And by not attending the Davos conference, Trump now leads other international leaders in “quiet quitting” globalist environmental rules that have only strangled their economies and hurt their peoples.

After his election win in November, I wrote that President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team has prepared executive orders to withdraw the US from the Paris Climate Agreement and open up western lands for drilling and mining:
(a) The United States Ambassador to the United Nations shall immediately submit formal written notification of the United States’ withdrawal from the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The notice shall be submitted to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Depositary of the Agreement, attached as Appendix A. The United States will consider its withdrawal from the Agreement and any attendant obligations to be effective immediately upon this provision of notification.
This executive order was among the first he signed in the festive post-inauguration parade signing ceremony in the Capital One Arena.
…He intends to streamline permitting and review regulations that “impose undue burdens on energy production and use, including mining and processing of non-fuel minerals,” according to a list of priorities from Trump’s press office.
He also intends to take action to end land and water leasing for wind energy, and undo the Biden administration’s actions that promote electric vehicles.
Trump views energy prices as central to his mission to address widespread frustrations with the cost of living, and has argued that slashing red tape will help drive down energy prices and fight overall inflation.
“The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices,” Trump said during his inaugural address. “That’s why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill.”
The crowd very enthusiastically cheered his signing of the order.
The full title of that order is: “Putting America First in Environmental Agreements”.
The whole suite of newly signed presidential orders is listed on the highly revamped White House website. This executive order’s “Implementation” portion heavily targets funding commitments.
…(c) The United States Ambassador to the United Nations, in collaboration with the Secretary of State and Secretary of the Treasury, shall immediately cease or revoke any purported financial commitment made by the United States under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
…(e) The U.S. International Climate Finance Plan is revoked and rescinded immediately. The Director of the Office of Management and Budget shall, within 10 days of this order, issue guidance for the rescission of all frozen funds.
In his pre-signing remarks, Trump looked at the largest contributor of carbon dioxide from fossil fuel emissions….China.
“I am officially withdrawing the United States from the Paris Climate Accord – a one-sided deal that hurts American industries while letting China pollute freely. We will no longer cripple our economy for a globalist agenda!”
As an added bonus, Trump does not plan to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum this year in Davos. In fact, many international leaders are “quiet quitting” globalist environmental agreements that do nothing more than strangle their economies and hurt their people.
While Donald Trump, who is being inaugurated as U.S. president on Monday, is expected to address the forum via live video link on Thursday, a number of key leaders will be completely absent from the event.
These include Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as French President Emmanuel Macron, Italy’s leader Giorgia Meloni and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Of the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations — which includes the U.S., Europe’s biggest economies, Canada and Japan — the only head of state attending the summit in person is outgoing German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
I am looking forward to energy independence and regulations that properly balance reasonable environmental concerns with effective natural resource development.

This is Great News… over a TRILLION DOLLARS SAVED.
Over one Million. million dollars.
He should order that government employees can only attend climate related meetings remotely. Isn’t is remarkable that these employees want to work remotely from home, yet they want to travel to conferences?
They should not attend any climate related meetings. The climate is doing fine taking care of itself.

But Scissor, it is so much more fun to travel to an exotic location, eat good food, and party until the bars close down, all on someone else’s dime! Have a heart!
Remotely. We do need to keep a thumb on the pulse, just so to be better prepared to defend against outrageousness.
Future COPs, if any, will be entirely by ZOOM

Not only that, but he’s saved the West from economic self-impoverishment almost singe handedly.
As the rest of the climate deviant AGW believers Canada, Australia and parts of the EU will follow his lead eventually, if reluctantly due to economic and trade necessities and the fact that science does not support any climate crisis, or especially one caused by the essential gas of life CO2.
More than $100 TRILLION saved by the US by 2100, because each year we would be more and more maniacally:
Mining for materials, processing them, manufacturing them and building new wind and solar and battery systems, and replacing old wind and solar and battery systems and land filling them.
Round and round we go on a treadmill
All this, after being brainwashed by the government-controlled corporate media so we will robotically utter the mantra “we will outfox Mother Nature”.
The energy transition to “Net Zero” was never going to happen because impossible things don’t happen. That’s why they’re called impossible.
