See Gore Run: "I'm having lunch!"

UPDATE: Some commenters seem to think Al is being treated unfairly. Gore press policy might be the reason we see this sort of thing happening. See the update below the “read more” line.

Seems that former Vice President Al Gore doesn’t like the cameras when people ask tough questions about the Arctic Sea ice, or Climategate, or er, anything. Lunch is more important than telling those pesky Fox News viewers how wrong they are.

Ambush journalism? Seemed good enough for CBS 60 minutes back when they were a real news program. Watch the video.

Here’s Al on the “ambush journalism” 60 Minutes show when the conditions are favorable to him:

No, Al would never associate himself with an outfit that does “ambush journalism“.

UPDATE: Some WUWT readers may remember this post I did back in 2008:

Gore to press: Stay Out!

Credit: Robert Vamosi / CNET Networks

One blogger, Tim Wilson, with press credentials writes:

Gore, who reportedly receives $100,000 for personal appearances, apparently has a standard contract that bans the fourth estate from all of his speeches. No one seems to know why, and we can’t ask — on account of we’re out here, and he’s in there.

So with such a policy and contract language, is it any surprise that Gore would not talk to a Fox News reporter and the only opportunity the reporter had would be in a hallway?

Gore’s Contract:

What if HE is really an ALIEN?

Anyone who “feels bad” for Gore should replay a few of his smug performances back when the world was his oyster. His Largeness confidently waded off into that media swamp without even getting his feet wet. Now that he’s up to his behind in alligators, I for one am enjoying the show and rooting for the ‘gators.

Great to see at least one news channel is presenting an alternate view. Ever so slowly a few “adverse” climate stories are getting out here in Australia. It’s still a crime to criticise the settled science but the brain washing has slowed somewhat.

I must say I feel the same. It’s very bad behavior, and reflects poorly on FOX.

Is Hansen going to compare “ambush journalism” to the Gestapo now that Gore has been assaulted?

Did Michael Mann ambush the trees with a chainsaw? What is with that?
Hansen mentioned a request for info under FOIA is harassment or an ambush.

Do not feel sorry for this mendacious bastard. He knew all along he was lying. He knows he is wrong. He deserves every ambush he gets.

Gore’s right – the Earth is flat – it’s obvious, if it wasn’t flat, most people would fall off.
AGW is real and if we don’t all act soon to preserve the wealth of his family, then there is a real possibility that something really significant might happen to the Earth’s climate, like the average temperature rising 0.001 degrees C per decade.

Don’t feel sorry for Al, he has made millions selling the gullible his version of indulgences. Now that his victims realize they have been had, don’t feel sorry for him, feel sorry for the poor gullible masses that bought into his fraudulent scheme.

I’m of two minds. On a personal level, I feel for him. But, more importantly, he has taken it upon himself to save the planet. How can he do that if he’s running from the press? If he really had the strengths of his convictions, he’d welcome the opportunity to talk to a prominent news organization. Maybe he really is in it just for the money.

In a similar vein, his lordship has an intersting post http://bishophill.squarespace.com/blog/2010/4/13/its-true.html on the growing ‘feed-in’ scam over here in Europe. (owners of windmills etc. are paid a huge premium for the electricity they supply to the grid) Coming your way soon?

Happening right here in River City-Union Co. Oregon to be exact. Have
a friend who is taking Concealed Carry classes (recommended to him .45 ACP
BTW) because he fears for his life and his family due to the pro- turbine
positions. He’s pointed this out in the local media…

If the world needed saving, would the press be the ones to get the job done?? I seriously doubt that. I’m sure Gore does have the strength of conviction, and he said he would consider going on FOX, but he is right about ambush journalism. Do you seriously think he should have taken time out to sit down with that reporter who was chasing him around and do an interview on the spot?

He did not want to GIVE an interview… this is completely normal for the deceiver-in-chief… he doesn’t give FREE interviews… just those with lots of money attached to them. What a clown!

You guys are displaying some bad judgment.
I have had the dubious distinction of actually meeting algore and shaking his hand (years ago on a campaign swing through Tennessee where I used to live). It took me 6 months to get the oil off of my hand. I have only met one person on this earth more dishonest than algore. He deserves no pity or sympathy and will get none from me. I hope he did get indigestion.

No problem running both videos at the same time here.
I have http://wattuswiththat.com entered under my
“permissions” file as a “truted site”
I simply “x’d” out of my first call for WUWT, took off my
NO! Flash utility program, re-clicked my WUWT shortcut,
and both videos ran perfectly.
Even though my son does a lot of Youtubing, I couldn’t get
that video to run right away.

It was funny and revealing. Perhaps it would be equally entertaining, fair and balanced, if Fox ambushed Viscount Monckton over reported claims of being a member of The House of Lords and a Noble Laureate. Fair is fair.

Mod-I don’t mean to be too fussy, but the very first sentence has “begin” when I think “being” was meant–second sentence “happening” is misspelt.
