“Trump’s executive order bomb, followed by Congressional action to limit funds from the IRA and IIJA, promise to gut, or profoundly reshape, the U.S. green energy movement. January 2025 may begin a long decline for green energy and a return to sensible energy policy.”
President Trump has long been a supporter of traditional, consumer-driven energy. During his campaign, he spoke negatively about electric vehicles, wind, and other renewable energy sources. But in his first day in office, the new president began a historic shift in US energy policy, away from “green” energy and back to hydrocarbon energy.
On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed five wide-ranging executive orders that radically change United States energy and climate policy. These actions restore efforts to promote coal, natural gas, oil, hydropower, nuclear, and biofuels, while curtailing support for wind and electric vehicles. The Trump executive orders also rescinded orders issued by President Biden and closed federal departments established to promote climate change policies and green energy.
The executive order regarding “offshore wind” and “wind projects” immediately impacted the world wind industry. The US government owns all land from three miles to 200 miles offshore, so wind companies require a federal lease to build offshore systems. The order withdrew “all areas within the Offshore Continental Shelf” from wind leasing. The order also requires that the new Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, “conduct a comprehensive review” to determine the necessity for “terminating or amending any existing wind energy leases” and to submit a report to the President. The order also put a hold on the Lava Ridge Wind Project in Idaho, pending a review by the Secretary of the Interior, a project which was approved by the Biden Administration in December.
Wind energy markets were shocked by Trump’s order. The stock price of Orsted, a Danish wind system supplier, dropped 17% to its lowest price in seven years. Orsted proposed to build Sunrise Wind, the largest planned US offshore wind system, to be located southeast of New York City. The company immediately took a $1.69 billion impairment charge on US wind projects.
Wind suppliers RWE of Germany, Equinor of Norway, Renovaveis of Portugal, and Vestas of Denmark also suffered stock price declines. Italy’s Prysmian announced that it would abandon a plan to build a plant in the US to make cables for offshore wind systems.
Wind energy plans for several states have been crippled. California planned to install 25 gigawatts of offshore wind energy by 2045, with initial projects at Morro Bay and Humbolt Bay, but these plans are on hold for at least the next four years. Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Rhode Island, and Virginia are constructing or planning east coast offshore systems, but these programs will be reviewed, limited, or halted if not yet started.
The “Unleashing American Energy (UAE)” executive order calls for elimination of the “electric vehicle (EV) mandate” to promote consumer choice and access to gasoline-powered automobiles. It’s true that we have no formal EV mandate, but 22 states have zero-emissions vehicle laws or executive orders prohibiting sales of gasoline cars by a future date, typically 2035. On March 20 of last year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued updated emissions standards that would force auto manufacturers to sell an increasing number of EVs, rising from about 8% last year to about 56% of new light vehicle purchases by 2032.
The Trump orders also call for termination of state emissions waivers “that function to limit sales of gasoline powered automobiles.” The 1970 Clean Air Act established the federal government as responsible for regulating pollution, except where a waiver is granted by the EPA to a state. For years, California has set emissions standards, receiving EPA waivers to do so, with other states following California’s lead. The orders seek to terminate these waivers to California and restore emissions control to the EPA. Earlier this month, California withdrew their request for a waiver for regulations to electrify heavy trucks and locomotives because it appeared that Trump’s EPA would not grant that request.
The order also calls for the “elimination of unfair subsidies and other ill-conceived government-imposed market distortions that favor EVs.” This probably refers to coming efforts to eliminate the $7500 tax credit on new EV sales and also efforts to eliminate the Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards issued by the Department of Transportation, which force auto manufacturers to sell a larger share of EVs.
The US economy today includes several green energy industries which probably would not exist without the vast array of federal and state subsidies and tax credits. Wind, solar, EV charging, carbon dioxide (CO2) capture, and green hydrogen receive a limitless stream of subsidies and tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), both of which were passed during the Biden Presidency. The CATO institute estimates that renewable energy will receive about $80 billion in federal funds during fiscal year 2025.
