From NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT
By Paul Homewood
During the recent wildfires in Los Angeles, the media briefly latched on to a study which apparently blamed climate change for making the blazes more likely to occur and also more intense. But is that really what the study says? Let’s take a look.

“www.youtube.com’s server IP address could not be found”. WHa??
Link works for me..
But it is irrelevant anyway, because they are using “climate computer game simulations”,
… so even if the press does totally misrepresent what the computer game simulation spits out..
… any conclusion of any sort is based on non-science from the start..
At the time I posted, the embedded video wasn’t showing, and that’s the message that was shown, for several minutes.
Here is Sabine explaining what happened to the video (https://youtu.be/vDsjeKo3u3o?si=w_qAMmncn4GW2L15). In short, due to the usual whining from the climate cabal, she pulled the video for a while while she rechecked her conclusions. In the end she found the paper to be worse than she thought.
Yes: “this paper is even worse than I thought” and “Dark orange, my ass”.
Also notes the paper was a “rapid attribution study” and not peer-reviewed, although this caveat was not mentioned in the press release.
Climate journalists are even more worthy of scorn than most climate scientists.
I find that on the scale of credibility, Climatology ranks just below Scientology.
Link works for me…
Good to see Sabine being a bit of a climate skeptic for a change…she’s gone up in my estimation slightly!
Here’s what the local Colorado Sabine (Kathy Sabine) reported…

100% confidence!
I had exactly the same reaction !
I have noticed her flip-flop several times now.
Perhaps, she needs do a much more detailed and balanced study on this topic – instead of putting her name forward, to something, someone else in her circle has reviewed …?
Blaming “climate change” for the LA fires is the worst non sequitur since “other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?”.
Chaparral gets dry enough to burn in a few hours, and wildlands management was deliberately not done.
Publishing news about a study that “finds” results from a statistically insignificant data source is the new science that everyone should be following, according to the mainstream media.
If that weren’t true, then they wouldn’t publish it. But they do.
There was a paper a couple years ago that trashed statistical significance. The CCC community latched onto it, and it now justifies such ridiculous attribution studies.
I’m with her, I am sick and tired of these lowlife bottom feeding pseudo scientists flat out lying to us. These are supposed to be well educated people working for us at institutions that are only operating because of our tax dollars. They need to be held accountable, the individuals who authorized the study, the individuals who did the study, the institution where the study took place, the individuals who peer reviewed the study and the institution that published the study. Lying and cheating is not okay especially by those we should be able to look up to. These guys suck.
A crack in Sabine’s uncritical belief in the climate fraud. If she continues to read the garbage climate publications for herself, I expect the cracks to rapidly grow.
Cracks are the first signs of an unstable foundation.
From what I’ve seen she’s see-sawed on the issue for some time.
Surely as soon as a confidence level bridges 1 then the result is statistically meaningless?
Generally, I regard Sabine Hossenfelder’s material on climate change to be off the mark. But in this video she is right. Her unsparing flaming of the bogus event attribution claims is justified. Good for her.
What do you expect from an organization with the title World Weather Attribution. Thier job is to attribute all weather to climate change, and they would have failed in their mission if they didn’t. And that means that they continue to receive funding from others (USAID?) and can continue their mission unhindered with the burden of being accurate as their supporters want nothing like accuracy, only results that produce the desired headlines. Job done. Move on.
Wildfires aren’t weather.
If it is not climate change it must be due to unnecessary vaccinations… or whatever the latest popular excuse of the day !
Climate change ??? don’t believe your lying eyes===>
It seems she has “taken down ” the video, at least if I interpret this correctly (must admit, I find her hard to pay attention to and did not stick with it to the end).
Story tip?
This Bel Air fire in Los Angeles happened in 1961! Apparently, the current city, county and state officials forgot about the lesson’s learned from that fire, as explained in this film. This is gross ignorance and all the leaders of the recent area that caught fire in January should be tried and convicted of gross negligence and burned at the stake – on a barge out in the ocean as they face the burned areas on shore, so as not to start another fire – as a warning and lesson to new leaders.

Sabine has put up another video “Why I took down my climate science video”
Sabine is normally so rational and data driven. But on climate change she reverts to the jungle. What is surprising is that she was surprised to find out that the paper finds no statistical evidence to support the “climate change caused the LA fires” hysteria.
could she finally be realising that it’s the greatest scam ever perpetuated on mankind
I listened to another sciencey podcaster waffle through climate – a careful ear could tell she had figured it out but … have to pay the bills.
Green forestry coupled with aggressive forestfire control is the formula for disaster. In Finland we do not have forest fires and we rake forests and have extensive forest road network, which allows fire fighters to put forestfires down readily. https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/12/12/trump-was-right-about-raking-finnish-forests/
