Climate Hypocrite Harrison Ford Demands We Change OUR Lifestyles

Essay by Eric Worrall

But it is OK for important people to use private jets?

Harrison Ford says Trump’s assault on climate policy ‘scares the shit out of me’

Indiana Jones star calls US president one of history’s greatest criminals for attacks on science and boosting of fossil fuels

Oliver Milman in Chicago Fri 31 Oct 2025 21.00 AEDT

Harrison Ford has said that Donald Trump’s assault upon measures to address the climate crisis “scares the shit out of me” and makes the US president among the worst criminals in history.

In a blistering attack upon the president, Ford told the Guardian that Trump “doesn’t have any policies, he has whims. It scares the shit out of me. The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy. [Trump] knows better, but he’s an instrument of the status quo and he’s making money, hand over fist, while the world goes to hell in a handbasket.”

Climate change was “the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world”, Trump said during a speech to the United Nations last month. “If you don’t get away from this green scam, your country is going to fail. You need strong borders and traditional energy sources if you are going to be great again.”

“I knew it was coming, I have been preaching this stuff for 30 years,” Ford said of these climate-fueled disasters. “Everything we’ve said about climate change has come true. Why is that not sufficient that it alarms people that they change behaviors? Because of the entrenched status quo.”

Harrison Ford you have it all wrong – we climate skeptics are inspired by your example.

I think I can safely speak for everyone on WUWT, that thanks to Harrison Ford’s climate leadership, we hereby all agree to only fly in private jets when we have to, when we can afford it, when it is convenient, when we feel like it, or when we can’t be bothered to wait in the airport queue.

Trump was actually the biggest disappointment in that regard.

I was promised in 2016 that he’s gonna kill all the gay and trans people and start WW3 and end us all – they told me he was the human version of co2.
And what happened?
He not only failed to reach the genocidal top( LBJ,Bush) on a national level,
but he couldn’t even come close to the level of Nobel Peace Prize massmurderers like Kissinger and Obama.

Even if we take everything into account (boatpeople, syria bombing, iran rocket)
he can barely surpass Clintons very private bodycount.
So he actually is the human version of co2 – so many apocalyptic promises, yet nothing happened.

I remember his crash of the Ryan Pt22 on the Penmar golf course which is off the end of the Santa Monica airport. I flew out of that airport for a number of years. My daughter was a CFII and saw a twin take off; the couple had been drinking and the pilot forgot to remove the gust lock. It did not end well. A Dr I took a flight exam from took off in fog and disappeared into the ocean. There have been other accidents as well. I remember awaiting takeoff when a Cessna Skymaster couldn’t get the retractable gear down and bellied in. No one hurt. Had to turn the Bonanza around and taxi back to parking.

If anyone is looking for something that qualifies as being as phony as a $3 bill, all he has to do is examine the lifestyles of the rich and famous and then examine the stands they take on the environment and climate change. Then he’ll see a prime example of hypocrisy. And if he wants to see it on a much larger scale, all he needs to do is get the number of attendees that attend climate conferences like the COPs because these guys are not only adding to the emissions they want everyone else to cut but also using tax dollars to get to their destinations. The real irony of their efforts is that these conferences, meetings and treaties have achieved next to nothing in some three decades since global carbon emissions and fossil fuel consumption have continued to rise during the whole time. As well, most governments are just as much to blame since the futility of these climate control efforts has become increasingly obvious every year; yet they continue to be funded by elected representatives who should by now be aware that they’re just wasting money fighting a losing battle.

I don’t think he’s a moron, more like he takes positions that his main squeeze feels are important. And regards the proverbial $500 cheeseburger (an aviation joke, where you fly your airplane costing $500 an hour to get a $5 cheeseburger) – flying is a perishable skill and to remain current and proficient you need to fly regularly, so you invent excursions to do your regular proficiency practice, such as going to another airport for lunch.

So it not hubris, but part of maintaining your flying skills at a proficient level – to fly somewhere to get a cheeseburger. (and obviously he hasn’t done enough cheeseburger runs based on the number of aviation accidents were at his hands)

Still on the face, his commentary is false – every prediction of the climate cult has been wrong. But if your romantic partner is a fervent believer or member of that cult, and you wanna keep her happy, you might parrot such falsehoods….

That’s one sorry-ass excuse. Flying either pollutes or it doesn’t. Most people’s excuse for flying is they need to get somewhere. Harrison’s excuse is he has to keep flying.

“Pooping on the sidewalk is bad, but I have to keep practicing because it’s my hobby.”