During his campaign, Mr. Trump vowed to eliminate the money flow from these two acts, and his first-day executive orders reflect this. The UAE order calls for “termination of the Green New Deal,” and a halt to the disbursement of funds from the IRA and IIJA. President Trump will probably need to pass Congressional legislation to permanently reduce the flow of IRA and IIJA funds.
Wind and solar systems are intermittent, use 100 times the land area, and require at least double the transmission infrastructure compared to traditional coal, gas, or nuclear power plants. Few utilities would build wind and solar systems if not for the fear of human-caused global warming. But the new executive orders make it clear that the US will no longer pursue efforts to “mitigate” climate change.
In the executive order titled “Putting America First in International Environmental Agreements,” the President directs the US Ambassador to the United Nations, nominee Elise Stefanik, to notify the UN in writing that the US withdraws from the Paris Climate Agreement, effective immediately. The order also states that the US will immediately cease financial payments under the Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The orders direct executive branch officials to cancel at least five Biden executive orders on climate change, and to disband the Climate Change Support Office, the American Climate Corps, and The Working Group on the Social Cost of Greenhouse Gases. The orders also call for the EPA to review the 2009 Endangerment Finding for “continuing applicability.” That finding concluded that carbon dioxide endangered US citizens and is the basis for regulating CO2 emissions in the US.
The Trump actions also seek to boost the development of hydrocarbon energy in the spirit of “drill, baby, drill.” Key actions include re-opening the licensing of liquified natural gas terminals, opening federal lands for onshore and offshore oil and gas production, reopening Alaska lands for energy production, and reducing efficiency regulations on dishwashers, stoves, and furnaces. The President also declared a national energy emergency to speed the deployment of pipelines and other energy infrastructure. The Trump EPA and Department of Energy will roll back regulations on oil and gas to expand US production.
Trump’s executive order bomb, followed by Congressional action to limit funds from the IRA and IIJA, promise to gut, or profoundly reshape, the U.S. green energy movement. January 2025 may begin a long decline for green energy and a return to sensible energy policy.

More great news on the climate front.
This article keeps omitting the whole dysfunctional wind, solar, battery, EV, heat pump, etc., $multi-TRILLION/y brouhaha, is the result of CO2 being made the scapegoat, the villain, which is utterly nuts, and the IPPC knows it, because CO2 is THE vital gas to grow life, I.e., flora and fauna, which includes us.
Happer and many others have shown increasing CO2 from 400 ppm to 800 ppm, which is not possible, would increase world temps by less than 1 C, using physics theory invented more than 100 years ago.
Happer also showed, with or without clouds, CO2 has a warming effect of a small fraction of 1 C
The IPPC is using the big foghorn of the government-biased Corporate Media to brainwash us, that IPPC has its own proprietary science.
One look at more than one hundred temperature models should convince any idiot the IPPC climate science is bogus
A world wide IPPC hoax that has spawned a worldwide Wall Street $scam
There is no IPPC.
IPPC — Intergovernmental Panel of Planetary Control

Thank you.
I like your description better than the official name.
What the hell is “Protocol”
The article directy addressed percisely that….???
“The orders also call for the EPA to review the 2009 Endangerment Finding for “continuing applicability.” That finding concluded that carbon dioxide endangered US citizens and is the basis for regulating CO2 emissions in the US.”
If only we had somebody sensible in charge in the UK. Instead we have Ed Miliband (a Marxist fanatic) who is determined, via his Climate Change Act 2008, to destroy the UK energy system and hence destroy the economy All to bring in a Marxist dictatorship. The UK needs Trump’s help – now.
“The UK needs Trump’s help – now.”
Legend has it that Winston Churchill once said of us Americans: “Americans can always be trusted to do the right thing, once all other possibilities have been exhausted.” It is not really very complimentary to Americans.”
https://winstonchurchill.hillsdale.edu/americans-will-always-right-thing/
I guess we are at that point of exhaustion now with Trump moving away from green and renewable energy.
