Great result, Anthony!
I started visiting WUWT when Andrew Bolt began linking, because at that point there were very few public places where information on climate was being laid out in a scientific manner, to encourage readers to question orthodoxy, as science and logic always should.
My wish for you and your many supporters in science and the public domain in 2010 is to succeed in having Algore, Pachauri and the IPPC stripped of the Nobel prize , and for them to be prosecuted for international fraud, along with certain multinational financial institutions.

PS: You really ought to refresh your tips page, there’s so much CO2 on the current one that this poor old computer of mine is overheating just trying to open the page.
PPS: “Scientist” is no longer a functional term. We really need to replace it with something more specific. Today it has the same connotation as “politician”.

I don’t know – please show me the raw data (i.e. calendars produced in 1 BC and the subsequent year). I for one am really tired of seeing processed calendar data. Leap seconds and leap days are bad enough, but something like the adoption of the the Gregorian calendar must not be allowed to recur.
I’d also like souvenir editions of year 0 for the Chinese and Jewish calendars. [REPLY – There is no year “0” in the western calendar. It goes directly from 1BC to 1 AD. ~Evan]

Look see I had a word with our Gav because they are still spelling the site name wrong. I keep on telling him that it is Unreal Climate. Anyway before Chas accusses me of being off topic, just thought I’d let you know our Gav is not going to be outdone by you lot. He told me that he would have lots and lots of hockey cockey stick graphs up for the New Year and guess what he’s a clever boy he has loads of them up?
Now I said to him you don’t have to prove anything to me lovely boy, but he was adamant. ” I am going to show the world we were right all along” Come off it I says “How!
Well my mate Hansen predicted the global warming many years ago and I am going to plot all my mates graphs on his projection to show we were right all along.
I says come on Gav you couldn’t make this up he says “watch me, no smoke no mirrors just a few of my Manns Nature’s tricks”

I know I’m indulging my perverse delight in acting the contrarian, but 2010 is not, sensu strictu, the first year of the second decade of the 21st c. Since the 21st c. (and the third Christian millennium) began on January 1 2001, 2010 is the last year of the first decade.
The problem arises from the fact that in the seventh century, when the monk Denys the Diminutive developed a dating system centered on his estimation of the year of the birth of Jesus, Europeans were half a millennium away from learning the ‘Arabic’ (actually Indian) system of numeration with its marvelous invention of zero (Indian philosophy, in contrast with the Greek, seems to have be much less terrified about the concept of ‘nothing’). Denys counted the year of the birth of Jesus as the year 1; therefore the year 10 was the tenth year of the first decade.
It’s more confusing when one tries to get this across using Arabic numbers.
Roman numerals make it clearer: from I to X is ten: XI is the first year of the second decadal cycle.
This year is MMX. Next year will be MMXI

I hate to be pedantic, but is it not true that there was no year 0 and a decade goes from 1 to 10? The first year of the first decade of the 21st Century was 2001and the last year of the first decade of the 21st Century is 2010.
