny. The problem with this video is that it wasn’t even slightly funny. It is purile, and consequently offensive and disturbing. It is somewhat sad that Franny et al have sunk to this level without even realising how out of touch they are. We shouldn’t be too hard on them as individuals, I would say they are just extremely gullible groupthinkers who have lost their sense of reality, rather than dangerous eco-extremists. At least they have had the sense to pull the ad and apologise, although it is a bit late for them now given that it has gone viral on youtube. It will be interesting to see what the CAGW loving MSM makes of this PR disaster.

Uh…..300,000 people die each year from climate change?? I’m in public health & have never heard that climate change has been implicated in any mortality, it remains very much a theory. In fact, there will be decreasing mortality in areas warming due to more comfortable temperatures, abundant food etc.

I’m telling you, Fanny Armstrong and people like her are fanatical ideologues and are dangerous if they achieve governance over others. They are I believe essentially unconstrained personalities with a yen for control. If it wern’t global warming it would be something else. That’s the problem, it’s not the issue or the facts with them, it’s about doing things like this film that feeds their need. They are, thank God, reatively small in number but they are, nonetheless, everywhere. You find them in all walks of life: churches, schools, organizations, at work.
Thank God for the internet, really, because sites like this that focus on reality are the best way to fight this kind of thing so spread the word folks, email your friends articles and papers, post them on facebook and twitter them because most people are rational and well intentioned and don’t want to become part of a witch hunt.

Dehumanization leads to zealotry, and zealotry leads from words to actions. As soon as any group decides it is superior to the rest of humanity, whether in religion or politics, the zealots emerge and seek to prove themselves through violence. Too many cases to enumerate here.