And the rest of the world will follow!
Yes, and most of the world was not following anyway!
I think Trump is more than willing to help the UK. The people just have to listen to what he has to say. When UK politicians attack Trump afterwards, you will know why: Because Trump is right and UK politicians are wrong. It is the UK politicians, and their Net Zero obsession, who have put the UK in the bad situation it is in now, not Trump.
Trump will show you how to turn it around if you will just listen. “Drill, Baby, Drill!” would probably be part of his advice. “Stop the windmills and solar, and build conventional power plants instead” would be another part.
It is reported that Trump may make his first overseas visit as president to the UK.
Trump and Nigel can have a good public conversation and talk about how bad the suicidal Net Zero policies of the Labour Party, and indeed, just about all political parties in the UK really are.
Net Zero is National Suicide. Trump will tell the UK citizens the truth. Then it’s up to the UK citizens to change the course of history, or continue down the Net Zero Road to Ruin.
Trump should not waste time telling others what to do.
They will see the great results in the US, THEN they will follow our example, or die by suicide
I believe that the most realistic estimate which I have seen of how much natural gas could be economically extracted within the onshore area of the UK is seven trillion cubic meters, equivalent to about one hundred years’ supply at the current rate of use (seventy billion cubic meters per year).
Yeah, it’s crazy to be depending on windmills when all that gas is available.
And the effect on the weather will be nil.
One for Miliband…
Trump has rejected the Paris agreement again, but game theory shows how other countries can still lead by example – The Conversation
The UK is certainly in the lead to be the first lemming over the cliff.
You don’t say.
The UK is already is in free fall, but in denial about it, because they used to have an empire
…and nobody declared an emergency to stop the fall.
Either that or they become the new version of boat people trying to reach the shores of Norway to gain more direct access to energy and wealth.
Sort of reverse Vikings ?
“leading by example”
That is SO virtuous!
But it doesn’t prevent a nation from going bankrupt trying to implement the insane Net Zero policy.
If they are trying to send a signal, why aren’t they over in China and India badgering them to stop building coal-fired power plants?
It’s a ridiculous situation brought to us by the radical Left.
Leading by *negative* example. Cautionary tales are always useful, so nice of the UK to volunteer to be a cautionary tale for the rest of the world.
The correct term: crash dummy”.
During his campaign, he spoke negatively about electric vehicles, wind, and other renewable energy sources. But in his first day in office, the new president began a historic shift in US energy policy, away from “green” energy and back to hydrocarbon energy.
Why the “But”?
Yeah, the “but” should have been “and”.
Good catch.
Instead of “But” perhaps it should read “Words turned to action on his first day…”
“January 2025 may begin a long decline for green energy and a return to sensible energy policy.”
We don’t want a long decline- we want a rapid collapse!
It’s not the end, nor is it the beginning of the end.
It is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
You should have mentioned that Winston Churchill proclaimed that quote during WWII.
TRUMP HAS BECOME A DICTATOR
Just as the Democrats predicted
If this pattern continues for four years, he will become the worst President in US history.
He is setting precedents that the next Democrat president will copy.
So far in just over a week Trump has declared three completely fake emergencies so he can seize more power than he could otherwise have
Energy Emergency
Border Emergency
California Water Emergency
He is threatening to impound funding for the Inflation Reduction Act that was approved by Congress. An unconstitutional act that bypasses Congress.
Let all our elected Congress people pass a budget (continuing resolution) and go home. Trump will decide what HE wants to spend the money on and what he wants to cancel. Just like a dictator. If SCOTUS decides impoundment is unconstitutional, just ignore them. They do not have an army or a police force to enforce their decisions!
There is also the insane bullying of Greenland, Panama, Gaza and Canada. The bullying of Columbia was deserved as they have to take back their citizens who broke into the US illegally. Whether they want them back or not
Trump’s Orders Feature Nonexistent Emergencies, Illegal Power Grabs, and Blatant Inconsistencies
Trump’s executive orders are legally dubious and inconsistent
Republicans are celebrating bully dictator Trump, but a dictator-like President is not what I voted for. He was not a dictator for Trump 1.0, but did not get much done. Has he changed into a dictator now?
