Gore 2.0, now with Pacific Hurricanes, coming to a book store near you. Gore plans to hawk it on David Letterman next Tuesday night. One more reason not to watch Dave anymore. One can always hope though. Maybe he’ll feature Gore as a “stupid human trick”.
Al doesn’t seem to learn when it comes to visuals. Or maybe he just thinks that he’s obligated to put a picture of a hurricane on the front cover to keep the theme of AIT going. Either way. Any imagined link between hurricanes and global warming has evaporated.
My prediction: sales will be a fraction of AIT, and it probably won’t make the NYT bestsellers list. People are tired of the yap, as indicated by recent polls.
Here’s what he has to say about it on his blog (note: he doesn’t take comments)
From the Press Release:
Today Vice President Gore announced that his next book, Our Choice, will be published by Rodale in the US and by other publishers internationally on November 3, 2009. Picking up where An Inconvenient Truth left off, Our Choice utilizes Mr. Gore’s forty years of experience as a student, policymaker, author, filmmaker, entrepreneur and activist to comprehensively describe the real solutions to global warming. A co-recipient of the Nobel Peace prize in 2007 for his environmental work, Mr. Gore continues to make sense of the pressing issues we face and Our Choice will unquestionably inspire and rally those ready to fight for solutions that were deemed impossible only a short time ago.
Said Vice President Gore, “An Inconvenient Truth reached millions of people with the message that the climate crisis is threatening the future of human civilization and that it must and can be solved. Now that the need for urgent action is even clearer with the alarming new findings of the last three years, it is time for a comprehensive global plan that actually solves the climate crisis. Our Choice will answer that call.”
Since the publication of the New York Times bestseller An Inconvenient Truth and the release of the Academy Award® winning film of the same title, Mr. Gore has led more than thirty “Solutions Summits” with top scientists, engineers and policy experts to examine every solution to the climate crisis in depth and detail. Our Choice draws on conclusions developed through those summits as well as on extensive independent research, describing how the bold choices necessary to save the earth’s climate should also be the foundations of policies worldwide to create new jobs and stimulate sustainable economic progress.
As they did with An Inconvenient Truth, former Vice President Gore and Mrs. Tipper Gore will donate 100% of the proceeds of the book to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a non-profit, non-partisan group dedicated to spreading awareness about the climate crisis and how to solve it.
Our Choice will feature 100% recycled paper, locally produced and sourced editions, low VOC inks, and will be carbon neutral.
“Rodale is honored to continue our relationship with Vice President Al Gore,” said Rodale Inc. President and CEO Steven Pleshette Murphy. “We were proud to publish An Inconvenient Truth and very much look forward to bringing Our Choice to the growing audience of committed citizens who are seeking solutions to the climate change crisis. In the spirit of our longtime mission, we are dedicated to creating the greatest possible platform for Vice President Gore’s work and message.”
Simon & Schuster Audio, who published the Grammy Award winning audio version of Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, will publish the audio edition of the book on CD and digital download simultaneous with the hardcover publication.

Has anyone else noticed that “Al Gore” is an anagram for the following:
“galore”
“o regal”
“ore gal”
“oar gel”
Tim S. (09:51:24) :
How do you make a “carbon neutral” book, anyway? Does that mean no electricity was used in creating it?
No.
It means Al Gore paid himself in carbon credits to do it.
I too received the Costco Connection magazine with AlGore looking down his nose at me and immediately threw it into the recycle bin (I am green in some areas ). I really enjoy shopping at Costco and have never been one to boycott a business. However I will be contacting Costco to request a different point of view be presented in a future issue.

