‘Just Stop Oil’ … Stops

By Robert Bradley Jr.

“Little doubt that civil disobedience makes the perpetrator feel virtuous. But the anti-CO2, anti-industrialization movement is at war with society, reality, and itself. This fringe is urged to question a false cause with study and reflection … Real environmentalism please!”

The Guardian reported yesterday:

Just Stop Oil to ‘hang up the hi-vis’ after three years of climate action …. Final gathering in April will mark end of street protests although campaign to continue ‘in courts and prisons’ ….

Dozens of protesters have been jailed. Last summer, five supporters of Just Stop Oil were given multi-year sentences for planning road-block protests on the M25. Even after their terms were reduced on appeal this month, they remain the longest ever handed down for non-violent civil disobedience.

Meanwhile, new groups have emerged that have eschewed the previous commitments of some climate activists to be accountable for their actions, instead acting clandestinely to target organisations they regard as responsible for contributing to climate breakdown.

The major course correction was due to ineffectiveness, idiocy, and jail time. But not to the guilty. Climate activist Verel Rodrigues [1] reported yesterday on social media:

After three years of disruption, defiance and deep courage, Just Stop Oil are ending their protests. And honestly… it feels kinda emotional.

Just Stop Oil didn’t just shake things up – they changed the political conversation in the UK and around the world. What began in 2022 with bold, disruptive action, slow marches, and orange paint quickly became one of the most recognisable and influential climate campaigns in modern history….

Of course, it hasn’t been easy. The repression has been brutal. Laws were weaponised. Protesters jailed for years. But JSO held the line. And that defiance – that courage – shifted the Overton window. Three years ago, talking about a full stop to new fossil fuel projects was fringe. Now it’s policy.

And the UK economy is in decline and the commoners are burdened with high energy bills–for no effect on global climate (the country is responsible for 1 percent of global CO2 emissions)…..

Continuing:

…. yes, Just Stop Oil hanging up the hi-vis feels emotional. But it also feels like a baton being passed. As they’ve said: the campaign doesn’t die – it evolves. Into the courts, into the prisons, and maybe even into something new, bolder, and even more global. Disruption works. Resistance matters. And movements can win

Or lose. Just Stop Oil would not stop if it was winning. Just the opposite.

Little doubt that civil disobedience makes the perpetrator feel virtuous. But the anti-CO2, anti-industrialization movement is at war with society, reality, and itself. This fringe is urged to question a false cause with study and reflection and turn their ire (without violating property rights or inconveniencing the general public) to wind and solar industrialization on land and in the waters. Real environmentalism please!

It’s a climate improvement! Perhaps we always need to say that in response to the crisis mongers.

Yes, the 1C or even 1.5C of warming measured from the coldest period of time in recorded human history, the Little Ice Age, is a vast improvement, and not even directly attributable to our energy use and CO2 emissions. We should all just sit back and enjoy what Mother Nature is giving us, the best time to be alive EVER.

Whatever the signs are made of, how can anyone respect the willfully ignorant who insist on inflicting hardship on the rest of humanity by force and intimidation?

Well that is just one positive the DOGE turning off the money supply from the USAID to climate protests groups we must thank the new administration for. Many more to come, let us hope the endless cash for COP out meetings will cease too.

Universities in Australia are seriously worried about their money supply drying up with loss of USAID funds. Scientists are pleading with Albanese to talk to the USA to get it siorted out.

Australian universities have been living well beyond their means, reliant on handouts with progressive strings attached and their immigration scam for overseas ‘students’ and their families.
Education should not be a route for immigration.

And the UK courts started sending the organisers and protesters to jail.
Suddenly it wasn’t so much fun disrupting other peoples lives…

Funny how that 100£ for an afternoon of protest with friends, doesn’t seem to work for a couple years in jail.

USAID defunding is just a bump in the road. The shortfall will be made up by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party).