Reply to  Scarecrow Repair
November 6, 2025 6:12 am

You are obviously not a pilot. Everything pollutes, including humans breathing. We exhale a potent toxic cocktail of methyl ethyl bad stuff in our breath – look it up! That is not the issue here. Yes Ford is a hypocrite for being on the climate cult bandwagon and living the lifestyle he enjoys. But the example of flying to get a cheeseburger is precisely explained by the very real and often used practice of private pilots who own their own aircraft. Which is you MUST stay current with your flying skills, which either means practicing “circuits” meaning laps around an airport runway, taking off, flying the pattern and landing, often as a touch and go and going around again, and again to keep your flying skills current. That gets really boring so you plan small adventures to satisfy the very real need to keep the perishable skills of flying a plane, current. And going to another airport for lunch is one such adventure pilots use to stay proficient and current with their flying skills. Even airline pilots must have performed so many takeoffs and landings within the past 60 or 90 days, else they must do remedial training in the simulator… There it is mandated for their Airline Transport License to remain valid, but in the case of a private pilot, it is on the honor system, but everyone with half a brain knows if you do not keep your skills current, you risk dying.

There is no such phenomena as climate change or crisis because most of the earth surface climate is water, rocks, sand, snow, and ice. Activities of humans will have no effect on the climates of vast Pacific and Atlantic oceans, the Andes, Alpes and Rocky mountains, or the Sahara and Gobi deserts. Activities of humans in cities can cause changes in local climate due to UHI effect. In some countries the stripping of the plants from the land for food and for animal feed has led to desertification.

After EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin rescinds the 2009 Endangerment Finding, he will put and end to the greatest scientific fraud since the Piltdown Man, and to no one here or elsewhere will be taking about global warming and climate change.

Harrison Ford says all the Climate Alarmist claims have come true, but the truth is NONE of the claims of Climate Alarmists have come true. That is the problem Climate Alarmists have.

That is the reason people are starting to realize that the Human-caused Climate Change narrative is a hoax, just like Trump says.

Maybe we shouldn’t be too harsh on Harrison as he is an actor who has lived in many false realities, so he may be confused (well, obviously) about what is real and what is not real.

It is amazing what the human mind can dream up for itself. Humans must guard themselves against seeing what they want/expect to see. This can lead them astray. Unfortunately, a lot of human beings are not very good at doing so.

Ford does not know the truth about climate change. Despite the hype, there is no real evidence that CO2 has any efect on our global climate system. There is plenty of scientific rationale to conclude that the climate sensivity of CO2 is effectively zero. The AGW hypothesis has been falsified by science. The so called “climate science” behind the global warming conjecture has been found to be all wrong. Mankind does not even know what the optimal global climate actually is let alone how to achieive it. World wide trillions of dollars have been spent trying to fight climate change yet no one is saying that there has been any improvement. It should be clear that spending money to fight climate change is a big waste of funds. Those who really want to reduce CO2 emissions should stay home in strict climate lock down and only attend climate related meetings via the Internet.

Shown in the chart (See below) is a plot of average annual temperature in Adelaide from 1857 to 1999. In 1857 the concentration of CO2 was ca. 280 ppmv (0.55 g CO/cu. m.)and by 1999, it had increased to 368 pmmv
(0.72 g CO2/cu. m.), but there was no corresponding increase in air temperature. Instead there was a slight cooling. This empirical data shows that CO2 has no influence on air temperature. From the chart the average annual temperature in 1999 was 16.7° C.

To obtain more recent temperature data from Adelaide, I went to:
https://www.extremeweatherwatch.com/cities/adelaide/average-tempera-by-year. The Tmax and Tmin data are displayed from 1887 to 2024 are
displayed in long table. From data I computed Tavg from 1999-2024 and the results are shown in following table:

Year—-Tavg °C
2024—17.4
2023—16.7
2022—16.9
2021—16.6
2020—16.7
1999—16.9

These data show that there has been only very slight increase in temperature since 1999 and is most likely due to the UHI effect.

At the Mauna Loa Obs. in Hawaii, the concentration of CO2 is currently 425 ppmv. One cubic meter of this air has a mass of 1,290 g and contains a mere 0.83 g of CO2, a 14% increase since 1999 at STP. CO2 does not have enough molecular muscle to heat up such a large mass of air.

PS: The chart was obtained from the late John L. Daly’s website:
“Still Waiting For Greenhouse” available at: http://www.john-daly.com.
From the home page, page down to the end and click on:
“Station Temperature Data”. On the “World Map”, click on “Australia”. There is displayed a list of weather stations Click on a station obtain the temperature data. Use the back arrow to return to the list stations. Clicking on the back arrow again will display the “World Map.”
John Daly found over 200 weather stations that showed no warming up to 2002.

NB: If you click on the chart, it will expand and become clear. Click on the
“X” to return to comment text.