Keep in mind that the Paris Accord was a treaty and only not called as such because the US Senate would never consent.
Exactly so. Just as in 1998, the US refused to ratify the Kyoto Protocol either for the same reason. Bill Clinton knew that there was not the slightest chance of this treaty passing the Senate. So here we are, 26 years later, and the UN is still going nowhere with its globalist state agenda no matter how desperately Antonio Guterres pleads.
I trust that, with all the international schemes crashing and burning, Mikey is having a fit.
Exactly why it should still be treated as such and passed through congress to permanently end the snafu. 2/3 ratification is not possible.
And among the very first pieces of business should be to present to the Senate the Paris Agreement as a treaty with a recommendation to reject. By doing that he prevents any future administration from using an EO to rejoin it.
I’ve been recommending that same action for some time now. Good you beat me to it.
Trump has to do more than pull the United States out of the 2015 Climate agreement, he needs to demonstrate that “Climate Change”, “The Climate Crisis” of whatever it’s being relabeled as is for practical purposes a fraud. Taking your ball and going home needs to be accompanied with good and valid reasoning why. That didn’t happen during his first four year. He needs to step up to the plate and swing for the fence on this issue.
He should ask, what would Hitler do?
Why would that be even remotely relevant ?
I don’t know. That’s the thing about my humor. Sometimes I’m the only one that gets it. In this case, in retrospect, I’m not sure what I was thinking.
I got it, .because I know you like Trump.
Apparently, a lot of people did not know.
That makes me feel better. I’m making a mental note that genocidal dictatorial maniacs aren’t funny.

The effing election is over, can we please drop the Hitler jargon?
There is a focus on medical applications with respect to the massive investments and developments in AI. Hopefully AI can create a cure for TDS. So many people suffer from this essentially incurable disease.
The disease was hoped to go into a remission status post-election; however it seems to be mutating and developing an even stronger type.
AI will never, ever be worthwhile until the information available is balanced and all points of view see the freedom of Constitutional rights.
That would be bad advice.
he lost ,you know.
Trump is not a looser.
He already signed a requirement for the EPA and associated agencies to examine the endangerment finding. That was before he pulled out of the climate agreement. Pulling out of the agreement was just flipping them off, forcing another look at the endangerment finding is the real deal.
Yes, but he will need proper scientific analysis to prove his case conclusively, The CO2 Coalition has the required data, ditto Heartland Institute. So, making a watertight case shouldn’t take long. That will put the climate alarmists in flight world-wide about time too.
He doesn’t need to do that. He needs to reframe climate change as being net positive and the negative impacts as being manageable and that’s pretty easy because so far indicators such as a greening planet, increasing population growth and increasing food production, agree.
Both. Belt and suspenders are needed. This alarm has been going off for decades.
This would imply that humans have non-zero influence on climate, and more so, that they can manage the climate, and this managing is desirable, an unprincipled lukewarmer position that inevitably leads to “protecting green jobs” as long as they are American jobs, perpetuating parasitic climate-industrial complex. The important thing is to defeat the Narrative. CO2 is not a pollutant, humans do not affect climate. CCAGW is fraud.
The greening of the planet is not caused by climate change, either the real or the fraudulent type. It is effected by increased levels of the plant food carbon dioxide. The reason it is so pronounced is because the Calvin cycle is linear with respect to plant growth. In contrast, any warming by CO2 is reduced logarithmically as CO2 rises and, to date, any warming caused by this rise in CO2 has yet to rise out of the background using established real scientific methods.
He needs to revoke the EPA declaration that CO2 is a pollutant.
Be still, my beating heart.
Someone better than me needs to come up with a modern Grim fairy tale of Hansen and Greta.
Have you or anyone else heard anything from Greta lately?
I think she’s moved on the straight anti-capitalism and full-on Marxism. In other words, just another ultra progressive kook.
I see what you did there. ;-))
Man, I Soooo want someone to write it. It’s just begging for a good fairy tale.
Perhaps the oven would be gas powered?
Agreed. Here’s another: Mikey and Gavin rolling on the floor in a frothing fury, gasping “Nature Trick”. Somewhere in the background, the towers of East Anglia are crumbling into the ground like the Berlin Wall in 1990.