Trust me, that won’t happen, they are focused on the ASEAN countries and Russia as well as ex Soviet Union

There is no joint funding between China and the US, Europe and Aus, except some equipment grants, and the odd project on various things like energy, viroligy and wherever topic is hot around the world

The total is minute, is heavily focused on tech, requiring some company investment, and no money goes outside China anyway, each side funds its own part

The total is peanuts

You can work on EU projects or with US academics sometimes, but the US side has to fund its own costs and the Chinese side gets very little (like 5 to 10k USD). They’ve basically been abandoned recently because the Chinese academics in the US will not risk collaboration with Chinese universities, especially for no money involved

In the EU case, the Chinese side gets nothing, it’s just a chance to collaborate on research

Greenpeace was another funding source for Just Stop Oil, so yes it is a primary reason these climatards are running and hiding. They were also getting funding through the USAID scam, that is over. They ain’t getting free money so the “activism” comes to a halt.

Just Stop Oil demos cost police £3.5m in month ” – BBC

Not to mention all the people who needed to get somewhere – hospital, funeral etc etc etc. Those costs had to stop – to help out Rachel from Accounts (Customer Complaints).

Incidentally in Lincolnshire…

A giant new gas field discovered below Gainsborough will not be touched, the government has pledged. The company behind the discovery – thought to be worth around £110billiion – say it could create thousands of jobs and power the UK for years.
However, no new licenses are being issued for onshore gas extraction (known as fracking) and the government plans to outlaw it completely.

Interesting about the gas in the ground. The great part about that if you think about it, it can be used in the future. Think about how much coal, oil and gas has been burned to make renewables. That fuel is gone forever. Those resources really went down the rabbit hole.

But, apperently, he has spent net-zero time reading the actual science with a critical eye, with any skepticism or any questions. This is typical for those who substitute political ‘action’ for thought. Once the fervor of self righteiousness takes hold, there is no consideration for the ‘other’ who has been identified as an ‘enemy’ and deserves whatever consequences obtain from the ‘actions’ of ignorant moralists.

Ronald Stein

Today, policymakers setting “green” policies are oblivious to the reality that so-called “renewables, ONLY generate electricity but CANNOT make anything. In addition, everything that NEEDS Electricity is made with petrochemicals manufactured from crude oil, coal, or natural gas.

  • ALL electrical generation methods from hydro, coal, natural gas, nuclear, wind, and solar are ALL built with the products, components, and equipment that are made from the oil derivatives manufactured from crude oil,
  • All EV’s, solar panels, and wind turbines are also built with the products, components, and equipment that are made from the oil derivatives manufactured from crude oil.
  • All the transportation fuels for cars, trucks, merchant ships, aircraft, and military are made from refined crude oil.
  • Getting rid of crude oil would eliminate electricity, and all the products that need electricity to operate, and ground all transportation!

This reality can easily be ignored if you buy wind turbines and solar panels from China.

So basically their rank and file idealist youths, green grannies and zero-zealots won’t come out to block roads any more because the risk of jail terms and fines is too onerous. It’s refreshing to know that enforcement of the laws of the land, when “seen-to-be-done” as stated by Lord Chief Justice Hewart, still functions in society.

So, all the free money they were getting has been shut off and they are going to jail for their public stupidity. It was never about climate, it was always virtue signaling theater masking a huge scam to steal money. Cut off the money and they just stop.

I have no respect for these guys. If they interfere with anyone’s freedom to live their lives as they choose they should be jailed for a long long time. More importantly we need to make sure these guys get what they are asking for. They should be forbidden to own or operate any fossil fuel powered mode of transportation or machinery. Their gas and electricity should be disconnected from their homes. They will have one year to reconsider their attitude. If they have realized the error of their ways all rights and privileges will be restored. If not I am sure they will be happy with their new lifestyle, no need to thank us.

March 29, 2025 4:00 pm

The sentences handed out were way too lenient for these terrorists.
Only the harshest sentences possible will deter future acts of terrorism by these dispicable anti-social deluded people.
