An Example of What “Climate Alarmist Propaganda” Looks Like
Guest essay by Larry Hamlin
Shown below are U.S. daily weather graphs for Thursday July 18, 2024, as presented in the O C Register and L A Times morning newspapers respectively.
For an additional comparison these 2 U.S. whether graphs are shown side by side below.
The daily July 18 high and low temperatures for all the U.S. cities listed are the same in both these daily weather graphs.
Guess which of these two newspapers (hint – look at the amount of “red”) has been pushing a completely biased climate alarmist propaganda campaign for decades?
And yet the news media wonder why their claims have such low credibility marks from the public with AXIOS reporting a record low 39% of the public indicating “they don’t trust the media at all.”
Clearly this outcome is well supported and completely justified.

I’m in Malta and the climate propaganda has been hugely swallowed by even the older generation who of late consider themselves rather savvy in being as up on things as the younger population.
The same lecturing tone on all things climate that I hear in the US has somehow infiltrated its way into the Maltese accent and mindset.
I got the big heat lecture the other day.
Is Malta any hotter now than it’s always been?
If a lie is repeated often enough, a lot of people will believe it.
The Human-caused Climate Change lie is certainly repeated often enough. Numerous times a day, all over the Western world.
You started by quoting Vladimir Lenin. Unfortunately, that is so. Hitler’s corollary to that is, ‘The bigger the lie, the easily it is believed. So, ‘bottom line’, there are two fundamental truths established during the Second Millennium,
1). Newton’ Laws of Motion, 17th Century, and
2). Lenin’s theory of human behavior, 20th Century, as quoted by you.
I think that “you will even come to believe it yourself” is very important, and very true.
Liars many times, believe their own lies, especially where politics is concerned.
You look at some of these leftwing commentators on tv calling Trump a latter-day Hitler, and you realize that for some of them, this is not just political rhetoric, they actually believe what they are saying, even though there is no evidence for it, and it couldn’t be farther from the truth.
People believe what they want to believe and political liars convince themselves that lies are the truth, which is what they want to believe.
With Human-caused Global Warming/Climate Change, we are dealing with a Mass Delusion with millions of humans involved. Millions of people are being fooled, and are fooling themselves. Millions of others are not.
How do you think brainwashing works?
Met Office would have the whole map in various shades of bright red. The BBC would then exaggerate it.
The blue and green crayons are tastier than the hotter colours, so it’s all they are left with to fill in their charts. Occasionally, they manage to stay within the lines.
Even in the map on left, the scale has very little in the way of green shades. And they have 50s and 60s as yellow and 70s as orange. WTF??
Yesterday was almost a ‘scorcher’ but just failed to breach 30C where I am. This morning is very cool and overcast and not at all feeling like threatening to break any temperature records.
The weather feels very different this year compared to the last few years. It would seem the jet stream may from time to time give us a taste of continental weather but, in the main, is still a key provider of UK variability.
Where’s all the deep reds?
Washington, DC, and Brussels?
Dale Vince, a receiver of much UK government subsidy for wind and solar sites, and Chris Packham, just a complete and utter idiot, complaining about prison sentences for JSO protestors since they don’t want anything to make them less prosperous or look even more stupid than they already do look in the eyes of the slightly more intelligent in society. Both need locking up but an asylum seems more relevant and appropriate.
And as usual, there is not a blurb about the unusual concept of cool fronts continually cooling Texas in late July.
Yes, we here in Oklahoma are getting this cooling, too. Instead of being in the 100’s F, we are barely hitting 90F, and we are getting a little bit of rain, and this cool, wet weather is supposed to continue for about a week. A pleasant respite from the normal very high temperatures we experience this time of year normally.
But it won’t last long. The extreme heat is coming, just like it does every year. The hottest part of our year is from about July 15 to August 15.
This type of cool weather pattern is unusual during the middle of July, but it is not unheard of. It has happened before.
I’m in northern Kansas. By this time it is usually dry and hot with the grass brown and dormant. It isn’t unusual to need to have a water in a sprayer to douse grass on fire from fireworks on July 4th.
Here is a picture of my front lawn this morning.
I looked at the monthly forecasts and mid-90’s for August. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a summer like this.
Looks good!
My lawn looked like that up until about two weeks ago, then it started drying out, but we just had some good rain in the last hour so the grass will green back up for a short period of time.
i’ve seen it go almost the entire summer without rain, so it could be a lot worse. We thank the Rainmaker for the rain.
In Houston, the same thing, it will start to warm up to the upper 90’s over a few days, and then it becomes cloudy and rains for a week. South Texas, usually parched by this time, is quite lush in some areas.
This time last year, we were running about 10-12 degrees above what we are now. The longest run of 100+ I have lived through here, certainly the most expensive 3 light bills I have paid.
Yes indeed, during the last Glaciation I am pretty sure in got hot here in August, I believe this is the Canadian fire particulates at play, we will pay the piper for this missing heat this winter.
Well if there were such a blurb, it would only be to claim that’s another sign of Climate Change™! (™ = Be afraid, be very afraid!)
Preaching and reporting are different activities, which escapes some activist “reporters”.
Two different newspapers use slightly different color scales for their weather maps.
Someone call the DIN police 😀
Yeah, it’s a measure of how gullible are the people who look at them Which is your preference?
Two different scam callers use slightly different prize amounts to entice their scam victims.
Someone call the FRAUD police.
But oh yeah, the same thing happens, absolutely nothing!
Just don’t let your comrade Nick at them with his red lippy !
Take a course in presentations and preparing power point slides and you will learn the psychological impact of colors on viewers.
Temple (Bell County, Texas) still hasn’t hit 100 this year. It has been a cool summer so far.
It’s all about giving a false impression.
Back in the 1990’s into the 2010’s, I’d watch “The Weather Channel” before going to work. (That was before it changed hands and became, for all practical purposes, “The Storm Channel”.)
The reason I watched it every morning was so that I didn’t have to watch the clock to know when to leave for work.
Back then the “Local on the 8’s” was actually on every “8”. When the 6:38 AM “8”, it was time to leave.
Also back then, the “Local on the 8’s” almost always included the record High and Low for the day.
I noticed but didn’t pay a lot of attention. But it did leave an impression.
Then in 2007 Al Gore came out with his “Inconvenient Truth” about CAGW. (That was before “Climate Change” became the mainstream meme.)
Being familiar with Al Gore the Politician, I didn’t trust him and I had the “impression” that what he claimed wasn’t so.
I found a list of the record highs and lows for my little spot on the globe. I copy/pasted the list into Excel then used the “sort” function to line them up by years set.
Lo and Behold!
Most of the record highs were set before 1950 and most of the record lows were set after 1950!
Moral of the story: An impression can be right or wrong. Dig a bit deeper to confirm the impression is right or wrong.
PS Why have weather maps shifted to making cooler temperatures more “red” and appear hotter?
You’d think, if things were actually getting hotter, they’d have shifted the other way before they run out of the “red” tones.
What you may not have realized is that the LA Slimes got a great deal on a sale of red ink. They’ve got to use it somewhere.
Biden: It’s 120 in Las Vegas. That is climate change.
Ok. So go back to 1880 and reduce the temperature by 5 F.
One has to then believe 115F is cool but 120F is raging hot.
Glad he decided to drop out of the election.