“shall immediately cease or revoke any purported financial commitment made by the United States under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.”
THREE CHEERS for that man !! 🙂 🙂
It’s over for the Catastrophists – there is nothing they can do short of convincing the BRICS nations to come on board in the future, and now the USA for the next 4 years.
There’s no point spending time an money on the IPCC and others – they have already told us that CO2 levels are not going to drop any time soon. This is the new normal so get used to it.
That does not mean avoiding the ultimate transition to other forms of transportation and power generation, nuclear being the clear choice for the latter. It’s time to start educating our next generation in the traditional sciences so that the transition is measured and sensible – not like the net zero fiasco.
They already stole the money for themselves, their useful idiots and, in turn, their useful idiot’s clapping seals. This is prosperity and money the normal people will never get back. We need to be even more vigilant in the future, because they’ll be back with knowledge of how they were defeated this time. Medieval people called them Satan, and for good reason.
I actually don’t understand the EU not doing the same because China’s historic emissions are now greater than the whole EU and that is confirmed from lefty green sources
https://www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-chinas-emissions-have-now-caused-more-global-warming-than-eu/
The EU is expected to pay for there emissions but China is not … how is that fair?
There has been a long history of excuses for the demand that only the West should reduce its emissions and that its OK for China and India to carry on increasing like there was no tomorrow:
then, when they weren’t and exceeded 10 billion tons
then, when they weren’t and reached EU levels
then, when they weren’t, having caught up
then, when they were installing still more coal
for some reason we don’t hear that much any more
More than anything else these perpetual excuses have shown the intellectual bad faith of the climate movement. If you were really serious about a pending global catastrophe, you’d not be defacing paintings in art galleries or blocking highways in the West, you’d be picketing Chinese embassies and raising banners in a certain Beijing square. Good luck with that one!
And, as Lurch himself has said, “If all the industrialized nations went down to zero emissions – remember what I just said – all the industrial nations went down to zero emissions, it wouldn’t be enough – not when more than 65 percent of the world’s carbon pollution comes from the developing world.”
John Kerry, Biden’s ‘climate czar’ admits U.S. carbon dioxide emission cuts are pointless – Watts Up With That?
50% of annual global emissions come from

As I read this great news, it is 8.00 am here in the UK. The wind turbines with a grid capacity of over 30GW are producing zero to the grid. Nothing is coming from wind today, at this time. The time for the UK to also drop out of the Paris Climate agreement has surely arrived.
Yes, only read to the end of these comments after posting myself, noticed the same thing. If wind carries on not performing its going to be quite a near thing this evening. The calm is over all north western Europe too, so there’s an end of the cry that its always blowing somewhere. Yes, but nowhere useful.
And the question you have to ask is, its 2030 and nuclear and gas are mostly down. Demand is up around 60GW (as in the recent NESO forecast). Wind, on a day like today, will be producing under 0.5GW from an installed base of 90 GW. How is the country going to avoid blackouts? Where is the power going to come from?
Inquiring minds want to know.
The actual grid supply situation is even worse than the basic data suggests. Obviously there is no solar power at this time of day and very little other than what the algorithms suggest it is, because there is no way of measuring it. In winter the solar is next to zero from end of November to February. The wind turbines are actually sucking power out of the grid to gently turn their hubs avoiding seizing up their bearings, when the conditions are like this.
There is a great example of this on the M42/A42. Half way along that Birmingham to Nottingham road is a wind turbine, just the one. It sits in a field next to the road and is always turning, It even turns at speed when there is mist or fog. It turns when the wind exists and when the wind does not exist. It is like an advertisement for wind. No matter the actual conditions it is there turning 24/7/365 without fail….amazing.
“The wind turbines are actually sucking power out of the grid to gently turn their hubs avoiding seizing up their bearings, when the conditions are like this.”
Interesting- I bet few people know this.
I didn’t, but it doesn’t surprise me.
The problem with the “It’s always blowing somewhere” mentality is that everywhere would need additional capacity as to be able to become everyone else’s “Somewhere”.
Windmill industry looks at this not as problem, but a lucrative business opportunity.
