The climate scheme failed, so what is next? The Next Big Leftist Grift, that is, stop capitalism and enrich oneself in the process. Need A.I. to figure it out. Stay tuned!

Yeah! That’s the ticket. Use the manmade computer logic to go thru thousands of studies and grants and observations and announce a large number of “scientists” believe that human activity caused the Earth’s climate to change and humanity was doomed.
Somewhere in history there was no experimental results of actual experiments …. well, kinds hard to control the Sun and volcanoes and large wind currents and ditto for ocean currents. So the alarmists used correlations and not experimental results Kinda like the education establishments did to “prove” school food programs helped learning….heh heh, where are we now in education WRT the rest of the world?

Well, as deep throat said years ago, “follow the money”.

Well, yes learning about science from experts does not make one a scientist. Carrying out the scientific method is required . Academia is also full of experts who have done little or no actual science. Correlation is not proof of causation.

They all are employed protesting Trump and Palestine.

Funny how all those protests have dried up. Almost like all their money disappeared, too.

Same place all the caravans of migrants went. USAID isn’t paying the bills any more.

And so it came to pass that the protest movement had its own li’l Existential Crisis to resolve.

It spanned only the 163 days, from 9/11/21 thru 2/22/22* — with a final boost on 10/7/23 — for the Pro-Climate-Wars movement to convert itself to a Pro-Shooting-Wars movement.

If you paid any attention to what the Campus Kids were saying, at that moment, you’d find that they had a pretty clear picture of what was happening.

At that moment, I walked into the lecture hall, and called out customarily ‘What Day is This?’
They called back with what sounded like ‘Tuesday‘.
So I wrote ‘Tues(2z)Day: 2/22/22‘ on the board.
What’s special about this day?
And they answered: The War starts today.

In Shellenberger’s X-post (a long one), he concludes on that fine note:
Even Thunberg, whose blank-eyed fury once symbolized the climate movement’s moral clarity, no longer holds a cardboard sign on Fridays; she’s now focused on protesting Israel’s war with Hamas.

Shellenberger is also strongly promoting Disclosure of the UAP phenomenon.

Protesting Donald Trump is much more fun than protesting the weather.

The weather can ruin your protest. Trump, not so much.

Trump can stop the government from paying you to protest for more government.

The BIG question: Where are all the climate apocalypse protests?

My take: since the meme of catastrophic climate change due to global warming has
— been overplayed for the last 50 years,
— never been listed in polls as being in the top five things of most-concern to those being polled,
— is suffering from an ever-increasing number of science publications and hard data establishing the falsehood of the meme and any “consensus” surrounding it,
all the vocal “chicken littles” have shifted to get behind the latest and great meme certain to be an existential threat to humans and Earth itself: artificial intelligence.

If it’s not AI deciding humans are illogical/obsolete and therefore wiping them off Earth, then its gotta be the AI data centers sucking up all available electrical energy on Earth!

Remember you heard the coming apocalypse here first . . . now get out on the streets and into MSM and protest!

P.S.: “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” — H.L. Mencken

The protests stopped because the Left never believed in it, they don’t believe in anything, every ’cause’ from nuclear disarmament to trans rights to climate change just has temporary usefulness as a tool in undermining ‘Society’ which is inherently unjust, unfair, oppressive blah blah. Once a government emerges that plainly is not going to destroy the country for ‘the climate’ the Left gives up and moves on.

All of that, yes, but add to it opportunities to “buy” votes.

May 16, 2025 4:50 pm

Protests are just not needed any more. Most of Europe plus Canada and Oz are well set on the path to net-zero self-destruction. Ignoring recent lessons from Germany and Spain (“who needs those ugly car factories anyway?” and “I read on Tik Tok that it was sabotage by Big Oil”), the long slow decline will go on till recovery is out of reach. Once-proud and productive nations sinking into the bog-hole of history.

Plus, you know, when the object appears to be the demolition of industrial society, a big but unexpected assist has miraculously appeared – the destruction of civil society by the Religion of Peace. I suspect that Big Left will find itself marginalised, powerless and howling at the moon once sharia rules the caliphate.

re “Once-proud and productive nations sinking into the bog-hole of history” and the destruction of civil society by the Religion of Peace”
However accurate may be your diagnosis, the prognosis may be premature.
As in ‘rumours of my demise may have been premature’.
Don’t you see the way out of this mess?

Leftists will find themselves dangling from lamp posts once (not if) the Religion of Peace comes to power in Europe. That’s what happened in Iran in 1979.

Prof Sam Vaknin believes science should not be democratised. Such beliefs would put an end to Climate Science™, which is the pro democracy arm of science.

While it’s difficult to definitively say whether Prof. Sam Vaknin believes science should not be democratized, some of his writings and statements suggest he has concerns about the potential downsides of widespread public engagement in science, particularly if not handled thoughtfully.

Vaknin is a member of the Board of Advisors of CFACT Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow.

The reason these protests have petered out is that the protesters are finally getting it through their thick skulls that tax-paying consumers and the general public see that there is no climate crisis to begin with and they certainly don’t intend to pay more and alter their lifestyles to fight what doesn’t exist anyway. That’s why EVs and heat pumps aren’t selling. It’s also the reason that people continue to fly, consume red meat and buy whatever suits them and/or their pocketbooks best. And when they see how useless the various climate conferences and initiatives are and when they see the greatest carbon emitters still constructing coal plants and fossil fuel production continuing to rise, they realize the climate protests were just part of the overall climate scam and want no part of it.

May 16, 2025 6:51 pm

One partial reason might be that “climate protesters” like Extinction Rebellion lately have been thrown in the slammer for their excesses. Hard time prevents crime.

if one or more of these useful idiot protesters are arrested and charged with a crime , can they hold liable the people that organized the protest and paid the said useful idiot. or are they made to sign a liability waiver?