What is so patently offensive about the whole affair is that Gore is pimping a book he wrote, and patting himself on the back for giving the profits to a “charity” he founded. Just like paying a carbon fine to Generation Investment Management, a company he owns to offset AIT’s carbon footprint.
Everywhere you look, Gore has his fingers in the financial pie. He doesn’t do anything for nothing. Yucaipa, INdTV, GIM, and on, and on……
Observing alarmist reaction to the unraveling of the AGW fabrication is a little like watching an alcoholic parent scold a child. They rail on and on about excessive behavior all the while carefully avoiding the hall mirror.
Now that their desperate image has come into plain view, they escalate their rage, hoping a final burst of anger will chasten the child. Hubris is an equal opportunity disease. Fortunately for Mr. Gore and company there is an intervention underway. And he may garner the embrace of public sympathy after entering the Climaholic Rehab Program.
Digging into Costco reveals some interesting perspective on their mission and operation……

If Costco pledges to provide the best price to its members, then how can they justify pandering Al Gore to us, knowing full well his agenda of putting us into a cap & trade program that will raise its costs, as well as the cost of the products it sells?
Is it just my eyesight or do I see a new continent west of US?
Must be AL’s Island of Delphi.
IMHO, here is the real “An Inconvenient Truth” —
Al Gore is a quintessential malicious narcissist. He will say anything to get attention and further his personal goals, no matter how wrong and destructive. That he makes a fool of himself and makes scientists on both sides of the argument cringe in the process makes no difference. As long as he is able to feed his pathological need for affirmation by snowing the uninformed and fearful or hapless stooges like Letterman with utter nonsense, that is all that counts.
timetochooseagain (22:27:12) :
Thanks for the link, I was thinking about something along those lines.
Those of you writing to Costco [I used dialogue@costco.com] regarding the Al Gore article might be interested in the response I got from them:
My email to them was polite even though firm and to the point, yet no explanation whatsoever.
Go figure.
It would be interesting to see what sort of response others receive.
Tim S. (10:11:59) : I can’t resist but, you missed a non-nonsensical one:
Oragel-which is only a slightly incorrect spelling of an actual tooth ache medicine.
And yes, I think I prefer tooth aches to Al Gore.
Interesting that Rodale is publishing this, the Rodale which has championed a psuedoscientific pursuit of health and medicine for decades.
Not bad for a [snip] that failed divinty school.
Stephanie Bradley from Costco responded to me with this:
“At times we publish articles that may be seen as controversial to some and acceptable to others. It is our policy to let our members decide what is acceptable by what they choose to read. Our member’s opinions and views on personally controversial persons or articles are always welcome and their refusal to purchase any products or read any article for personal, political, or religious reasons is respected and honored.
In terms of the articles we publish in the magazine, our coverage has included – and will continue to include- everyone from Tim LaHaye to Howard Stern. Again, we rely on time for the balance and on each member’s judgment to choose what he or she wants to read.
We have forwarded your comments to our business executives for their review. Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us.”
At least they responded quickly and politely. I just hope that they begin to understand how serious the problem is.

Marc Shepard writes in American Thinker: “Gore Gone Wild: Predicts 220 Foot Sea Level Rise in 10 years” and also mentions an ice-free Arctic in winter. Maybe it’s a humor book.
It also looks like there will no longer be any locks along the Panama Canal. The Photoshopper has us sailing right through. All those poor canal workers that died from diseases – if Gore could have only been alive back then to tell them to spare the time and effort – and spare us from his presence now.
can Al Gore say “Doh!” ?

F. Ross (15:56:23) :
Regarding my previous post in which I observed that my email to the Costco Connection editor was “DELETED”; apparently it was read after all.
This morning I received this balanced response from Costco. My thanks to Mr. Foster Jones of The Costco Connection.
A dishonest cover from a dishonest man.
Like father, like son.
Another Inconvienient truth.

We now know from lord mocktons presentation that gore is a fraud just like madoff .
Everywhere and everytime hurricanes or typhoons mean cooling not warming. HIS witchcraft is wrong.
Looks to me like that map has been photoshopped to make the green areas brown… I wonder why they’d do that?
Why accept this?
I will certainly think twice before going to Costco.
Al Gore is running one of the great scams of all time.
To a socialist, a socialist hammer is the solution to every problem/crisis, even if they must be faked up.
I sometimes have the Costco/Walmart discussion with my liberal friends and relatives. The words I use are elitist, beautiful people, self-satisfied, classist, anti-working class, blue collar, smug and then hypocrite.
I shop at Walmart and will even more now. It’s less expensive. These are not the beautiful people, they are just sincere and hard working.
The Oh so lofty liberals must soar above the workers at Walmart. It is the same mental disease as Al Gore and his Berkinstock grab for power using fraudulent climate models. Everything is bent to the elevation of the liberal elites.