Orr does that not matter to Republicans if their dictator does what they want done. But then what happens when we have a Democrat president, who will the act like a dictator and do the thigs we do not want done?
It’s time for the Trump cheerleaders to stop. If these executive orders can completely bypass Congress and the courts, America as we knew it is gone. And we have a dictator.
RG, Libertarian since 1973
Voted for Trump in 2020 and 2024
That does not make me a Trump cheerleader.
If a Democrat president seized power like Trump is doing, I would have the SAME objections.
How is Trump “seizing power” when he was elected to office by US voters?
And EOs are legitimate levers of presidential office?
and he’s just done things he said he was going to do.
He also hasn’t done anything that Biden didn’t do during HIS first 100 days…aka enacting ExOs overturning the wishes of the prior administration
Biden was worse, but he had four years to be worse. Trump has only had nine days
Biden:
1500 political prisoners
Forced Covid shots
Ad he was a crook too, with the Biden crime family led by The Big Guy Joe Bribe’em.
How a president does things is just as important as what he does. If you value liberty.
Nah.
Only DEI hires are awarded certificates and adoration for “HOW” they go about their jobs.
The rest of us (and presidents) are acknowledged only for “WHAT” we achieve & deliver.
Well that is really not true. Certainly the means do not justify the end. (except to communists) However, as my comment above intimate, other then the Greenland statements, Mr Trump is not being a dictator, and he will not be going to war to overtake Greenland, and the emergencies he has declared, are just thatd, while the declared CO2 crisis was false and Trump is countering that with the same powers only his are constitutional and the EPA are power ceeded outside the constitution and are tyrannical.
We DO value liberty. Which is why we want the POTUS to rapidly put an end to “green energy” scams, worse-than-useless EVs being mandated by regulations based on junk science, and things like dishwashers and heating equipment that won’t do their jobs due to overregulation also based on said junk science. Not to mention protection of free speech, as opposed to the “Ministry of Truth” Biden and company tried to establish).
Those who “value liberty” realize that the Eco-Nazi Democrats and their oppressive ideas have got to go. No time to waste, Biden left a trail of shit that would fertilize the Sinai (points to those that get the reference).
Three fake emergencies in 9 days?
Threatening to impound funds approved by Congress for a law he personally does not like
Did you read my commet?
Your “commet” goes way over my head Richard.
(Just like Halley’s)
Not fake emergencies at all.
and “Energy Emergency
Border Emergency
California Water Emergency”
are real emergencies. Mr Green, I support your perception that CO2 produces some minor beneficial warming via a small and simple increase of residence time of a very limited amount of outgoing LWIR energy while incoming SW insolation remains consistent. Yet if you do not see the above things as a national emergency you are deeply blind in those areas. It is not a debate you will win.
Panama being ever more controlled by China is not good, or in the spirit of the original agreement to develope that project. Canada can take very simple steps to avoid tarrifs. And Calif is being destroyed by insane environmental policy. I may agree with you about Greenland, yet I would need to spend a few hours research to understand. Oh , and he has done exactly what to Gaza?
Executive Orders are legal, have been used by all presidents, none of the them were labeled dictators.
You just do not like he is demolishing your favorite castle on quick sand in Spain, and firing all the people who were sucking off the giant tit
I have a home in Bingham Farms, Michigan. but no castle in Spain. I want Trump to fire every appointed by Democrats goobermint employee. A president gets to appoint about 4000 people and 1300 of them require Senate approval.
Obama started the hiring and spreading of wokie, dokie leftists, and Hillary was to be Obama’s third term, but naive Trump took over and the Democrats had a field day for four years screwing him, while the cabal behind in the basement/on the beach, senile, grifting-grafting, marionette Biden, called the shots, issued the EOs, which Biden “signed”.
