Climate Disobedience Ahead? Be Ready

From MasterResource

By Robert Bradley Jr.

“Both climate exaggeration and extremism are out of favor, and the public will pounce at any social disruption from the Church of Climate.”

Michael Mezzatesta, self-described “economics & climate educator … sharing ideas for a better future,” urges the fractured, losing climate movement to regroup and up the ante.

“A silver lining of this election result: US progressive resistance movements are about to get a big boost,” he posted on social media. “I predict that it will be a huge four years for progressive organizing and the labor movement, and I think it will be a MASSIVE four years for the climate movement.”

I seriously doubt it. But wishful thinking about rescuing a false, futile, wasteful cause (real problems come first to the electorate) pervades. He continues:

By the next election, I believe the climate movement will be a major political force in US politics, as the Trump administration’s anti-climate policies galvanize millions more people to the climate cause. And I predict we will see mass protests and mobilizations beyond anything we’ve seen before.

So if you’re a progressive or someone who cares about the climate, please take some time to grieve. But when you’re ready, I hope you channel your anger and frustration into joining these resistance movements… Because if we start now, we will have so much momentum by the time another election rolls around!

He mentioned three places “you can start”:

1. Sunrise Movement is a massive coalition of young people fighting to stop the climate crisis and win a green new deal. They have local chapters all around the country, and they are ready for a bunch of us to join. (I just joined their post-election call, and it was awesome.)

2. Working Families Party is organizing to create a check against the moneyed interests that run the Democratic and Republican parties. They train young, progressive, working class people to run for office and get elected. (Over a HUNDRED THOUSAND people joined their post-election call.)

3. Climate Defiance is a climate activist group that uses direct action to disrupt the lives of powerful politicians and leaders and force them to treat the climate crisis like the urgent problem it is. They are pretty militant, and there’s some risk involved in their tactics, but we need them now more than ever. And for what it’s worth, I’ve met them and they’re great people! (cc Michael Greenberg and Evan Drukker-Schardl 🙂

Give these organizations a follow, and if you can, show up to their upcoming events. I can tell you it helps so much to be around other people who care right now, and it will remind you that you are not alone in this fight.

Analysis

Both climate exaggeration and extremism are out of favor, and the public will pounce at any social disruption from the Church of Climate. Regarding exaggeration, none other than climate alarmist Michael Mann, parting with Extinction Rebellion and with Scientist Rebellion (“performative attention whores”), warned:

hot takes, hyperbole, and polarizing commentary best generate clicks, shares, and retweets. I often encounter, especially on social media, individuals who are convinced that the latest extreme weather event is confirmation that the climate crisis is far worse than we thought…. increasingly today we see it with climate doomists…. This is not true, or at best partly true.

Regarding extremism, Mann lamented

the damage done by deeply misguided individuals who in principle would seem to be on the side of climate action but are instead dividing the community and playing right into the agenda of the forces of inaction.

It is hard being green.

That’s what most of us miss. They don’t give a damn about the planet. It’s all about pushing socialism on the rest of us. Like AOC, their leader (and presumed presidential candidate in 2028), they genuinely believe that if they push hard enough, they’ll be favored with riches in the new world order.

It’s a feature, not a bug, that green solutions don’t change the climate. They only have to harm the economy, make it impossible for the working class to heat their homes or keep the lights on without government support. Then they step in with part two: the government takeover of all things energy.

Shooting star?! More like a blathering idiot.

Anyone with an ECONOMICS DEGREE who believes there are no consequences to printing all the money you want to do whatever you want is an idiot, plain and simple.

Nobody should be listening to a word of her verbal diarrhea.

P.S. The “university” that gave her a “degree” in “economics” should have its accreditation stripped before more people piss away hard-earned money attending “school” there (and clearly getting something with no resemblance to an “education”).

Tell this to Federal Reserve.

This is exactly want Federal Reserve has done following subprime mortgage crisis in 2007-2008. First they did whatever they wanted to do, giving out mortgages to all who should not have qualified. When the bubble burst, they covered their losses by printing 16 or 17 Trillion USD to recapitalize themselves. This was on top of the ~3 Trillion Stimulus package that went through Congress. Note, that while the Stimulus package was publicly discussed and essentially borrowed by the Government from Federal Reserve (added to National Debt), the recapitalization that dwarfed the Stimulus was just printed to put in their own pockets with no public scrutiny.

And a cherry on top: in 2022 they awarded themselves Nobel prize in economics exactly for justifying these actions.

So yes, they got away with this in the past, and have no qualms about doing this over and over. With sole control of the money printer they have unlimited line of credit and have no intention of ever paying the debt. Sure the world is going to pay, but the ones in charge think that have their exit strategy.

Prediction: the next 4 years will go 180 deg out of phase from Messatesta’s prediction. People will both recognize the futility of trying to control the climate & realize how much better their lives are by not doing anything in trying to control it ( which they will be living the next 4 years)
The AGW movement is falling apart … so exciting!
I am looking forward to the next 4 years ( and hopefully more after that) 😁

But back then they really weren’t taking notice of the science and they weren’t being asked to actively contribute real money towards mitigation policies that are now hurting their household budgets The hip picket nerve is alive and well, so now the public are bothering to look and determine if this decarbonization process is worthwhile, affordable or even possible. If they start to realize they have been conned into believing in a climate emergency that isn’t a fact, the baseball bats will be out to punish the alarmists pushing this propaganda. The climate scam will then fall over naturally.

I agree that neither morals nor science will slow them down. But reality, big losses in their investments, will require a correction. For them, the carbon tax needs to become permanent but tolerable to society in the long run. The Narrative will not be abandoned, but we will hear a lot of “market is not ready for EVs yet”, ” all sources of energy should be used” etc. Their version of “sustainable” economy/ development will be search for sustainable level of green industrial complex subsidization.

Large or small, Green energy projects always require MASSIVE amounts of fossil fuels to make, build, start, operate and maintain. Wind and solar are very dilute and weak. It is better just to put the FF energy toward making the energy you really need.

None of these greenies will use less fuel. They want ” you ” to use less fuel.In fact, they want ” you ” to use no fuel. They don’t care about the cost of fuel because they have lots of money.

If that idiot really cared anything about the climate, he’d advise his followers to stop using or making use of anything even remotely connected to fossil fuels. It would seem to me that if you are against something, then you’d want to avoid any association with that thing….rather than continue to use it and condemn others for also using it.

Sadly, the Left still thinks they lost due to “bad messaging” ie, they just didn’t explain
to the voters all their wonderful policies well enough. They have no self awareness.

Hopefully, many of these poorly informed citizens will get to see over the next few years the uncensored reality of the policies you listed, thus allowing them to stop being “Duped”.

“I predict that it will be a huge four years for progressive organizing and the labor movement…”

I’ve always been amused by the belief of pampered progressives that they speak for and control blue collar workers. I’m sure most factory workers, construction laborers, etc would be disgusted by being told that Bernie Sanders, AOC, or this Mezzatesta idjut is their spokesperson.