Meanwhile in the UK Ed Miliband explains that net zero is unstoppable, it has a momentum of its own… and as of the present moment, 08.40, demand is 40 GW, and this is what wind power of about 30 GW of installed wind faceplate is doing:
Min 0.093 GW
Max 1.028
Average 0.289
source: gridwatch
Tonight demand will likely hit 47-48 GW. Every gas fired plant in the country will be running and profiting. Prices will have soared. Absolute idiocy.
Candles at the ready
Sorry, you can’t use candles made of paraffin wax, a derivative of oil.
Candles emit CO2.
Funny, just about everything that can Burn emits a GHG in it’s fiery consumption. Except EV batteries, they only emit toxins.
Although I applaud this move, I wish he hadn’t used the word ‘pollution’. Yes, China does pollute more than any other nation, but it’s not with the basic building block of all life.
Yes, CO2 is *not* pollution. A bad choice of words.
Trump did the same thing in his last term. It is a good thing to do. Can’t deliver MAGA on idiotic sun & wind, whilst beholden to the climate bedwetters. . Give me a break…
Now, the other thing is this. He’s declared a national energy emergency. Does this give Congress or POTUS more leverage over loony green states, such as NY & California with respect to intervening in with a view of winding back or indeed abolishing state based nutty green policies that specifically and demonstrably prevent or hamper energy production or availability of FF energy resources?
There will be a need to force these states (including of course Wokeachusetts) to stop the net zero policies- because, it’s a fact, Wokeachusetts will not stop unless forced to- it’s that fanatic.
And he has to do it again due to CAGW Narrative still being dominant and CO2 still listed as pollutant by EPA. So, instead of curing the root cause he focuses on minor symptoms. Mind that anybody after him can reverse it again.
Trump does not understand that being on side of Truth would give USA more advantage, both physical and moral, than any wheeling and dealing trying to give USA unilateral advantage.
He pulls out of Paris Accord saying that China pollutes to its advantage, so why USA cannot pollute to its own advantage as well? This is hypocritical. The world belongs to all. If you truly consider CO2 a pollutant and yet willingly pollute to your own advantage, you confess to taking advantage of everybody for your profit, which is immoral.
Trump, being inherently immoral, does not even understand the value of high moral standards, particularly for POTUS.
Trump declared an Energy Emergency and says that gives him the ability to waive restrictions on building new power plants.
Trump also said he hates windmills and solar and wants to do away with all of it.
So I think if Trump can, he will stop as much windmill and solar building as possible.
States do have Rights, though, so I’m not sure how much Trump can interfere in an individual State’s climate change policies. If a State wants to build windmills, I don’t think Trump could stop them, unless they want to build in the oceans where the federal government will have the ability to stop them.
Absolutely the right thing to do. Not only does it save huge amounts of money for the world but it encourages other nations to realise that there is so much wrong with climate science. For example the Maldives have accepted crazy amounts of money sent to help with the non existent idea that the islands would be flooded by sea level rise. They haven’t and now it is known they will not in the next few centuries so, without international approval, they are spending the money on building several new airports all at near-beach-level. That misuse of international funding has to stop and Trump has done it twice now. Why do Democrat administrations always fail to understand the science? Why are we not forcing the money to be returned?
Because in any transfer of money, someone gets a cut and understanding the science does not allow the transfer of money. Let’s say it’s 10% (chuckle, chuckle). If it’s a large number, 10% is more than enough to get the climate liars a happy existence for doing nothing except lying to the young and stupid people. The larger the number, the more to spread around like pigswill. Then they run out of other people’s money. We just witnessed it in the USA, thank you.
‘while letting China pollute freely’ So The Donald believes that CO2 is a pollutant?
It pollutes in ways other than CO2.
Chinese real pollution is their problem of a sovereign nation, not a global problem. And they are working on it. UK, USA, Russia and other nations also polluted a lot during industrialization.
Actually, it is irrelevant that China pollutes in other ways. Paris Accord is all about CO2.
“So The Donald believes that CO2 is a pollutant?”
That’s a good question. We don’t know the answer to that. We really don’t know exactly what Trump thinks about CO2.