Now, these same Democrats are crying and whining and confused. They had such a good thing going destroying the US, as we know it.
In Ukraine, US-AID paid almost all costs of Ukraine media to keep them in business brainwashing all.
The PAUSE will reveal all sorts of BS in many countries
It does not work quite like, yet it may.
But some were dictators. FDR is a prime example whose executives orders, still in effect, are responsible for legislation that has greatly reduced individual choice in many way and is responsible for the federialls having many trillions of bucks that are extracted from the general population in ways they could not have acquired otherwise.
FDR took advantage of the depression, just like Hitler and Mussolini did, to institute a form of federalizing, akin to martial law.
Undoing that would be a major task
Getting rid of half the federal government, including abolishing the unconstitutional US education department, would be a good start
There’s no question DT is more organized this time!
Gangbusters we used to call it.
There arer a lot of Republicans who are not MAGA, Democrats act like a team (the Borg)
Mr. Greene: Thanks for the wake-up laugh. Libertarian since ’73, and you DON’T wonder at the utter failure of libertarians to steer gov’t policy in your direction during your “reign”? Maybe if you switch to “progressive”, you can render progs as “effective” as libertarians? Do yourself a favor.
At least you could bundle your Auto and Home…Progressive
Democrats did seize power. This is called reversing the dictates they imposed. Congress can step in at any time and do their job for a change so this back-and-forth Executive power play becomes moot. Until they do, this is what has been allowed to emerge.
It began long ago, perhaps most decidedly with Wilson and Roosevelt. LBJ upped the ante and others have played along. Americans have allowed the Republic to become a morass of democracy, or more accurately a crony quasi-fascist bureaucratic grab fest pandering to the fashion of the day to distract the people and enslave them.
At least Trump’s use of the existing machine throws a sabot into the works, perhaps slowing the juggernaut for a time. None of the declared emergencies are in any way imaginary. What has been imaginary up to now is the purported “service” to the welfare of the people.
The Democrats did seize power like Trump is doing. You not only didn’t complain, you objected when others pointed it out.
Issuing a lot of EOs does not make one a dictator.
You really need to find a way to reconnect with reality.
Mark, only it was not like Trump is doing. Yes, as far as executive orders and stretching the powers of the exexcutive branch.
Yet their methods greatly went outside our law and form of government. The EPA is extra-constitutional, and recent supreme court decisions have affirmed that. All of Covid including vaccine administration was not constitutional. And there emergencies were fake, and Trumps are real. How Mr Green does not see the destruction of Germany as a result of an energy emergencies and illegal immigration, I cannot understand. How he does not see the same thing happening in the US as an emergency is unreal.
The leftist greene-bot unleashes another mindless rant.
It’s only the Nature of the Beast…the Greene Gene
Add Executive Order to the concepts you don’t understand.
The US Constitution grants powers to the executive branch. When the scope of an EO falls within those powers, the order is constitutional (broadly speaking). When an EO tries to transfer student loan debts to the public, for example, it’s illegal because the executive branch does not have that power.
Another example is Trump delaying the shutdown of TikTok. That is illegal.
Another example is Trump delaying the shutdown of TikTok. That is illegal.
Admittedly I haven’t read the actual law that was passed (not that interested really), but I had the impression that there was a provision for a presidential delay to be permitted?
We call it TDS-and yet you say you voted for him? The US borders ARE an emergency; millions of unvetted illegals are a real serious problem. Energy? Grid instability, useless greenie projects, rising power costs…and Cali is a basket case…and the Dems were-and are still trying to cram nonsense down our throats. As for his bullying, wait and see…you really don’t have a clue, do you, of his methods.
The border is not an emergency. Just enforce the laws, unlike Biden and the problem almost goes away. That’s no emergency.
The energy emergency is BS. The US oils and gas industry was booming under Biden in 2023 and 2024 with record production and record exports/ That’s an emergency?
the California a water emergency that requires the US military? is bizarre total BS. What is the US military going to do to give CA more water?
