But the Climate Crisis is Still Totally Real.

__________________________________

1. More rain is not a problem.
2. Warmer weather is not a problem.
3. More arable land is not a problem.
4. Longer growing seasons is not a problem.
5. CO2 greening of the earth is not a problem.
6. There isn’t any Climate Crisis.

I post that whenever it seems appropriate.

I have lived in Iceland and because of Gulf Stream Iceland is quite livable. I got a sun burn north of Arctic Circle. The winter storms can be brutal (deadly) but they are more windy than cold. Hurricane strength winds.

Global Warming was supposedly raising temperatures significantly more at higher latitudes and most at the poles … and at night in the winter. Aren’t the Tropics the least affected location?

Floods and heat waves have been occurring since before I was in diapers, way back in 1962. The Russian River in Kalifornia flooded back in 1964 and every subsequent El Nino year since. I remember heat waves in Southern Kalifornia back in the mid 1960s driving everyone to go to the Cambridge Public Pool to cool off. I don’t see any particular increase in event or scale over the years either. Beyond what is hyped by the media that is. The beach (Ventura Beach) we used to frequent in summer in the late 60s and early 70s is still just as large today (dunes to waterline) with breakers at the same point on the pier as they were 50+ years ago

I remember two tropical clinical thermometers bursting apart in my luggage from the heat in the town of Yelwa, on the Niger River in northwestern Nigeria. That was in 1966 before climate had to be ‘invented’ by Consensus Climatologists.

If you have a flood, and you add more water to it, does the flood grow or get smaller.
If you have a heat wave, and add more heat to it, does the heat wave get worse or better.

Claiming that more heat and more water is never a problem is the same kind of simplistic nonsense that we have come to expect from the global warming alarmists.

Reply to  MarkW
July 8, 2024 5:02 pm

Is there really that much more heat? Worth spending hundreds of trillions of dollars to stop? As for more water, most places welcome more rain. Here in Wokeachusetts, the main water supply for Boston is the Quabbin Reservoir in central part of the state. For decades, enviros whined that drought kept the reservoir way below filled. Now it’s overflowing along with every other body of water in the state.

Neither of which has anything to do with “climate change.”

I know you weren’t suggesting that, just a point of clarification.

Reply to  MarkW
July 8, 2024 6:14 pm

No, nobody said it is ‘never’ a problem, some said it has always been a problem, and I think most realize it will be a barely noticeable problem.

Only the “attribution specialists” (that recently concocted climate career) will take notice, and the few who believe their stories.

Reply to  MarkW
July 8, 2024 6:27 pm

But neither is associated with “climate change™”, which is what the
“more” tries to imply.

Reply to  MarkW
July 8, 2024 10:26 pm

He was talking about the planet in total – the Earth in general is a dried up, cold ball of dirt compared to the Cretaceous period, or even just a few thousand years ago when the Sahara was a forest and savannah because of more heat not less.

So, on a global scale, everything he said was right.

Another example, if the world warmed another 3-5°C by next century, likely millions more would die from heatstroke, say. Bad, right?

But what about the 10s of millions saved from dying in the cold? Better, no?

Especially since the eggheads tell us that the warming will be disportionally towards the poles.

Reply to  PCman999
July 8, 2024 11:03 pm

likely millions more would die from heatstroke”

Well, No. !

The tropics are pretty much set with their max temps because of ocean and weather actions.

Warming would mostly be in places that are now cooler, so would just SAVE lives from cold deaths.

Warming would be massively beneficial for higher latitudes.

Reply to  MarkW
July 10, 2024 7:53 am

The notion that a change in climate “adds” to *weather* events is pseudo-science.

How would we know the temperature or the amount of rainfall from a given “hot spell” or rainfall/storm is “hotter” or “wetter” because the average temperature (mostly at night and at higher latitudes) is a bit higher?

Answer: WE DON’T. Any suggestion that we do is based on assumptions and “models” (but I repeat myself), not on any actual consistent empirical evidence.

This type of crap is nothing but so-called “attribution science” which might as well be practiced in a dimly lit room using a crystal ball. It is not science, just another tentacle of the AGW propaganda machine.

Are floods and heatwaves more dangerous than blizzards? Which are more common? Which take more lives, warm climates or cold climates?

My son in Texas just had a hurricane pass right over him this morning, and in a couple of days, you won’t even know it happened….during the winter a couple of years ago when the Texas power grid failed, hundreds, maybe thousands of houses and apartments were severely damaged due to burst water pipes from freezing and the loss of electricity caused numerous deaths and injuries.

Reply to  MarkW

Never any heat waves or floods until recent decades? You might want to take a course in sedimentology. In another thread, I gave a link to a PBS documentary discussing a semi tropical environment in northern Greenland 2 million years ago. Including mastodons.

Reply to  MarkW
July 8, 2024 6:08 pm

“…Unless you believe that floods and heatwaves can be problems….”
Nah, obviously they are not. People and towns inevitbly will become more flood prone anyway as they build on floodplains, so regardless, they will have to cope.

And, heatwaves? Those who live closer to the tropics deal with that constantly, (and in the tropics it won’t get higher than now), so at the worst you are dealing with the equivalent of a move 300 km closer to the equator.

Presuinmg the modelling is anywhere near realistic, it is a complete non-event.

Some groups, including scum in the Victorian Labor party, are trying to lock up the forests to disallow human access.

A fine skeptical journal article waded through green pal review. Wonder of wonders!

The journal is the American Journal of Economics and Sociology. The article title is perfectly clear: “Carbon dioxide and a warming climate are not problems”.
See https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ajes.12579

This article by the same authors was on Andy May’s website. It may be the same.

I listen to Adams’ podcast daily, and though he is a climate crisis skeptic, he clearly doesn’t read WUWT. He’s very intelligent, and this blog would give him more information than he probably knows exists.

If WUWT had a feature to block out comments from names such as “Gunga Din” and “Myusername”, I’d wholeheartedly agree it would be worth his time.

On second thought, WUWT has never been about censorship. Blatantly and repeatedly violating the site’s policies, OK. (I’ve seen that happen over the years.)
Giving individuals to block selected commenters?
They might miss something.
It’s not hard to just scroll past those comments.

When we have the first Nut Zero blackout, that will be a climate crisis.

I have renamed Nut Zero as the