In fact, we don’t know the attitudes of many Republicans when it comes to CO2.
We will know more as this argument continues over CO2.
Probably just using the climate liar’s terminology. Many on here do too. A good example is saying “climate change” which, of course as we all know, means something other than climate change.
Well, Trump was pretty forceful in his condemnation of windmills and solar in an interview he did yesterday, and he was also promoting coal-fired power plants in the same interview, so he can’t believe that CO2 is a danger, otherwise he wouldn’t be saying these things.
“He also intends to take action to end land and water leasing for wind energy…”
I presume that will impact/stop wind development off the east coast? Especially New England?
I think so. I believe I read yesterday where one of the companies building windmills off the Northeast coast is reassessing their position after Trump got elected.
Without a vast array of windmills at sea- there is no chance of net zero in Wokeachusetts because almost nobody wants solar and wind farms on the land. The greens loved them when they were first installed in rural areas. Now that those sites have been used- and there are plans to put them closer to large communities- the greens aren’t so happy because that’s where they live. There is also a lot of resistance now to industrial battery systems. Looks like net zero is dead here though the governor doesn’t yet realize it. Now, if only the state will encourage new gas lines into the state. A large one proposed several years ago was blocked.
There is no chance for Net Zero anywhere, period. With or without windmills, on land or sea, etc.
“The greens loved them when they were first installed in rural areas.”
The “Greens”, don’t tend to live in “green” places…… ie the rural country areas..
If USA is anything like in Australia, Greens tend to live in wealthy inner city areas.
Greens also don’t care about destroying “green” rural areas with wind and solar factories….. but suggest they be put anywhere near where they live, and the caterwauling starts in earnest !
Here, the greens are fighting hard to stop all forestry. I talk about it all the time. I detest them. The state owns about 600K acres of forest. Every time the state wants to do a timber harvest (mostly thinning, not clear cutting)- these idiots make a huge fuss. As it is, even if they didn’t make a fuss, the state would only be cutting about 2% of the growth- but even that is too much for these maniacs. The state goes out of its way to accommodate the public- first publishing detailed plans for each harvest, then having state foresters walk the site with anybody interested. Then the fuss starts. I keep telling the state to stop this pussy footing around with these maniacs. There have been endless studies done on harvesting- its almost ancient history. There is no more need for studies than there is a need to do a study every time a farmer wants to plow a field or harvest anything. But the state people continue with this stupid way of doing it because we don’t have someone like Trump as governor. Instead, we have an ultra woke lesbian and she’s appointed only women to run every agency- and most of the next level down in the administration. I have nothing against lesbians- but I sure hate an ultra woke government.
“Looks like net zero is dead here though the governor doesn’t yet realize it.”
That sounds like the UK. 🙂
Trump is definitely not in favor of windmills and solar. He wants them to go away.
A brave
newold world. How sad. Trump withdraws from Paris Accord but purpurates the Narrative. In the long run, it is 1 % win, 99 % loss.
The win is to stop calling CO2 a pollutant, remove CO2 from EPA pollutant list, defeat the Narrative.
Does he even understand this? If he does, does he care? It looks like he myopically focuses on moves that would give USA advantage in his mind.
Give the guy a break. How could he possibly be on top of everything at the same level you or I can be on “climaaaaate waaaaah”. He’s only been in power since November. Maybe his aides and writers will correct this soon.
On paid commenter phony sites, I’m seeing “well did he bring down grocery prices with his Executive Orders”. Yes he did, with his EOs on energy. These people faking ADHD to trick stupid people into believing it would happen by today are still operative. Hopefully wasting Soros and the like money. Let’s get back on grocery prices in a month, and see if my first paragraph happens.
He had his first term and 4 years in between to learn what is really important.
Are you suggesting that you or me are more qualified than he is? Not that I would disagree if you do.
Many do not realise that the Paris Accord is not to minimise Western CO2 emissions but more to give countries like China the ability to increase their emissions unabated. Why would you not leave?
Now, with the leading Western country, the United States, no longer throttling it’s economy with globalist targets, how can other countries continue with this folly, even as a pretense?
Of the VERY many forecasts of climate relate doom in the past century not one has ever come to pass.