These are unhinged fake emergencies. Dictators declare fake emergencies to seize more power. Like the March 19, 2020 Covid emergency … under Trump 1.0
Look behind the numbers regarding record oil/ gas production. The emergency is the absolute fact the increase is 100% due to increased production from private land. Production from Federal land has dropped from near 30% to close to 20%. In addition to the reduction, Biden, et al we’re limiting approvals, leases, permits and the big one, trying to remove-restrict more lands/areas for future exploration and mineral recovery. That’s the emergency.
Why is it an emergency? Trump could reverse pretty much all Biden EOs in explicit ways without declaring an “emergency” . An official emergency will allow the creation of laws and regulation that could not otherwise exist under the US Constitution. A very bad move for the US future.
No permanent regulations can be established, and unlike Covid, unvetted immigration and energy, as the life blood of every nation, are real emergencies, and you are simply wrong, they cannot be reversed without the emergency order. They would be tied up in court just like Trumps last term.
“The border is not an emergency. Just enforce the laws, unlike Biden and the problem almost goes away. That’s no emergency.”
There was an emergency at the borders before Trump took over.
And lo and behold, no new congressional legislation was needed to stop the flood of illegal aliens, as the Democrats always claimed, using this as an excuse for the border emergency they were presiding over.
Trump takes over and in a week there are less than one hundred illegal aliens trying to cross the border. From thousands a day under Biden, to a trickle today under Trump.
The Democrats wanted millions of illegal aliens to come into the United States, even if they were criminals. You have to ask why.
Just think of all the death and destruction and misery Trump’s deportation policy is shielding the American people from. The murderers, rapists and thieves will have to commit their future crimes in their own country, not the United States.
Give Trump a little time and there won’t be any illegal aliens crossing illegally and the drugs and the trafficking of women and children will come to a halt.
I remember when an emergency was declared and one millions $ was allocated to stop the illegal drug trade. Now it it probably hundreds of billions every year and the drug flow continues to increase — because the legislation creates vast opportunities for big profits.
The emergency has existed for decades.
The Biden cabal made it a lot worse
“The Democrats wanted millions of illegal aliens to come into the United States, even if they were criminals. You have to ask why.”
The simplest explanation is that, though illegal, they get counted in the Census. It has been estimated that if the illegals in California were not counted, they would lose up to 4 Congressional seats. Not only that, but $Billions of dollars of federal funds are allocated to various programs based upon the population, legal and illegal.
14th Amendment, Article I, Section 2:
Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed.
If you remember the 2020 Census, Trump tried to add a question about citizenship, but was shot down.
“The energy emergency is BS.”
The energy emergency is real.
American Net Zero Fools have added so many windmills and solar to our electrical grids, while simultaneously removing coal-fired power plants, that every grid in the United States has recently put out warnings about how fragile each grid is.
If we had an arctic front come through, like the one that came in February 2021, our electrical grids could not handle it, from the way they talk.
My particular grid was warning about shortages of electricity supply when the temperatures were about 105F, and expected to last for a couple of days at that level. I can say that if 105F now puts my grid in jeopardy, then we are going to have trouble in the future because 105F for a couple of days is not even close to the kinds of temperatures we experience around here during some summers.
So my grid is right on the edge of disaster if they can’t handle anything above 105F for three days running.
So there is an energy emergency. All of us in the U.S.are closer than ever to blackouts.
All because Net Zero fools think it is a good idea to add windmills to the grid.
There was no danger of grid blackouts before windmills came along.
Windmills and Solar are not reliable generators and that is the problem, along with taxpayers subsidizing them, keeping them going when they are not economically viable and are actually a detriment to the goal of supplying electricity to the people.
Wind and solar expansions could be ended without extra-constitutional laws and regulations. Therefore no “emergency” is required.
California is extra screwed up but an “emergeny” to give the Federal; government more power over state sovereignty just means extra constitutional powers being seized by the federal government.
Emergency powers are legal. Due to recent supreme court decisions it is easier to challenge them, and that is appropriate. Yet these are real emergencies, and the ability of RINOs, law fare and the deep state to stop all effective policy is very real.