Other negative votes may not have been for similar reasons, but mine was for “This empirical data shows that CO2 has no influence on air temperature.” Specifically, I mean “shows ” and “no influence”. The charted data shows a temperature series for one city in Australia for 142/4,000,000,000ths of supposed Earth history. Having not been here, I can’t vouch for what was going on 4 billion years ago, but people tell me the world was bigger than Adelaide. What if CO2 did have some effect and it took 143 years to happen? What if Adelaide were in some special wind zone that acted differently than Sydney? No single bit of data proves anything. IF the 4 billion year number is not nonsense, and IF the fossils aren’t weirdly assembled modern chicken bones THEN there seems to be good reason to say Harrison Ford is a ninny. It would be a shame because 10 year old me thought he was really good in the original Star Wars.

“Mankind does not even know what the optimal global climate actually is let alone how to achieve it.”

For all we know we are approaching the optimum, not deviating from it.

We have been told by the UN that this is not about the environment but rather about changing the world order/economy. 1.5 C was an arbitrary limit set to demonize western capitalistic economies fueled by hydrocarbons and coal.

From the archaeological record, we know that epoch’s that were warmer than today, life flourished.

But that does not tell us what is the global climate that is optimal for current mankind.

Bob Falfa is famous because he stomped on the pedal of a 55 Chevy 427 gasser, spun out and rolled it into a ditch.

He’s been excessively using fossil fuel ever since.

Back in high school, a friend of mine had a 55 Chevy 327 gasser. One day we opened the dumps (no mufflers) and rumbled through the middle of town. No police interfered in our fun! 🙂

That was a nice car. Would love to have it now. There’s something about those early 1950’s cars that I really like. I guess that is because it was the era when I was growing up.

My parents had a 1951 Chevy and in that car you had to turn the key on, and then you had to press the starter button to get the starter to turn the motor over. When I was about five years old, I got in the car with my brother and sister and I took them for a ride. I didn’t intend for that to happen, we were just playing in the car, but I accidentally pushed the starter button and the car moved forward a foot or two. Instead of turning the motor over and starting the engine, since the key was not turned on, the motor would not start, so the starter just made the car lurch forward a foot or two, because the car was in first gear.

So, I realized I could make the car move, and I pushed that starter and ended up at the end of the alley that bisected my block, which was about 100 yards from my house. But then I ran into a problem: I didn’t know how to back up, or turn around, so I was stuck. So, I went home and got the babysitter (my older cousin), who just about had a heart attack after learning what I had done, and she got the key and drove the car back home.

I never did hear anything about it from my parents. Perhaps my cousin didn’t tell them what happened. 🙂

I did something real similar with a ’48 Plymouth…kid sister ratted me out…didn’t end badly, but I was informed the Death penalty would happen the next time.

Ironic Impairment: He literally owns enough private aircraft to qualify as a decent 3rd-world air force. (I think he’s crashed more planes than types I’ve actually flown) And if I had his kind of money, I’d probably own a small air force too. But the one thing I wouldn’t do is lecture soccer moms in minivans or guys in their pickup trucks that I’m scared to death that they’re destroying the planet.

This is John Kerry level arrogance, which is no small feat.

Harrison Ford is an okay actor, there are better and worse actors but I never look to Ford for science or climate guidance.

Why would anyone look to actors or politicians for guidance on anything ??
Both groups –
use acting to enrich themselves,
are narcissistic & need the applause from their fan base,
like to think they are important,
need prompting to stick to the script,
when the action gets tough, they need a stuntman or fall guy,

Oh, and never look to Ford for flying lessons !!!

Acting..???

His two main rolls, Indiana Jones and Hans Solo, are essentially the same person, a dopey larrikin… his natural state.

Roles, and Han. No they’re not the same character. They’re pretty different.

Well when you’re on the outer with the neo-Disney set for those patriarchy hero films some hypocritical climate changer stuff could blend you quietly back in with the Bollockswood crowd.

November 4, 2025 3:20 am

Every scary prediction about what “climate change” that has reached its expiration date has been WRONG, not right. And not wrong in some incremental way, but WILDLY OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY wrong.

Any examination of human history shows that warm climates were GOOD, not bad. It is COLD that brings misery and suffering, not warmth.

The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy.

LMAO! What a perfect description of the people pushing the “climate crisis” scam!

November 4, 2025 4:13 am

Just remember, Han Solo, that it took a droid to fix your Hyper Drive.

Now we honor your better self as an actor by recognizing you are still reading from a script.

There is no climate crisis. There never was a climate crisis. It was always just a movie.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Dear Mr Solo, the climate does not follow the script. That is not surprising because the script is crap. Stay well away from it.

Those actors who rely on the residuals from these movies to help make ends meet, would appreciate it if Mr. Ford would just STFU and stop driving the fans away from his movies.

I had a neighbor growing up who was doing crew work on one of the early Bond movies. During shooting, the call went out for somebody, anybody, who could speak Portuguese. Since my neighbor could, the quickly got him registered with SAG and when the time came he spoke one line, in Portuguese. For the rest of his life, every time that movie played, he got a check from SAG for about $1.25.