You are simply wrong. And the emergency is real. It took Trump most of his first term to really effect immigration policy, and he had to fight the courts the Democrats, and the RINOs every step of the way. And it cost far more then needed, and our deficit and the destruction of the dollar is very much a danger.
Having a proper border fence, defended with armed guards, tier gas, stink bombs, etc. to drive illegal intruders away from US soil is essential for the US, and decades overdue.
“Just enforce the laws, unlike Biden and the problem almost goes away.”
Mr Green, you are not a dunce at all, yet you make such a statement? He cannot enforce the laws without declaring the real emergencies that exist. No borders, no nation. Without declaring an emergency, and millions of undocumented unvetted illegals, many from nations that hate us, many that are violent criminals and part of organized crime in our nation, and hundreds of thousands of displace children, is an emergency, and without that declaration he would be stopped from finding them and removing the illegals and those that are not working at all, and stopping the inflow of millions more.
The rise of cost of energy was destined to do the same to us as what Germany energy policy is doing to them m whis is destroying a nation. Avoiding a major depression is an emergency, and I am far from certain that we will. Energy is the life blood of every nation. What is happening to Germany due to immigtation is identical to the emergency we face here, in a much larger nation.
As to Calif. Calif produces food for tens of millions of people, and lack of water and protecting our national parks and forest, is an emergency. As far as I know the military is being used at the border, not to force rational water use, However water as a resource, is the cause of many wars, and the lack of is certainly an emergency. You have not witnessed the thousands of acres of beautiful almond trees and other crop trees, all torn up and rotting on the fields. All the water flushed to the Pacific for a fish that the have not found one of in over seven years, could have gone to the central valley growers and greatly reduced the waters pulled from the aquifers. The destruction of hundreds of thousands of acres of Forrests, due to insane Forrest policy, is an emergency.
No sir, the destruction of our republic is certainly an emergency, and for you to label it as unhinged and fake, is simply wrong.
Ok Rosie O’Donnell
“Never engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.” – Winston Churchill
Like yourself?
all please avoid personal insults, as it degrades real communication and proper debate.
Was Biden considered a dictator when he came into office and signed EO’s to undo Trumps EO’s?? How many of Biden’s EO’s did Trump undo? 70 some wasn’t it? Do you consider Biden a dictator for signing all those EO’s?
The intellectual dishonesty is strong in you.
Stupid he is, reproduce he should not…to borrow somebody else’s words.
Democracy reduced to governance by partisan EO….something is wrong…rumors of 200 of them in Trumps pipeline.
There’s obviously a LOT of work to be done then, isn’t there?
Biden made a MESS!
Understand that a “emergency” declaration is a means to acquire powers not allowed by the Constitution. That is its one and only purpose.
Other EOs are either good practices within established standards or minor irritations in comparison to an emergency declaration.
EOs are legal
What they say matters, not that they exist.
There certainly is an energy emergency in the State of California with constant PSPS events regardless of season and the need to buy 1/3 of state needs from our of state
Absolutely given the millions pouring over from…
Mexico
Honduras
Guatemala
Columbia
Venezuela
Haiti
Sudan
China
millions every year all crossing the Rio Grande on foot
Proven by the Palisades fire and the lack of water resources available to fight it…
Non functional hydrants
Empty reservoirs
Lake Mead diminishing
Colorado River drying up before the Gulf of California
Nope … No emergencies here
Been there done that already over the last 4 years with Chinese Premier XO Bai-Den
Your comment is total BS
The border is easily closed and if it takes help from the US military that is okay
The fake energy emergency completely ignores the US oil and gas industry success in the past two years
The CA fires were not caused by unprecedented water demand. The hydrants were not dry. There were four reservoirs available for helicopters to pick up water. One was closed until February 2025 to build a cover for it to keep the water cleaner. Helicopters and airplanes could not fly for two days because of winds, not because of politicians.
Lake Mead is not drying up because of actions by any politicians and the US military is not going to refill the lake.
The border isn’t so easily closed when there is nearly 500 miles of it unfenced.
No California Fires weren’t caused by a lack of water but the ability to fight them effectively was
The hydrants were effectively dry, just ask the firefighters in Palisades.
Unless the AP is wrong
https://apnews.com/article/wildfire-california-climate-603512236222f82c77901db1039e959f
Lake Mead drying up certainly affects Water Availability within all states with access by placing further demand on other sources
Yes, Lake Mead is reducing because of water draw from a greatly increased population on it headwaters. No emergency action, short of taking over the lives of millions of people and telling them their daily allowed activities, is going to change that.
Possibly carefully though out legislation, unburdened by green activists could produce some good results but unfortunately green activists are a legitimate part of out system, even though they may sometimes act beyond legitimate boundaries. If the later occurs, the system has ways to correct the problem.
A curious question, Mr Greene, if you will…
Just how does placing a “Cover” over a reservoir make it available for wildfire use?
Also, how long does it take to place a cover? It was closed not “until” but “since” February (per LA Times)
It only needed to be repaired.
The fire situation in CA is bad but it does not need actions outside Constitutional authority. The CA voters have the solutions within their power. That they choose otherwise is a legitimate, though sad, part of the United States best means of government.
The unfortunate truth!
Every illegal citizen in Calif is counted and gives the Calif government more power and money and there is definite evidence that they are major cheeters.
The refusal to send water to the central valley that feed tens of millions of people is a national emergency. Seeing many thousands of acres of productive crop trees pulled up and rotting on the ground is a national emergency. In Calif the march through the institutions is complete. Calif is not a functioning democracy. Every aspect is leftist controlled, right down to the school boards and local governments, and pole workers and courts etc…
Official emergencies made by EO NEVER end so whatever these may or may not do in the near time future, they are indeed a millstone around the neck. Future legislatures and presidents will use them to dastardly ends that will tie up individual freedoms and national wealth in very negative ways.
The Biden presidency is the worst think to have happened to the US during my lifetime — so far.
Ideally EO should only be able to affect the executive department. Emergency declarations should have a very short lifetime (e.g. 60 days) unless accepted by an ACTUAL 60% of the legislature. Even then the lifetime should be explicitly limited, by law, to some short time unless re-approved by the legislature in the same manner for the same period. When the EO ends, all laws and regulations pursuant to the EO should immediately become null and void.
I don’t know the laws on this but my understanding has been that the executive department does have some legitimate significant power as to whether or not to disperse at least some funds voted into legislation.
They end when the Goverment declares the emergency over.
Former President Biden and other renewable fanatics have no comprehension of what renewables can do, and what they CANNOT do:
Washington State: all passenger and light-duty vehicles of model year 2030 (or 2035 ?) or later that are registered in Washington State be zero emission vehicles;
The plan’s vision is a network where all Washingtonians can choose to drive or ride electric, with a goal of developing a convenient, reliable, affordable, and equitable charging experience for all. WA has a tax on “carbon” and has been counting on Federal money.
Many people live in multi-story apartments with quite a few of those on hillsides of the Puget Sound Region.
The State officials spend much time and money on these plans that are about as likely as the May 21, 2011 “rapture” of Harold Camping. But they too similarly believe, in this case the “Climate Cult Religion”.
On March 20 of last year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued updated emissions standards that would force auto manufacturers to sell an increasing number of EVs, rising from about 8% last year to about 56% of new light vehicle purchases by 2032.” Interesting, considering they can’t legally make ANY rules at all. When did the Congress and Senate pass any such thing into law?
This is precisely what should have been done during the Biden years and much earlier. Cut the subsidies and mandates for green initiatives and products that force consumers to pay for energies that not only cost more than their well-established counterparts but also lack their reliability. Why should citizens be held to a type of ransom to help prop up the fight against the non-problem of climate change when the only ones benefiting from the whole exercise are those that stand to profit from it.
